School teacher shot dead in Cross-Rivers state
A man who was identified as teacher has just been shot dead by armed robbers in Eleme Town, cross Rivers. It was gathered that the young man hails from Ogoja, Cross River State and teaches in a school in Eleme town.

The tragic incident occurred after Phone thieves stormed a phone shop in the High tension Area of Aleto community in Eleme where the deceased charged his phone and shot him in the chest after he went to collect his fully charged phone unknown to him that there are robbers in the shop.

The robbers was said to zoom off while the teacher bled to death.

He (the deceased) was rushed to a nearby clinic where he was confirmed dead....oh what a sad news!!!. Efforts to reach out to his people via his phone were made as at the time of filing this report.

It would be recalled that sometimes ago nemesis caught up with three armed robbers that specialize in stealing phones and money from their victims in Eleme town, Rivers state.

The robbers were apprehended around High Tension Area of Aleto in Eleme after they succeeded in snatching some phones and money from their victims at gunpoint and even shot a man.


A mob pursued them, caught them and beat them mercilessly before handing them over to the police.

Arsene Wenger - the former Arsenal manager has reported that former player Thierry Henry avoided him after getting sacked by AS Monaco.


Wenger, speaking with L’Equipe, revealed that his former captain has rejected the invitation to have dinner with him.



Recall that Henry was dismissed after just 20 games in charge of the Ligue 1 side, with predecessor Leonardo Jardim returning to the club in January.


Also, Wenger gave much assistance to Henry during his brief reign in charge and reached out to him when he was sacked, but the former striker was not ready to see his old boss.


According to Wenger:

“I called Thierry when it was bad, I encouraged him not to let go.

“When he was removed from his duties I tried to call but, hey… he experienced a form of mourning. I suggested to his agent to organise a meal with him.

77-year-old woman graduates from UNILAG
A woman, 77, retiree was among the 1,008 students who graduated from the Faculty of Education. The University of Lagos, awarded first degree on Tuesday at the institution’s 2017/2018 Convocation Ceremonies.

The retiree, whose name wasn't revealed, said that the achievement was her dream come true.

During the interview she said, and I quote:

"I studied guidance and counselling and I am most grateful to God Almighty who made me to see this day. “ I will not like my name to be mentioned because I know where I am coming from and what I am protecting. “I am a retired officer. I have worked in a lot of countries around the world and also in Nigeria, where I finally retired,’’

The lawmaker representing Etsako West Constituency ll in the Edo State House of Assembly, Sylvanus Eruaga, has asked the Federal High Court, sitting in Benin, to compel the Independent National Electoral Commission to withdraw the Certificate of Return issued to Seid Oshiomhole, who was the declared the winner of the recently conducted State House Assembly poll in the constituency.

Eruaga is also seeking an order for a perpetual injunction restraining Seid, the younger brother of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Adams Oshiomhole, from parading himself as the member-elect for Etsako West Constituency ll.

Defendants in the suit with number FHC/B/CS/36/2019, are, Independent National Electoral Commission, the All Progressives Congress, Seid Oshiomhole, Edo State House of Assembly, Edo State government and the Clerk, Edo State House of Assembly.

Eruaga, a PDP lawmaker, through his Counsel, Barr. Dele Igbinedion, said his constitutionally prescribed four-year tenure would expire on the 5th April 2020.

Relying on subsisting Court of Appeal judgment delivered on December 19th 2015 (Appeal No CA/EPT/ 343/3015) in his favour, the plaintiff also prayed the court to determine whether the tenure of his office commenced on the 5th April 2016 when he subscribed to oaths of office and allegiance or 8th June 2015 when the Assembly was inaugurated.

A witness in the trial of the suspended chief justice of Nigeria have been caught with a prepared script at the CCT

The prepared script which Busari had was admitted by the CCT as an exhibit.

The trial of the suspended chief justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen, took a different turn on Monday, April 1, when a witness on the matter approached to court with a script.

Our source reported that when Onnoghen opened his defence on allegations of fraudulent declaration of assets, the witness, Lawal Olanrewaju Busari, who introduce himself as the CJN's official driver took the oath and entered the witness box.

However, shortly after the oath was admistered to Busari, the cross-examination, Adegboyega Awomolo (SAN) - who is also the defence lawyer - asked a series of questions on his relationship with Onnoghen.The prepared script which Busari had was admitted by the CCT as an exhibit

On thursday, President Donald Trump dropped a threat to seal the US-Mexican border, disclosure made in a tweet that America’s southern neighbour is allowing illegal immigrants to cross-over with restriction.

“May close the Southern Border!” the president wrote.
