FamilyRe: Does Sex On First Date Make A Lady Look Cheap? by TheFLIRT(m): 8:43pm On Jul 06, 2015
Joromi1:
I've been wondering.....most women have this NO SEX ON FIRST DATE motto like it's the only criterion to ascertaining feminine decency. They say it gives the guy the impression that you're too cheap and he would definitely dump you easy. But to me, it's not true. You can play the hard-to-get for a year and still get jilted. So, ladies, allow your mood determine for you. If you have to bang that guy, bang him! And who knows, it might result to true love and marriage. Or what do you think, guys? wink
I don't know why we never agree on a subject grin Yes! It's bad! I don't care about ur opinion. I just have to say it as the majority see it. It is bad and a very wrong move. She wouldn't just be considered too cheap, but foolish and a gold-digger. Why is it referred to as the private place then? So keep it private and don't expose it on ur first date no matter the pressure

Akinsnaira:
Mind you, Nigeria might not have as high divorce rate as USA, this is largely due to societal pressure, as women are forced to confine themselves to patriarchal name of their husband.

But the consequence is greater, it has one of the highest (if not the highest) rate of marital infidelity in the world.

Most married couples in Nigeria, order than going on divorce, resort to extra-marital practices just to stay married. When they are no longer getting the fun they crave in their marriage.
I can agree with u to some extent on this. Yes, Nigerians frown at marriage failures a lot. A divorced lady would no doubt be badmouthed by busybodies. This is even the more reason why women are forced to remain loyal to their husbands, as they won't like to be a topic for gossips. An average Nigerian married woman has an iota of dignity and shame in her, and she'd like to do everything humanly possible to keep a good name.
Secondly, the bearing of husband's patriarchal name is almost global, even in the US. For example, their First Lady was formally Michelle Robinson but now she has Obama added to her name

be deceiving yourself.....
african women live & die for marriage. it's the single-most important achievement in their lives & it cuts across. getting married is almost seen as more important than bagging a doctorate degree.

the women are coached/trained by parents & pastors to stay in the marriage. they are told to persevere & not worry so much about whatever the hubby is doing. there's always a worse example to bring up whenever a woman complains of the abuse she's suffering in her matrimony.

the solution is fast & pray.....
Hahaha! What is this guy saying? Do u think it's like one of those Nollywood movies where an igwe or oba controls the affairs of his subjects? Na wa o! After all the education and civilisation. Sorry, bro, it doesn't happen that way anymore

Romance35-year-old Councillor Marries A 6-year-old Girl In India by TheFLIRT(op): 7:12am On Jul 03, 2015
According to reports, Ratan Lal Jat, 35, is an elected local member of the Gangrar village council, in Rajasthan, West India.

On June 23, it’s thought that Ratan Lal Jat wed the extremely young child bride in front of five witnesses in a secret village temple ceremony.

Local marriage broker Jamuni Bai – notorious for arranging such marriages for fees – was said to be present.

Police explained that Ratan Lal Jat’s unsettling ceremony was to fulfil the requirements of Nata Pratha.

An ancient local custom, Nata Pratha dictates that any married man can have an affair with a married woman if he provides financial compensation, the two lovers must both be wed.

Because Ratan Lal Jat was single, he married the six-year-old girl in order to comply with the age-old tradition.

The girl’s family were paid an undisclosed fee and although she is now married to a man 29 years her senior, she can continue to live in her family home.

Police have arrested Ratan Lal Jat under the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act 2006.

Gyanendra Singh, inspector and Station House officer of Gangrar, said:

"We learnt about the incident when the pictures of the wedding started circulating on social network apps. We managed to get hold of the pictures and we sent a team to investigate the matter.
We found Ratan Lal had married a minor to follow age-old customs. But for us it is a clear case of child marriage and we arrested Ratan Lal Jat under the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act 2006."

Concerning the marriage broker, Inspector Singh added:

"But Jamuni Bai is at large and we’ve launched an operation to find all witnesses involved in the illegal child marriage."

and there's no divorce in africa?

africa is actually worse. majority of the people still pretending that they are in a marriage are not happy. they are just scared of the stigma the society would attach to them if they walk out of the marriage.
Don't make it sound like African women in marriage are in living bondage. There's no law restricting women from filing for divorce if the marriage is unfavourable to them. And why would the society stigmatise a divorcee when her reason for leaving is clear? Do you think we're still in the 1800's? We've outgrown that age a long time ago

Divorce rate currently @ 50%? That is so untrue, not even in Europe. Give evidence before I buy that. This is Africa and early marriage has been our way of life for centuries. The trend now is that when ur 30 and above and still single, you might get mocked

the means isn't even enough.
he has to be mentally ready for it. marriage isn't child's play. a lot of stuff are involved...he has to consult his other half in every decision he's about to make.
You see, that's the problem with most of our youths today. They want to wait until they're 101% certain that they can handle a marriage. Fear! That's it, fear! Dude, no man marries because he's too confident with his abilities. Even the strongest, wisest and richest have failed in marriage. My dad once told me that marriage is an institution itself because u get to learn new things from ur partner as long as u live with him or her. Pls don't allow fear of what may be delay ur marriage

Lol! I didn't say that. But if a man has the means he shud marry at 25, no excuse. It won't stop him from enjoying social life or furthering his education

Which are?
Like the one you mentioned: raising kids in time to avoid old age stress. I know early marriage doesn't guarantee giving birth to kids in time but late marriage too doesn't! It's all about being mature at heart. Do you know some people marry late because they can't tolerate their partners? Guy, I can advise any man to get married even before 25

It's a Nigerian phenomenon that when u marry at a very young age, u'll avoid the stress and pain of raising ur kids at old age. If that is only reason then the idea is useless because one needs to be mature and financially strong enough before taking decisions towards that
Our parents are wise. The advantages in early marriage still outweigh the disadvantages

For the records, any sex with your patient or patient relatives is a big case for MDCN. Your provisional license will be withdrawn even if the sex was consensual. This is because it was clearly mentioned in the Hippocratic oath doctors take. NO SEX WITH PATIENTS OR PATIENTS RELATIVES/VISITORS. But sex with coworkers (female doctors and female nurses) is nothing if it was consensual. But then, your self respect will keep on reducing in the social circles till you lose the trust of all your patients if they know you get down low with anything in skirt. Thats a classic example of how to be a poor, unknown, unethical, unproffesional, two room apartment doctor.

What you lose will be greater than what you gain if word spreads that you have no hold over your JT.
Now I'm really afraid. Thanks for the info

Sharap joor!grin

Jokes apart. The implications of a doctor engaging in sex with his patient or patient relatives is disastrous. MDCN can withdraw the person's license.

Doctors are the most proffesional when it comes to ethics and respecting their boundaries. Outsiders however think otherwise. I used to think like that too, but not anymore.
I don't think the authorities would withdraw their license if the ladies offer themselves willingly
