Micuilles:

My friend, you studied a very good and useful course. Congrats. For the MSc. it depends on the course, your first degree graduation grade and the school. Getting an MSc is great if you can afford it. Take the chance ASAP. If you want to move to a pure engineering, most schools will require you do a pgd first even if you had a 2:1. But for material Physics, Geophysics, Electronics and etc, with a 2;2, you can get an MSc directly. It depends on you! Better still, you can get a better education abroad (MSc) if you can afford it. I assure you, the skies will not limit you. Finally, at this stage of your life, you need to know that life is a function of grace. You need God to decide what will put food on your table. as such, ensure a very good relationship with Him. He'll direct your path. You can inbox me your email add. I would be glad to be of assistance wherever possible. God bless you.

Thanks a lot Sir. I graduated with a 2:1 and I would like to go for a M.Sc in Medical Physics. From my findings I was told Unilag is probably the only school that is still a bit up to standard in this field hence my reason for applying there but unfortunately I was told they stopped accepting B.Sc ed Physics for any of their M.Sc programs some 4-5yrs ago. I was at a cross road. Then on the international scene I felt my course combination is not recognised. But if you have any information regarding this I would really like the details and the steps to take as you've been in the sector longer with better experience. Thanks in advance. I can be reached through theconcealedpearl@yahoo.com

Young man, you should try and read the ops post and understand before commenting. He had a BSc.ed degree, not a Bed degree. They are very different. My first degree was also a BSc. ed degree in Physics. I thought for 6 months while applying for other jobs. After then, I have been working in the oil and gas for over 8 years now. I only just started my MSc. in Operations & SCM in a prestigious UK university last year. After 7 years working in the O & G, I did a professional course which lead to the field I'm in currently in my MSc.

Yes, there is always an atom of grace in every career opportunity, especially in Nigeria. But the fact remains that a BSc. ed degree is not the same as a Bed. degree.
.

@Mr micuilles: I'm so happy to read this comment of yours. I'm also a fairly fresh graduate in B.Sc(Ed)Physics. I graduated in 2013 and finished serving Nov 2014. I tried to go for my masters immediately but Unilag is not ready to accept B.Sc ed grads for M.Sc.

I've been a bit confused ever since as I'm not sure of the next step to take. All I've been getting are primary and secondary schools teaching offers which I'm not too keen about. Please advice me.

This is thought provoking, no one want to run a business at a loss. Oftentimes, I do think that oversees Universities also give higher grades to African students as a means to attract foreign students as well. I may be wrong though.

Bros I did B.ed Educational management and economics. I am eligible to study MSC economics and my chance is d same as those who did bsc economics. Bros ur chance is quite high and u are on the right path to becoming a lecturer. but its one step at a time. get in first and make sure u cone out with PhD grade.
If u are thinking those with bsc physics have upper hand, bro u are wrong.
My opinion though

.

My brother I've checked out some schools and they don't want to accept B.Sc (Ed) Physics graduates for a M.Sc programme. please if you can help with list of schools that still do and the options available to me, I will greatly appreciate it. Thanks
