Impunity as Oba of Benin demolishes 80 properties in Edo Community, victims accuse Edo Govt of complicity It was a day of wailing in Ulegun, a peaceful and growing community on the Benin-Abraka Road as thousands of home owners wailed and rolled on the ground as they watched their life-time investments broken into rubbles and ruins by bulldozers ordered by the palace of the Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II. Plot after plot, the bulldozers crawled over 80 houses and other belongings worth billions of naira and threw the law-abiding home owners into the streets. Even pots of soups, medicines for the sick and milk for babies were not spared in the onslaught as the owners were not allowed to remove their belongings from their homes. Currently, the displaced former Ulegun landlords and landladies are taking refuge in the homes of friends and families in neighboring communities praying for justice to come quickly. Strangely, the leader of the chiefs from the palace and Secretary to the Benin Traditional Council, Mr. Frank Irabor, had no court order or judgement to execute such unprecedented illegality in a state where law and order reign supreme. As if the wanton destruction was not enough, the Village Head, Enogie Sunday Eghosasere Omoregie, and the chief priest of the community, Ohen Philip Uwuoroya, were adopted and brutalised in a style reminiscent of the German Gestapo Police during the Nazi regime. Recalling the series of events in Ulegun Village, reports said the community’s Queen Mother, Mrs. Rose Omoregie, who gave an eye witness account, said that “the community head was called for a meeting last Wednesday and since then, he had not returned home.” According to Mrs. Omoregie, “the Enogie inherited the land in dispute between the Ulegun Community and Ukhiri Community from his grandfather and the land belongs to the Ulegun Community and not the reigning Oba of Benin as claimed by the palace chiefs. The dispute over the land has since 1974 been settled and resolved in favour of the Ulegun community from the palace of Oba Akenzua up to the Supreme Court.” Those affected in the demolition have also accused the Governor Godwin Obaseki-led administration of being complicit in the whole drama. It was, however, gathered that the Edo State Government has facilitated the release of the Ulegun Community head and the chief priest. The former homeowners "want the injustice redressed as the Nigerian Constitution should be King in a democratic era as against the raw, unrestrained, unbridled and illegal powers of some traditional rulers and government officials"... #CongratsPastorChris: LoveWorld’s Rhapsody of Realities Now Most Translated Publication in the World The Rhapsody of Realities, a publication of LoveWorld Publishing Ltd, a daily devotional authored by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome of The Christ Embassy is now the most translated book in the world. The Director of Operations, LoveWorld Publishing, Pastor (Mrs.) Lola Aisida who made this known said the publication has now been translated into 7,000 worldwide with 520 of these languages from Nigeria alone. “Never in the history of the world, and in all the record books of Guinness Book of World Records, has any literary material – be it document, film, writing, book, or any piece of historical or modern parchment - been translated into 7,000 languages. “The meteoric rise of the Rhapsody of Realities devotional to the most-coveted spot as the world’s No 1 daily devotional and now Most Translated Book in the world began with first edition published in the English Language by LoveWorld Publishing.” She said that 22 years after, LoveWorld Publishing has grown into a vast network of publishers spread across several countries, adding that the work of translation is deployed by a massive army of translators who applied due diligence processes in delivering Rhapsody of Realities to all the 7,000 languages. “By any standard, the work of translation is not an easy one. If it were, the world’s popularly literary pieces would have long been made available in all languages. On the contrary, authenticated records show that the most translated short film documentary is in eleven translations; the most translated short film has 22 translations; the most translated document, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, produced by United Nations in 1948 has been translated into only 370 languages as of 2019. “And, even the acclaimed Most Professionally Translated Author in the World, Agatha Christie has her books in only 100+ languages!” “There are over 7,000 languages spoken today, but a report says 42 percent of these languages are endangered. These statistics posed a global challenge fit only for a global publishing house that transcends the inadequacies of the publishing space.” She concluded that LoveWorld Publishing will ensure that no language goes extinct as Rhapsody of Realities will remain widely distributed month after month in over 7,000 languages of the world. Speaking, the Abuja Zonal Pastor, Christ Embassy, Dipo Fisho, appreciated Pastor Oyakhilome "for bringing men into the reality of the original purpose for which they were created," through the book. He said the Ministry would ensure the book continues to reach all communities in nations of the world. According to him, the purpose of the book is "to bring men back to their creator for their purpose to be fulfilled," mentioning that testimonies abound of people in hopeless situations who have got the reason again to live again by reading the book. A user, Dr. Chris Iyama, said the Rhapsody of Realities has been transforming lives, mentioning that as users, there has been the creation of study groups meeting daily to study the book. He said the book is mind enlightening and the testimonies of its users have shown productive contributions in their various endeavors, including legislators in the National Assembly and public offices. According to him, the 7000 languages translation feat is "worth celebrating and shouting about. I would like to commend this awesome book which has become one of the best testimonies out of Nigeria to the rest of the world. I pray for greater unction on the Man of God Pastor Chris Oyakhilome to write this life transforming book, said Mr. Yinka Aderibigbe, Publisher, Sunrise News Online.

The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Region 19 headquarters, Dominion Sanctuary, Ikeja recently graduated the first set of graduates from the empowerment programme of Dominion Cares Foundation (DCF). This is in addition to what the CSR department is doing to reach out to the Ikeja, Agidingbi, Ogba, Iju Communities. The special event took place recently at the church auditorium located on Acme road within the central business district of Ikeja, Lagos, Charging the 31 specially equipped trainees to go out and succeed, the Pastor in charge, Pastor Brown Oyitso demanded that they dig deep to expand their sphere of influence as pioneer ambassadors of Dominion Cares Foundation (DCF). “I want to hear in the next 2 or 3 years that your businesses have expanded within Africa to Europe and even to the USA. This is the kind of news we are expecting to hear from you” Pastor Oyitso Stressed. Speaking later in an interview, on what motivated the Dominion Sanctuary to embark on this charity project, DCF Pastor Oyitso explained that the humane ministry of his General Overseer, Pastor E. A. Adeboye in this area were the biggest factor that motivated him. “Daddy G.O. as we fondly call him instructed us to embark on CSR initiatives to help the marginalized people of the society. Daddy G.O. saw the huge needs in the society and realized that government can’t meet all these needs. He therefore instructed the Pastors of the RCCG to embark on these CSR initiatives to help humanity. The RCCG’s CSR, Christian Social Responsibility initiatives seek to positively effect changes in society by working with people, corporate bodies, NGOs, and Government to improve the overall socioeconomic status of both people and communities. “In that project, our primary scope and focus is on external interventions in tandem with the RCCG National framework and objectives initiatives subdivided into eight pillars - Social, Health, Education, Media, Business, Art/Entertainment, Government and Sports. ‘’ The CSR programmes are on and quite active in our region here. Just as our General Overseer saw that vacuum, we were motivated to look around and we saw a lot of spaces we need to fill. In addition to what we do through our CSR department, which is outward looking, we had to set up the Dominion Cares Foundation to look after the needs of our members within the church. The foundation is headed by Babatunde Savage, former Chairman of Guinness Nigeria Plc. “In this area of skills acquisition programmes that we are starting with, we expect there will be multiplier effects. This first group will employ and train apprentices who in turn will also become manufacturer and entrepreneurs someday. Commenting on his involvement as chairman of Dominion Cares Foundation, Mr. Babatunde Savage revealed that he felt highly privileged to lead a committed team dedicated to meeting societal needs through the demonstration of love that positively impacts individuals in the church. (L-R)A beneficiary of Dominion Care Foundation Empowerment Project, Sister Dupe Lokoyi and the Pastor in Charge of Region 19 and International Missions, RCCG and the Graduation Ceremony of First Set of Beneficiary of Dominion Care Foundation in Lagos on Sunday. He explained that at Dominion Sanctuary, CSR objectives are in tandem with that of the National Headquarters, however, for DCF, Savage explained that the foundation has identified and extended its scope, and the focus presently is to provide financial independence for indigent church members. He also explained that the project is built on 3 pillars- skills acquisition, job creation, and business networking. On the initial challenges the foundation faced, a member of the DCF, Dr Chidi Okpaluba who mentored the trainees for one year, revealed that it took a lot of efforts to convince people who were always looking for jobs that they can start something on their own. “We had to go deep and motivate them and the result is the can-do spirit we can see now. Already, 28 persons have been interviewed and they are on the line to resume as the second batch of this impactful project,” Okpaluba explained. The 31 pioneer beneficiaries were trained in seven areas- fashion design, digital/ social media marketing, catering, driving, videography, shoe making, and Igele /make-up services. The church is finalising the establishment of a micro-finance bank that will facilitate loans and grants for trainees. During the event, all the colourfully- dressed 31 beneficiaries came out to collect their certificates from the regional pastor. In a chat, Olufunke Umoren who graduated in Fashion- design/ dress-making was full of praises for the pastor and the church for the capacity-building opportunities provided. “For six months that we trained, the foundation provided everything from clothes even to the needles we used. It was so seamless and we were treated like queens’, Umoren stressed, For Adedayo Olabunmiji who lost his banking job some years ago, his training in digital/Social media marketing was like a new beginning and he is ready to explore the digital world massively. Felicia Esazebor and Austin Ogechukwu Benson, trained as a make-up artist and shoemaker respectively, were full of excitement at their graduation. Some trainees exhibited their products, smiling home with quality sales. RCCG Dominion Sanctuary is passionate about its vision for all members to make heaven. The congregation has grown massively over the years. The church has a uniquely built edifice which gives a captivating look to viewers. They also have a beautiful choir with songs always beautifully rendered to inspire and engage all attendees in profound worship.

- ---The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has blamed the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr. Godwin Emefiele's poor economic management policies for the recent free-fall of the Naira. The Naira within the week depreciated to an all-time low of N730 to a U.S dollar at the parallel market. President of the NYCN, Comrade Solomon Adodo, stressed that statements credited to the CBN Governor alleging that the current free-fall of the Naira against other major currencies was as a result of the non-remittances of dollars to the foreign reserve by the NNPC Ltd, without highlighting the reality of the causative oil and non-oil related factors including a drop in Nigeria's crude oil production, growing petrol subsidy, an unsustainable dual exchange rate system, reduction in foreign direct investments and growing dependence on importation across many sectors of the economy as disingenuous and unpatriotic. The group flayed Emefiele for completely failing to concentrate on his core mandate of price stability as the apex bank's governor, pointing out that with inflation at about 19 percent and the exchange rate nearing N800 to a dollar, the CBN Governor should be held responsible for deepening poverty in the country as he continues to work at cross-purposes at President Muhammadu Buhari's objective of reducing poverty and growing the economy. The statement reads: “We are all witness to the fact that from August 2020 to July 2022, the official exchange rate has moved from N381 to N415/$, representing only a nine percent increase. However, the parallel market has moved from N470 to N710 within the same period representing a 51 percent increase and a record 71 percent arbitrage with the official exchange rate creating a huge incentive for round-tripping, price gouging, sharp market practices, and inflation. “The NYCN is therefore shocked by the comment of the Governor associating the free-fall of the parallel market rates to NNPC, even though it is purely a monetary policy issue and outside the purview of the NNPC. “As a youth group, we have noted that the inability of the CBN to promptly release Joint Venture (JV) cash call funding from the Treasury Single Account (TSA) even when the Nigeria National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Ltd had adequate cash cover, leading to the loss of JV Partners' confidence to restore production and reap the benefits of today's improved oil prices. “We are in the know that for over three months now, dollar-denominated cash call payments amounting to over $400 million, properly processed, are yet to be paid by the CBN under Mr. Emefiele. “The combined impact of CBN's inability to promptly release JV cash call to restore production, the increasing losses due to crude oil theft, and production deferments has culminated in significant crude oil output losses of over 600, 000 barrels per day. “We find it curious that the apex governor seems to be unaware of the insecurity and huge oil theft in the Niger Delta which have continued to challenge the country's oil production and the oil industry and gas industry in general. At present, there are massive losses and declaration of force majeure across the country's major onshore production export facilities of Bonny, Brass, and Forcados. “At the current year-to-date average crude oil price of $107 per barrel, Nigeria is counting opportunity losses translating to over $64 million per day, and a monumental impact of about $2 billion per month. “We are taken aback that Mr. Governor is feigning ignorance that the country's rising petrol subsidy cost, as well as the rising cost of external debt servicing, are all obligations affecting the economy. These affect the NNPC's remittances to the Federation Account. “From January to June 2022, the cost of PMS subsidy has reached N2.2 trillion and it is estimated that the full-year subsidy bill may hit N5 trillion and N6 trillion in 2023. “Apart from government decision to defer the implementation of PMS deregulation, the subsidy profile is significantly influenced by CBN foreign exchange management. “It is however worth noting that the NNPC has recorded significant gains on production ramp-up including attaining 'first oil' production from the Anyala – Madu Fields and most recently Ikike fields which cumulatively boost national oil production by almost 80, 000 barrels per day. “Furthermore, NNPC's efforts towards attaining additional combined production of over 100, 000 barrels from fields like Obodo, Utapate etc has never abated despite the global setback recorded as a result of the effects of COVID-19 pandemic. “History shows that Mr. Emefiele is at sea on addressing monetary policy issues. We recall that in 2021, the CBN governor blamed Aboki FX for the depreciation of the Naira. He would later blame members of the Association Bureau De Change, which led to the stoppage of dollar sales to the group. At another time, he blamed the Naira's depreciation on activities of money laundering, terrorism financing as well as politicians. “Furthermore, Nigerians are bearing the brunt of the inaction of the CBN Governor as the Emirates Airlines, the flag carrier of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has reduced its flight operations to Nigeria over the inability of the CBN to repatriate about $85 million in revenue. “Was the failure to repatriate Emirates funds also caused by the NNPC? “The International Air Transport Association (IATA) had said Nigeria was withholding revenue worth about $450 million earned by foreign airlines operating in the country. Emirates said the planned reductions in its operations in Nigeria would take effect from August 15, 2022. “And in a manner that fits his erratic policy, he has at present shifted all blames to the NNPC. This is clearly a case of a bad workman who blames every other person for his inability to deliver. To us at the NYCN, Emefiele is tired and should be sacked by President Buhari. “From all indications since his failed presidential bid as well as his rejection by the All Progressives Congress, a partisan Emefiele has been doing all to rubbish the achievements of President Muhammadu Buhari and this should no longer be permitted. “As Nigerians concerned about the future of this country and before Mr. President heeds our clarion call to send Mr. Eemefiele packing from the CBN, we advise that the CBN considers among other options the World Bank's recommendation of adopting a single market-responsive sustainable exchange rate, improving access to forex through well-defined periodic forex auctions, and signaling a renewed commitment to price stability as a primary goal of the apex bank. “The NYCN further expresses the optimism that the NNPC's transitioning into a limited liability entity in line with the provisions of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA), and its regulation now in line with the provisions of the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA) would help resolve cash call payments delays as the company is now exempted from TSA, among others. “We also hope that the NNPC Ltd would compete favourably with its peers globally and this in turn would translate to more foreign exchange for the country as well as improved national energy security

This special service starts at 3pm GMT+1 while people can participate at www.healingstreams.tv. Meanwhile, a review of Day 2 of the July 2022 edition of Healing Streams Live Healing Services with Pastor Chris has shown that the phenomenal experience of Day 1 of the event set the second day for a whole new level. The Healing Streams Live Healing Services began at 3:00pm GMT +1 with the Loveworld Singers taking the lead in a sonorous session of praise which spurred people around the world singing songs of worship to Jesus Christ the King. Also, Pastor Deola Phillips began the service with these words: “We are the expression of God’s Word spoken of old; they are now manifest in us. The glory of God is seen all over the world through the Healing Streams Live Healing Services.” After a session of prayers, she shared thoughts on the love of God, expounding on Pastor Chris' teachings from Day 1, read from Jeremiah 29:11 and reminded the global audience of God’s thoughts towards humanity; thoughts of peace, divine health, and prosperity. She passionately spoke words of faith to all who expect miracles adding: “Today, this meeting is put together just for God’s purpose to be fulfilled in your life. You will be well today. You will be strong today. You will experience the peace of God today. You will experience the joy of his salvation today. Only believe.” Still building expectations, she shared remarkable testimonies from the publicity campaigns that led to the Healing Streams even as she disclosed that during one of the outreaches held by a team in India, a minister cast out devils from a woman who had been possessed for 35 years. “Today, the woman is sound and free”, she added. . Rev. Tom Amenkhienan, a senior minister at the Healing School, spoke on the impact of Day 1 of the Healing Streams and described the service as Heavenly. "This edition of the Healing streams Live Healing services has been so remarkable. This is the ministry of the Sprit in our day. So, today, you're going to take advantage of God's will for you. You will experience the peace and joy of salvation today," he said. He also shared astonishing testimonies, among which was that of Rajani, a Canadian who was unable to bend or lift her hands for four years. “The power of God surged through her during the service; now she can bend and lift her hands without pain”, he stated. Similarly, for the next segment, Rev. Ray Okocha took calls from healing centres across the world. Joining live to relate their experience so far and expectations were participants from Mexico and Poland. A participant from Poland was healed from knee problems which had lasted for 20 years. Concluding the segment, Rev. Ray emphasized this: “For you out there, you are next in line for a miracle. Healing is yours today.” Evang. Dr. Eddy Owase welcomed live testifiers on set to share testimonies of divine healing. Rajashri was diagnosed of stage 4 breast cancer and underwent chemotherapy, radiation, series of medication, and mastectomy. This condition rendered her helpless; unable to eat, walk, or even move. Participating in the March 2022 Healing Streams Live Healing Services, she was made whole. For her part, Zoey Ebinum was diagnosed of atopic dermatitis at 8 months old which caused rashes and scars on her skin for years. But this came to an abrupt stop after her parents participated in the Healing Streams. Admonishing everyone awaiting their miracle, Evang. Eddy said, “Wherever you are, your moment has come. The hour has come and you are next on the line. That same power that healed all the testifiers is present right where you are and you’ve got to take your healing. Get ready. It’s your time, it’s your moment!” As the melodious Loveworld Singers sang, there was an atmospheric change when Pastor Chris arrived and began ministering to the sick. Meleni from the USA received healing from umbilical hernia, multiple fibroids and cramps. A lady in the United Kingdom was healed of menorrhagia. Three years of bleeding came to an end as Pastor Chris ministered while from China, Wang was healed from a 14-year-long back and neck pain. There was also a flow of healing streams, as the weak were strengthened, lumps and swellings disappeared, and pains ceased. The man of God, Pastor Chris, continued with the ministration of the Word. Teaching from 1 John chapter 5, he pointed out that, “God has given us eternal life.” In his words, “Eternal life doesn’t just mean life that doesn’t stop. It is the term that qualifies the God-life — the type of life that God has. God has given us eternal life; the Bible is true. The claims and prophecies in the bible are true.” As the service came to an end, Pastor Chris gave insights on what to expect at the grand finale saying, “Tomorrow (Sunday) is going to be big. In your home, you’re going to celebrate because we’re going to pray for all the families around the world. We’re going to pray for everybody, we’re going to pray you, and we’re going to pray for the nations.” “This final session will transcend everything that has gone before. In her opening address, the director of the Healing School, Pastor Dr. Deola Phillips, welcomed the global audience to this glorious healing crusade. She intimated the audience on what to expect. She said: “In this month of joy, great shouts of joy will be heard around the world as the Healing Streams of God flow to you; changing situations and turning hopeless circumstances around to the glory of the Name of our blessed Lord Jesus Christ.” Pastor Deola as she is popularly called also thanked Pastor Chris for his dedication to the heavenly vision and mandate to take healing to the nations; a mandate that has transformed lives all around the world. She further encouraged the global participants to be responsive to every spiritual instruction in the course of the service and to open their hearts to receive supernatural blessings. A special video highlight of the March edition of the Healing Streams Live Healing Services had many praising God with renewed fervor as they glorified the Lord for His marvelous works. On set with Reverend Tom Amenkhienan, a senior minister of the Healing School, Pastor Deola shared perspectives on the impact of the Healing Streams. Expressing the excitement in his spirit, Rev. Tom said, “Each edition of the Healing Streams keeps getting more phenomenal. The March edition was another level, over 6.7 billion people were reached and many were healed around the world.” He related the testimony of Enoabassy, a baby born with club foot who could not sit properly. With great hunger for a miracle, his parents participated in the Live Healing Services. Enoabassy is now perfectly whole and seats and stands without difficulty. “Jesus Chris is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Today is your day. You make up your mind because all that God requires from you is to receive. God has planned this day for you,” said Rev. Tom as he reiterated the importance of active participation. For his part, Reverend Ray Okocha — senior minister at the Healing School and host of” How to Receive a Miracle” — discussed testimonies from the publicity leading to the program. He started with this remarkable statement: “The moment the man of God announced the date for the Healing Streams Live Healing Services, everyone began to prepare. From heaven, there was preparation as healing angels invades the earth. In hell, there was preparation as it was time for devils to pack up their loads and go.” Amongst several life-transforming testimonies he shared was one from Kenya where a man had collapsed in a bus, not breathing and without a pulse. Another passenger placed a Healing Streams flier on him and the man came back to life! The testimonies continues with Evang. Dr. Eddy Owase — another senior minister of the Healing School and host of “Real Miracles Today” — in interviews with several people who had exhilarating testimonies to share. Blessing from Cameroon attested testify God’s goodness. Following a slight headache that led to fever, vomiting blood, and a coma, she was diagnosed with liver and kidney failure. Given a 7 per cent chance of survival; she registered for the March Healing Streams. That program changed her story. The dead organs became brand new and the audience could not hold back shouts of joy and excitement, as they watched her enthusiasm. The Loveworld Singers led participants everywhere to exalt the Lord in psalms and spiritual songs, as the man of God, Pastor Chris, entered the auditorium. Pastor Chris declared the sovereignty of God and thanked the Lord Jesus for such an unforgettable day. He exhorted all with the story of the man at the pool of Bethesda from John chapter 5, and how Jesus the Son of God was sent to give direct access to the Father. He further started an exhortation on three important things: “I’ve got 3 important things I want to share with you today. We think that they are mere religious statements but that’s because most people don’t understand them. They don’t know the reality of these. I want you to keep these truths in your heart always.” With various references from the Scriptures, he cited the first 2, which are (1) God loves you and (2) You are born with a purpose. The man of God proceeded to the healing line. He ministered to the sick and the atmosphere was saturated with God’s presence. Wheelchairs and stretchers were vacated as the lame walked. Men, women, and children ran, jumped, rolled, and bent every way, all doing what they couldn’t do before their healing. All those participating remotely via the internet, as well as radio and TV stations in different parts of the world were not left out. Pastor Chris stretched forth his hands and proclaimed healing, health, and life to all, in the Name of Jesus. It was indeed an avalanche of miracles. The Lord poured out His blessings and many testified. Doubtlessly, stories and testimonies from this day will continue to flow and inspire the world for a long time to come. “To think that this is just the first day of three days in this global healing crusade. Oh, what the Lord has in store for days 2 & 3! Do you know anyone in pains, requiring a miracle? It’s not too late. The registration links are still available. Visit www.healingstreams.tv/3days to register. Also, share the program with your online community through your unique virtual center by going to www.healingstreams.tv/virtual,” Mr. Babasola, Media Manager of the Healing School said.

He wants you to come to a place of victory where you understand divine health, which is greater than divine healing”. He further noted that with countless lives transformed all over the globe, the “Healing Streams Live Healing Services with Pastor Chris is truly a place of solution; where people experience God’s love, wisdom and the supernatural manifestations of the healing power of God to a hurting and dying world”.

The “first concrete” pouring for the El-Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant Unit 1 has been performed by Alexey Likhachev, Rosatom Director General, and Mohamed Shaker, Egyptian Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy at a ceremony held to commemorate the historic event. Dr. Amged El-Wakeel, Board Chairman of the Nuclear Power Plants Authority of Egypt (NPPA), the owner and future operator of the El-Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant, awarded honorary plaques commemorating the first concrete pouring to His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Shaker, Egyptian Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Major-General Khaled Shoeib, the Governor of Matrouh, where the project is being built, Dr. Samy Shaaban Attallah, Chairman of the Egyptian Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Authority (ENRRA), Alexey Likhachev, Rosatom Director General, Alexander Korchagin, Senior Vice President of ASE JSC and Grigory Sosnin, Vice President of ASE JSC and General Supervisor of the El-Dabaa NPP Project Management. Mohamed Shaker and Alexey Likhachev also awarded members of the joint Russian-Egyptian project team in recognition of their outstanding efforts with commemorative medals. Earlier, on 29 June 2022, ahead of schedule, the ENRRA issued the construction permit for the El-Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant Unit 1, allowing concrete pouring to commence. “The construction launch at the El-Dabaa NPP Unit 1 means that Egypt has joined the nuclear club. Rosatom will build cutting-edge power units of VVER-1200 design in the Arab Republic of Egypt. We have gained experience constructing and operating NPPs with such reactors both in Russia and abroad. Construction of the nuclear power plant will allow Egypt to reach a new level of technology, industry and education development. The plant will be the largest project of the Russian-Egyptian cooperation since the Aswan High Dam. Having its own nuclear energy industry has been a dream for the Egyptian people for more than half-a-century, and it is a great honor for Rosatom to make this dream come true,” Alexey Likhachev noted emphasizing the significance of the event. Amged El-Wakeel, Board Chairman of the NPPA, welcomed the attendees and stated: “I would like to welcome all of you in today’s ceremony arranged to commemorate the pouring of the first concrete for the El-Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant Unit 1, which we are celebrating in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Shaker, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy and Dr. Alexey Likhachev, Director General of Rosatom. This day would not have been possible without the wise decision of His Excellency Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, to initiate the Egyptian Nuclear Project, following which all state entities sparred no efforts to achieve this common goal through a deep understanding of the nature of Egypt’s Nuclear Programme, as part of the comprehensive renaissance contributing to the new republic.” Mohamed Shaker also stated: “The ceremony commemorating the pouring of the first concrete for Unit 1 is a great delight for us. The commencement of full-scale construction of Unit 1 is a historic event for Egypt. The political leadership and the Egyptian-Russian cooperation contributed to the implementation of this ambitious project despite the challenges presented by the Covid-19 pandemic, which did not have a negative impact on the project.” The El-Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant is the first nuclear power plant in Egypt. It will be constructed in the city of El-Dabaa, Matrouh Governorate, on the Mediterranean coast, roughly 300 km north-west of Cairo. The El-Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant will consist of 4 units with a generating capacity equivalent to 1200 MW per unit using generation III+ VVER-1200 reactors (pressurized water reactors). This is the most advanced technology to date and it has already been successfully implemented and operated in Russia and abroad. The Rosatom State Corporation Engineering Division unites the leading companies of the nuclear industry in Russia and abroad. The Engineering Division ranks first in the world by the order portfolio and the number of NPPs constructed simultaneously across the world.

PHOTOS: RCCG Solid Rock Donates Modern School Building To Lagos Government---The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Lagos Province 40, Solid Rock Parish, Ojodu has donated a Modern School Building of 10 classrooms, its third in that community, to the Lagos State Government. The 10- classroom block complex built in Ojodu Primary School was handed over to the government in a brief but colorful ceremony held on Friday, July 8 at the school compound. Speaking at the handover ceremony, the Pastor In Charge, Lagos Province 40, Pastor Bola Odutola restated that, ‘’RCCG Lagos Province 40 has been providing assistance to support education development efforts by Lagos State Government through various projects.’’ Still explaining further, Odutola said, ‘’ as a church, we believe that education is one of the important sectors for the socio-economic development of any country and it is, therefore, essential that we all work together to assist the Government in delivering quality education for all.’’ He said, ‘’we also believe it is important for all the children to learn in a conducive and safe environment, hence the resolve of our church to support the Government continuously.’’ ‘’ We seek to mitigate the problem of overcrowded classrooms in this community thereby making the learning environment conducive for learners and educators. We are driven by a resolve to restore dignity to our public schools as most of us are beneficiaries of quality education from public schools.’’ ‘’We are, therefore, very pleased with the successful completion of the construction of this block of classrooms,’’ Odutola stated. While expressing gratitude to the builders and other professionals involved for their efforts, as well as the principal and staff of Ojodu primary School for their cooperation, Odutola urged the school authority to ensure that the new block of classrooms is well -utilized and properly maintained. In her response to the good efforts of the church, Lagos State Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Folashade Adefisayo, who received the school on behalf of the government, expressed appreciation to the church saying, ‘’ the state had a long and good relationship with the Redeemed Christian Church of God.’’ She said, ‘’ On behalf of Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-olu, we thank the church very much. We are proud of the relationship with RCCG. This is not the first RCCG church project I am commissioning as a Commissioner. My own first commissioning as a Commissioner was a school built by RCCG church in Lagos Island where they also gave school bags and a lot of school equipment to children. Again, I say thank you.’’ Adefisayo also urged the school authority to maintain the building and make sure the facilities are always in good condition. Also present at the event to anchor the formal presentation of the building was Pastor Brown Oyitso, Intercontinental CSR Missions Coordinator of RCCG. In his speech, he commended LP 40 and other provinces of the church for their swift and prompt response to the directive of the General Overseer, Pastor E.A Adeboye, asking all provinces of the church to impact positively on their host communities. Oyitso, who came with many other ministers involved in Christian Social Responsibility programmes of the church, stated that Christian Social Responsibility provides a conscious avenue for Christians to make a visible impact in various key areas that can impact society. “Where others see societal challenges as unscalable barriers all around the world, we see opportunities to take decisive effort to create solutions as we work with people, communities, leaders, and governments worldwide” he explained. It could be recalled that in 2016, RCCG Solid Rock Parish also handed over a block of ten classrooms to the same school. The school is perhaps the biggest public primary school cluster in the Ojodu community with at least three schools in the same compound. The new classrooms will help the school to further bring its student-per-classroom ratio to a good point. RCCG is a frontline institution in Nigeria and beyond, making massive impact in its corporate social responsibility projects. The CSR initiative of the church is sub-divided into eight identifiable sections tagged SHEMBAGS. The acronym stands for Social, Health , Education, Business, Arts and Culture, Government and Sports. Each section specifically targets needs in areas vital to people and societies globally.

From Abeokuta, through Ibadan, and now to Lagos, SuperTV market activation continues to gather momentum as it stirs consumers and customers to download and subscribe to SuperTV Zero Data App - to enable them stream and enjoy the best of movies for leisure and entertainment. In Lagos, the SuperTV activation team was gleefully received with cheers, as people milled around the activation site at Ikpodo market, Ikeja, from where they combed the Computer Village, and Awolowo Way and its environs. The moment was exciting with music and open dance from the gyrating foot-works of the professional dancers, to the accompanying rhythmic competition by the subscribers, the public and passersby. The fact that subscribers and prospects can watch movies on their smart phones, mobile devises and laptops without data, but airtime, brought relief to subscribers who were very concerned about the usage of data. Bukola Oloruntobi, female subscriber, who works in a Pharmacy Store, applauded the SuperTV offerings. “I like the SuperTV offerings. The convenient and flexible payment system using airtime instead of data is heart-warming. You know how it these day with data. Ahhhh! Data is really scarce and expensive. So, to have an opportunity to watch movies with airtime, even with as little as 200-naira, is a big relief and an opportunity to enjoy myself more - when I want to relax.” Whereas Bukola is excited about the flexible payment and convenience, Hope Egwu, a Food Vendor at Ikpodo lauded SuperTV for offering a product that is more assuring than others. “For me, is it not better to pay for SuperTV offering that you know you have the flexibility to choose the programmes you want, based on how much airtime you can afford, instead of subscribing to packages that determine how much data to buy and you don’t really have time to enjoy? I think I feel more comfortable with the SuperTV offerings, especially because, I have some control over what I pay, how much I pay, and what I watch. I have already subscribed, and I am enjoying a movie right now on my phone,” he said. Another excited prospect, Richard Olatunde, an IT Consultant, feels “It’s an interesting innovation to watch TV without feeding on one’s data, but to use airtime on a scalable mode. I’m eager to experience more of SuperTV.” Festus Oladokun, a student says it’s very good that he can watch movies, and other entertainment categories on SuperTV with his friends without having to worry about data that is meant for assignments and other serious business. “So, telecom services can come to this level considering the huge amount involved in accessing things on your phone many years back?” That was the reaction from Seyifunmi Jenyo, a Microfinance Banker. “Anyway, I hope to get to know more about SuperTV offerings. Mr. Odusami Adedayo Ademola, a civil servant said he couldn’t resist the electrifying moment but had to cross over the street to ask what SuperTV was offering. In today’s world, making financial services accessible is fast becoming a key area of concern to policymakers for the well-known reason that it has far reaching economic implications. To this end, financial inclusion has assumed a greater level of importance due to its perceived relevance as catalyst for economic growth since it is critical for attaining inclusive growth in an economy. In 2012, Nigeria took major steps in its journey by launching the National Financial Inclusion Strategy (NFIS). The main goal of the NFIS is to ensure that 80per cent of Nigerian adults are financially included by 2020. Before this, the formal use of financial services by the adult population stood at 36.3per cent in 2010. To achieve the 2020 goal, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) introduced strategies to spike innovation in the financial services sector in Nigeria and by 2017, one amongst the achievements was that the CBN had given over 20 licenses to mobile money operators, which has currently grown to 21. According to 2018 data from Enhancing Financial Innovation and Access (EFInA), 38.1million of Nigeria’s 106million (18years and above) adults or 36 percent of Nigerians remain completely financially excluded. In a recent survey by Augusto & Co on Consumer Digital Banking, only 34per cent of the respondents said they had experienced the service of digital banks. Only 17per cent of respondents above the age of 55 are aware of their services, while for people aged 41-54, the awareness rate stood at 31per cent. This spells the need to deepen the financial inclusion drive if Nigeria is to attain the NFIS target and accelerated economic growth. The apex bank may have missed the 2020 target of 80 percent for financial inclusion, but it stands a better chance of meeting the target of 95per cent by 2024, as industry players have argued that to achieve the NFIS target for inclusive economic growth, the financial sector must strongly leverage technology (mobile and digital channels) to promote financial inclusion and enhance access to financial services for the unbanked and underserved segments of the population. One of the financial institutions that has continued to leverage on technology to revitalize the industry via deploying its huge resources and vast networks to deepen financial inclusion in the country for inclusive economic growth is Heritage Bank Plc, Nigeria’s most innovative banking service provider. The MD/CEO of Heritage Bank, Ifie Sekibo, affirmed that banks cannot push financial inclusion unless they also push secured technology inclusion. According to him, Heritage Bank has continued to entrench financial inclusion across board via creating access to accounts and other financial products, savings, mobile money systems and payment systems that provide opportunities for financially excluded Nigerians and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. “Nigerian Political Parties Lack Ideology” – Joko, Mindshift Convener----The Convener, Mindshift Advocacy for Development Initiative, Mr. Joko Okupe, has indicted Nigerian political parties for lack of ideological direction. Mr. Okupe made this declaration in a media interaction held recently at the Mindshift corporate office in Ikeja, Lagos. Fielding questions from the press the Mindshift Convener argues that none of the parties in Nigeria contending and jostling for political power come 2023 is driven on the wheels of ideology. What directs the life and operations of a political party in a democracy, he said, is ideology. Ideology is the bulwark of the party’s culture. It stands tall as the oil or blood that runs the engine of the party and directs the actions of both the party officials and the membership. According to Mr. Okupe, “Ideology consists of the common beliefs, values, and norms of the party directed at defining the kind of society a party plans to build. It comes from a common vision designed by the party as a roadmap to the society in view. Ideology forms the operating framework from where the political parties draw their inspirations and strategies which are encapsulated into manifestoes and agendas and subsequently communicated to the public through their campaign communications. But can we say the parties have any ideological direction? How, for instance, can you distinguish APC from PDP. Because the parties lack ideology, so there are no distinctions in their manifestoes. Every party appears to be saying the same thing about: building infrastructure, providing youth employment, providing good health care and good education. But we know it is the same thing they have been saying since 1999”. Speaking further about the Nigerian state and the type of leader Nigerians will expect come 2023 he said, “There is no political party in Nigeria today you can say is a shining example of what a political party should be. They all lack ideology. We are in a Nigerian state variously described by political scientists as predatory, prebendal, parasitic, patrimonial, neo-patrimonial, crony, kleptocratic, venal, greedy, etc., that has created a crop of leaders who in themselves are selfish and do not understand their own historical mission. Under this situation he posited that we need a certain kind of leader. “We need a leader who is sufficiently knowledgeable about the task ahead, and understands the context behind Nigeria’s current historical trajectory, and would be ready to tackle it headlong. We need a leader who is bold, brave, and courageous - who can break the bounds of our stranglehold. A leader who understands the need to build cohesion in a multiethnic and multicultural society. We need someone who can confront orthodoxy and demolish our fault lines without diminishing our disparate cultural and ethnic values. Such a leader needs to have a clarity of his vision and how he wants to achieve it. I have not seen much of that in the present crop of party contenders for the post of the president in 2023.” Speaking on the solution to the Nigerian leadership problem, he said that Nigeria needs an upgrade in the reformulation of the state, the leadership class, and the citizens. The state is malfunctioning because of its hackneyed structure which tilts towards centrality and unitary-federalism. That is an aberration in a multiethnic and multicultural state. The leaders are selfish and visionless, attracted only by the fancy of their kleptomaniac tendencies. They do not understand the very purpose of life, and hence can hardly understand the essence of leadership. The followers are famished and lack the understanding of what liberal democracy is all about. In the most part, they lack enough knowledge to appreciate that they are actually the king while the politicians are their servants. They mistake the concept of leadership in a political setting with the concept of kingship in a traditional setting; and this makes them subservient to the politicians who should be accountable to them. This contradiction makes democracy difficult to practice in Nigeria. Under this scenario the politicians weaponize poverty as an instrument of domination against the citizens. Following this, Mr. Okupe advocates for the mass enlightenment of the political class and the citizens. For him, both the political class and the citizens are under bondage, and need to be enlightened so that they can be liberated to develop the country, without which Nigeria remains undeveloped for eve. This is the reason he convened the Mindshift movement. Explaining further, Mr. Okupe said that, “Mindshift Advocacy Initiative for Development was created out of the vision and understanding that our response to whatever situation we find ourselves, either in our individual terrain, group terrain or national terrain, is directly a result of how we think. The bible says, as a man thinks in his heart so he is or becomes. So, if we understand that, we will all push for a Mindshift or a change of how we think. That is what will actually move us away from where we are now. So, the Mindshift movement is actually focused on shifting mind-sets from negative to positive. It is a non-governmental and non-partisan organization. It is focused on redirecting the mind-set of Nigerians from the route of destruction in every area of lives. “If a man wants to be destructive or disruptive, it is through the power of his mind.” “There is so much capacity in the power of the mind that the way and manner that the mind is directed determines a man's outcome. Even for us, as a lesson, other nations of the world are doing incredibly well is due to the different mind-sets that they have. The average Nigerian mindset is anti-progress and anti-development. How can we have progress and development without working on the re-orientations of the mindset we have? Even when government decides to run a campaign on changing attitudes, the success will depend on how people think.” We must have that clear understanding. That essentially is the mandate of the Mindshift advocacy. Joko Okupe who is a brand management and marketing communications expert of about 35 years, and who has consulted for many globally reckoned organisations, is set to bring that knowledge and experience to the front burner in the management of the Mindshift advocacy, with the sole aim of galvanizing the Nigerian people to a new way of thinking and reasoning that will lift this country from one milestone of development to a higher milestone of development.

As the global congregation joined in singing along, and participants could tell that there was something special in the air; the anointing was palpable. Sustaining the flow of the anointing, the Director of the Healing School, Pastor Deola Phillips, giving a short but powerful opening remark, took her words from the last song by the Loveworld Singers. She declared: “Healing streams from heaven are flowing! Already we are in the flow of the Spirit, and wherever you are around the world, I want to welcome you to this healing crusade, the largest and the most impactful, touching all the earth. You are welcome to the Healing Streams Live Healing Services with Pastor Chris!” Reverend Tom subsequently highlighted that the preparation for the programme was phenomenal across the world over the months. This is like nothing that’s ever come before; it’s going to be phenomenal. There is nowhere in the world where people are not planning for this. Everybody is now aware that this is the biggest healing crusade the world has ever seen” Biggest, largest healing crusade with Pastor Chris heralded by outpouring of Salvation and Miracles on Day1 Pastor Chris healing a woman down with kidney disease Evangelist Eddy Owase, a senior minister of the Healing School and host of Real Miracles Today, coordinated the segment of a plethora of testimonies, which elevated the faith of participants and stimulated more expectations from the programme. Protogene Ahorushakiy, 25 years, from Rwanda, testified that in 2017, he had fractured spine in an accident and encountered paralysis from the waist down. He was confined to a wheelchair for four years and was going from hospital to hospital looking for a solution. Protogene narrated that while participating in the October 2021 Healing Streams Live Healing Services from a healing centre in his town, and after Pastor Chris prayed for the sick all over the world, he stood up for the first time in four years. According to him: “The doctors ran all sorts of tests, but all they could tell was that, beyond all hope of recovery, I had somehow recovered overnight.” Mario Sandoval from Australia, in late February 2021, had after steaming a fish for his dinner, suddenly suffered an inexplicable domestic accident. According to him, the steaming pot fell and spilled 10 litres of boiling water onto his left leg. The burns were severe and extensive, he was left walking on crutches, and the doctors told him he would need a skin graft. Mario Sandoval declared: “I was desperate for a miracle”. He said at his pastor’s encouragement, he participated in the March 2021 Healing Streams, and after Pastor Chris prayed for the sick all over the world, he cut away the bandages on his leg to find it covered in brand-new, baby-soft skin. Biggest, largest healing crusade with Pastor Chris heralded by outpouring of Salvation and Miracles on Day1 Mario testifies live The testimonies that flowed stirred faith in the hearts of many. In the stormy atmosphere, Pastor Chris arrived and proceeded over to the healing line and began to minister healing to the world. It was curious that at a word, and sometimes just a gesture, demons fled and there was immediate healing. Cancers dematerialized, autoimmune conditions vanished without a trace, and people who had erstwhile been unable to stand up got out of wheelchairs and began to run. Pastor Chris first ministered to the sick in the auditorium; thereafter, the Man of God began to teach from the Scriptures about the power in the Name of Jesus, and why we should pray and live in His Name. he cited Ephesians 1:20 to convey the basis of Jesus’ authority. “God set Jesus at His own right hand, When you set someone at your right hand, you give them the power to act in your stead. Jesus is at God’s Right Hand, far above principality and power and might and dominion and every name that is named. No wonder the Apostles used the Name of Jesus. This is what Christians need to rediscover,” he said. People all over the world received the instant impact of this revelation. Many all over the globe received healing as Pastor Chris called up their cases in prayers and prophecies. In the flow of healing, Juliana, participating from her living room in Kenya, got up from her couch, praising God; she had just been healed of kidney failure. Yanick from Curacao got healed of stage 4 cancer of the breast and liver. Wurilaga from China was suffering from congenital heart disease but when Pastor Chris said, “You are healed!” her face lit up and she jumped up from her chair, rejoicing at the good news. There was a harvest of miracles. Tumours vanished, heart failure was reversed, autoimmune disorders disappeared, and all manner of oppression ceased as the demons that had held people bound fled at the mention of the Name of Jesus. The testimonies started coming in almost immediately, with people calling in from places far and wide to confirm that they had been healed in their homes and in healing centers. The was divine proclamation towards the end of the session. Pastor Chris declared, “All night and all day, these healings will continue until we meet again tomorrow, because this power that was transmitted to you wherever you are participating from will not leave. It stays with you.” The beginning was fulfilling, revealing there is more in store for participants in the next two more sessions holding on Saturday and Sunday. Nigeria’s agriculture sector over the years has experienced myriad of challenges ranging from sub-optimal yields, shrinking resources, post-harvest losses, fluctuating commodity prices and poor adaptation to changing climate systems, among others. There are also problems at different stages of the value chain: scarcities in quality of inputs and varieties, inadequate funding, slow adoption of mechanisation, and a high reliance on subsistence production techniques which have hindered scaling, limited processing opportunities with direct impacts on output and value generation. As the world population is projected to increase to 9.5billion by the year 2050, there is critical need to rev up food production and enhance value addition across the value chain segment of key agriculture food products, especially as the development of Agriculture continues to remain a critical issue for Nigeria’s economic growth, poverty reduction and in ensuring food security of the country, as over 70 percent of rural households depend on agriculture as their principal means of livelihood. All of these have contributed to an underdeveloped commodity marketing system. The outbreak of COVID-19 added extra layers of challenges to the above-mentioned issues. Measures put in place to manage the spread of the virus led to restrictions in the movement of people and goods, which in turn made access to critical inputs unavailable and increased costs in the few places where they were found. These developments impacted smallholder farmers who make up the bulk of players in the industry across the country. Given this development, many Nigerian financial institutions started investing in the agricultural sector. Heritage Bank is one of the banks that has taken pride in the past nine (9) years of its operations to bridge the agriculture value chain financing gaps. Today marks its worthy milestone in the banking landscape, as Heritage Bank celebrates nine years of entrenching seamless service delivery in the business of banking, it has also remained resilient in hastening the transition of agriculture from traditional, low-productivity models toward a modern, high-productivity agricultural sector. This has been made possible through its strategic collaboration with key stakeholders like the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and Federal Government to prioritise the agricultural sector to attract sizable investments that has continued to help drive expansion and achieve competitiveness as well as increase financing to key parts of the value chain, particularly small-holder farmers in a bid to modernize their practices and increase outputs. Under the various intervention agricultural schemes: Anchor Borrowers Programme (ABP), the Nigeria Incentive-Based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural Lending (NIRSAL), Commercial Agriculture Credit Scheme amongst others, Heritage Bank has made huge success of the schemes by making funding available to both small holder farmers and SMEs (Prime Anchors) in their efforts to increase agricultural output especially rice and wheat production. Heritage Bank’s Exemplary Intervention Heritage Bank Plc, by every instrument of measurement has distinctly and evidently made funds available to both individuals and corporate organisations in their efforts to increase agricultural output in line with governments policy and CBN intervention strategies. The bank has palpably financed critical agricultural projects in the country and, in the process, supported many farmers. Since the nine (9) eventful years, the bank has opened its doors to its teeming customers, the showpiece of its operations is a full gamut of completed, on-going and nascent people-oriented programmes designed to create, preserve and transfer wealth across generations in the country. This line of operation is steadily yielding great results as the nation continues to move its economic base towards the direction of the future, with a robust emphasis on thoughts about diversification of the county’s economic base. For some period of operation, Heritage Bank is being positioned into a bigger and stronger financial institution that is placed to play a significant role in the much-envisaged transformation of the nation’s financial sector in line with the country’s stature as one of Africa’s largest economies. With the increasing recognition of agriculture as the ‘beautiful bride’ of Nigeria’s economy, Heritage Bank’s unfaltering energy and commitment in agricultural financing which is fast gaining new interests and more attention within the business circles is helping to rebalance the sector such that Nigeria would soon become the food basket of the African continent. As agriculture continues to be business, financing provides tremendous opportunities for lenders and borrowers, either at small or large scale. Heritage Bank has not only encouraged governments, corporate and individual (including young people to embrace optimal productivity and greatness in this sector), it has taken the front seat in the drive to support them in the attainment of noble agricultural virtues by funding various agricultural projects in several states in the country Promoting Agriculture Value Chain The Bank is also not relenting in its efforts at boosting the agricultural base of the nation by make farming profitable to stakeholders and attractive to the youth. It has continued to create market linkages between smallholder farmers and Anchors/Processors, creating an ecosystem that drives value chain financing, improve access to credit by the smallholder farmers by developing credit history through the scheme and much more. MD/CEO of Heritage Bank, Ifie Sekibo affirmed that the institution is committed to promoting development of agriculture and ensuring that all levels of its value chain can be financed profitably. According to him, the bank’s involvement in the sector dated back to many years ago and it has always been at the forefront of ensuring overall growth and development of commodities products in Nigeria. For these feats, the CBN’s Governor, recently announced the apex bank’s N41billion intervention in wheat production in Nigeria for commodity associations and anchor companies. Heritage Bank has continued to work with CBN and other stakeholders such as wheat farmers association of Nigeria, wheat farmers, processors and marketers’ association of Nigeria, Lake Chad Research Institute and other development partners, flour mills of Nigeria and several seed companies and others to support over 100,000 farmers in wheat production. Also, Heritage Bank further factored consideration of value addition of financial services and products flowing to and/or through value chain participants to address and alleviate constraints to growth that have distorted product financing, receivables financing, physical-asset collateralization, risk mitigation products and financial enhancements. According to sekibo, with its assigned position Heritage Bank would play a pivotal role in ensuring that there would be an effective and readily available platform for market linkages among players in the agribusiness value chain, involving FMCGs, warehouse operators, collateral managers, processors, farmers’ cooperatives to transact in a seamless way that guarantees quality, quantity, payment and delivery. Partnerships As Growth Strategy The Bank believes in teamwork and that is why partnership with various critical stakeholders and institutions remain a major pillar in its strategy to realise these objectives. These partnership over the period brought about the support of small holders’ farmers and Anchors in Oyo, Ogun, Niger, kebbi, in various communities in Kaduna and Zamfara State in food crop cultivation, cash crop/horticulture, and food processing (in rice, maize, palm oil, casava etc) under NIRSAL and Prime ABP. Meanwhile, in line with its collaborative initiative Heritage Bank Plc entered a partnership agreement with the Nigeria Incentive Based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural Lending in a bid to improve the agriculture value chain by increasing financing to the sector. The partnership aims at identifying and securing financing of impactful agribusinesses within all the segments of the agricultural value chain. The financing was designed to cover segments from primary production of raw materials and sustaining the processing industries to exportation of the produce. Ifie Sekibo, the Managing Director of Heritage Bank, offered a wonderful explanation as to the reason for the partnership. To him, the partnership will avail credits at very low interest rates to commercially viable agricultural projects that have been packaged and fully de-risked. Before then arrangements have been concluded by the bank to revolutionise the agricultural sector by widening and deepening the participation of digital generation in agribusiness. Sekibo was convinced that support of NIRSAL would help the bank develop a digital agribusiness platform that will strengthen distribution of human capital that meet parameters of agribusiness. NIRSAL, agreed to serve as a catalyst for national agricultural revolution by boosting commercial agricultural productivity, competitiveness, value addition, market access and enhancing food security and will deploy a mechanism of de-risking the agricultural value chain in order to encourage investment by banks and the entire financial sector. Divisional Head, Agribusiness, Natural Resources & Project Development, Heritage Bank, Olugbenga Awe said that the bank has strategically put in place measures to ensure fidelity to contract agreements and adherence to fair trade in making sure that farmers earned decent profit for their efforts, which is critical to the sustainability of the programmes. According to him, “the bank’s participation in the programme has paid off as we currently have a rich pool of farmers’ data to support grains production. “The registered farmers in our database can easily be identified and trained with the support of extension services to plant any grains as the season demands. This flexibility provides continuous cash flows to the famers and ensures that more farmers are enlisted to join the programme,” he said. The Divisional Head, further disclosed, “In our quest to participate in the rice value-chain through the ABP, we supported hundreds of small holder farmers in various communities in Kaduna and Zamfara State.” “The sector is driving the next set of entrepreneurs and we are committed to the development of the sector using appropriate technology and modern farm practices. We walk the talk in Heritage Bank as demonstrated in our portfolio allocation to agribusiness,” he said. He noted that the large-scale operators are enabled to expand existing capacities and industrialise for local consumption and export. This scheme, however, informed Heritage Bank partnership with the Oyo State government in a multi-billion-naira project to give agriculture a boost in the state. Under the initiative, the bank is supporting the Oyo State Agricultural Initiative, OYSAI, a programme designed to revive agriculture, boost agro-allied businesses and create a massive empowerment programme for both youths and women across the state through the creation of thousands of jobs in the sector. This huge and laudable project that is spread across 3,000 hectares of land in 28 of the 33 Local Government Areas of Oyo State, is in three stages: food crop cultivation, cash crop/horticulture, and food processing. Poultry farming in Oyo State – N29million received from NIRSAL and disbursed to farmers Maize cultivation in Ogun State – N157million received from NIRSAL and disbursed to farmers for cassava cultivation in Kebbi State – Transaction size is about N500million approved by CBN. Heritage Bank Plc signed a N232 million pilot phase of the out-growers agreement with Biase Plantations Limited (BPL), and its joint venture partner, PZ Wilmar Limited to produce best-in-class palm oil, using the ABP model. Heritage Bank is supporting agro investors involved in this initiative with funds and advisory services and indications are that the programme has already led to more than 50 per cent increase in food production in the state. Partnering the CBN Heritage Bank’s partnership with CBN over the years has revolutionised the agricultural value-chain with consideration to value addition, marketing and other backward and forward linkages. Recently, the Bank in partnership with CBN set up plans in disbursing a whopping sum of N41billion to farmers from 14 states for the expansion of the wheat production project. As part of bridging the Agric Value chain financing gap, the Bank, however, registered the wheat farmers with the Lagos Commodities and Futures Exchange (LCFE) for successful disbursement, as the farmers are expected to cover about 111, 025 Hectares of land to attain huge milestones in wheat production. Meanwhile, being the pioneer Bank to finance the first-ever large scale rain-fed wheat production in Nigeria and also a participating financial institution (PFI) under CBN’s Anchor Borrowers’ Programme scheme, Heritage Bank has taken adequate steps to create an enabling environment for sustainable growth in wheat production; thereby partnering with LCFE for all value-chain stakeholders to interact and trade ownership titles to specific quantities of wheat by registering members for their clients on the commodity exchange platform. Speaking at the media briefing engagement with the pressmen, the MD/CEO of Heritage Bank, Ifie Sekibo stated that the partnership is basically to consummate Wheat Seed Multiplication Project under the CBN’s Brown Revolution Initiative, in order to ensure due diligence on loan administration, monitoring and recovery, which would bring about increase in the domestic production of wheat and close the wide supply gap in the Nigerian agricultural space. Also, Awe explained that via the strategic partnerships Heritage Bank has achieved vast footprints in agribusiness. “For example, through our partnership with Triton Aqua Africa Limited and on-lending support from CBN, Heritage Bank has provided N2 billion for aquaculture to reduce our heavy reliance on fish import. “Nigeria’s current annual demand for fish is estimated at 2.7 million metric tonnes and we currently produce about 800,000 metric tonnes. “With support from CBN through Commercial Agriculture Credit Scheme CACS, Triton is now producing about 27,000 metric tonnes and their projection is to reach 100,000 metric tonnes in five years. “From recent forecast, they will meet that projection easily. The bank is also supporting rice farmers under the ABP in Bakolori, Zamfara, Sanga in Kaduna and Soyabeans farmers in Rijana, Kaduna. Heritage Bank also has ongoing projects across the country,” he said. On Heritage Bank’s involvement in ABP, the Bank provides on-lending funding to aggregated farmers to grow various products that will serve as raw materials to the processors, thereby ensuring market linkages and access to the market as well as reduce importation and conserve Nigeria’s external reserves. In 2016, the sums of N54,892,728.00 and N248,413,350.00 were sourced from CBN and disbursed as loans to 185 rice farmers and 414 soya bean farmers respectively in Kaduna State. In 2016, N37, 995,300.00 was disbursed to 259 rice farmers via 11 cooperatives in Zamfara State. This line of action has readily compelled young and vibrant minds into getting involved in providing affordable financial solutions that can help agribusiness investors in various aspects of agriculture. Presently, the bank is practically involved in preparing a good future for the youth, which is imperative, while recognizing the need to expand the horizon of young people, broaden their options and increase their choices. The institution realized that the youth are needed as solution providers, incubators of ideas, promoters of innovations and implementers of positive change through agriculture and entrepreneurship. Recognitions No doubt Heritage Bank’s unswerving lending to the agricultural sector has earned it a deluge of accolades. To its portfolio Heritage Bank Plc, earned the Nigeria’s Most Innovative Banking Service Provider in 2017 that was bestowed at the inaugural Nigeria Sustainable Banking Award convened by the CBN “For Sustainable Transaction of The Year in Agriculture.” The Nigeria Agriculture Awards (NAA), at its annual event convened by AgroNigeria (The Voice of Nigeria’s Agriculture), to appreciate immense efforts of those who have contributed to the success of the agriculture sector in the country, announced Heritage Bank as the Agric Bank of the Year. According to NAA, Heritage Bank was selected in recognition of its footprints in the Agric space, especially the Triton Aquaculture Project. Heritage was adjudged best SME Bank for 2018 by Capital Finance International and Agriculture Bank of the Year 2018 by Nigeria Agriculture Awards, MAA....https://www.thegeniusmedia.com.ng/2022/03/06/heritage-bank-9years-of-driving-food-sufficiency-via-bridging-agric-value-chain-finance-gaps/

The Genius Media Nigeria reports that Roman Abramovich has confirmed he’s selling Chelsea Football Club. This reliable platform gathered that the Russian who has owned the Blues since 2003, distanced himself from the club over the weekend by handing over his ‘stewardship and care’ to the trustees of Chelsea’s charitable Foundation. His decision comes amid Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in which the UK Government has faced calls to freeze Abramovich’s assets, as well as anyone who allegedly has ties with Vladimir Putin, as part of its sanctions against Russia. Abramovich has always denied any link with Russia’s president but just days after handing over the stewardship of the club he’s now confirmed he’s walking away from the west London outfit. ‘I would like to address the speculation in media over the past few days in relation to my ownership of Chelsea FC,’ the 55-year-old said in a statement on Tuesday night. ‘As I have stated before, I have always taken decisions with the Club’s best interest at heart. ‘In the current situation, I have therefore taken....https://www.thegeniusmedia.com.ng/2022/03/02/breaking-roman-abramovich-sells-chelsea-and-will-donate-profits-to-ukraine-lutche/
