Solphiequeen:

My dear applicant, if you miss the verification for your state, there is no second chance.
I did my verification yesterday (Ondo and osun state), the crowd was overwhelming and I finally had the chance to do mine around past 7, some applicants were yet to do theirs when I left, don't know if everyone will be attended to. The crux of the matter is that you cannot be allowed to do the test of u are not verified.
Verification is in 3 stages, your local govt certificate will stamped and signed on, thereafter, your details will be verified and documented (you'll have to file your documents), then you go for your scoring, your certificate will be scored based on your CGPA. 50 marks for first class, 40 marks for Second class upper. This process might seem easy but please don't be deceived because it's tasking and time consuming, Moreover the officials did not help matters, they were reluctant to work and they left for a so called recess for more than an hour, thereby leaving students dangling... Today is the CBT test. All the best to those awaiting theirs.

Hi Solphie, did Lagos have its verification yesterday?

At my centre, NO. In fact, that was what i had until this morning. I had to rush to the NPC office in town to get it done. Perhaps people from other centres can share their experiences.

Bro, from the look of things before you left the centre , do you think the documentation will extend till tomorrow?

You should still go to the venue if it's close by. Several people are still outside the gate waiting for verification in most centres. Cheers

Thank you.

I'm from Lagos and i just realized that screening was supposed to be today for me contrary to what i thought earlier 'tomorrow', cus i mixed up the dates. Does anyone know if it'll still be possible to get documented tomorrow before the test? those at the venue, can you confirm this? I feel really stupid right now.

Hi. Are the Medical Certificate and Recommendation letters expected to be brought to exam/interview venue? Asking cause it wasn't stated in the advert.

Well what can I say? Nothing is impossible? Yeah, appropriate.

It's up to everyone of us to utilize our gifts towards breaking bounds and reaching seemingly impossible Heights.

Harvard will take the second. I attended a harvard business school seminar in Accra and I asked the admissions officer the lowest GPA they admitted in the previous year. He told me they had someone with a 1.8 but this person founded a company worth 10 million dollars straight out of college. Do you know the number of perfect GPAs and perfect GMATs rejected from HBS yearly. Op go and do stuff and wow the admissions committee with your accomplishments.

Well, my point is both of the two types of applicants will be admitted. Many perfect GPAs are rejected yearly, yet other perfect GPAs get in.

What we can both agree on however, is that despite the entrepreneur's low GPA, his demonstrated business pedigree will get him in.

His business pedigree will not get him a fully funded scholarship though.

Extraordinary achievement and extracurriculars. Go out there and do stuff. Join an NGO or a research team or do something for your community and then apply again with your accomplishments. If a first class student who has worked for let's say 5 years at KPMG applies to harvard business school along with a third class student who started a business straight out of college that reaches 5 million dollars in revenue within a 5 year period, who do you think harvard will take in?

Both of them.

I'm a graduate already, currently serving, I was few seconds from 4.00 but that's past already and I'm over it but after getting two rejection mails from chevening I was beginning to wonder if any one with a less than 4.0 ever got a fully funded scholarship. My essays were good(some lecturers attested to this) my work experience is more than two years so I'm forced to think that my grade is the issue here

Mind sharing your Personal Statement essay?
Would love to pick ideas.

Where do you normally see them? Any particular area?

I have only seen 2 in Nigeria. And one in diaspora.

By the way, OCA2 gene is responsible for eye colour mostly. A mutation here can cause blue eyes.

Waardenburg syndrome is another cause, a genetic condition that can make each of the two eyes have different colours like one brown, the other blue. With other signs of course.

Used to think coloured eyes are special till I came to Akwa Ibom. Coloured eyes are normal here.

Grey
Blue
Green
Blue-Green
Light Brown
and one rare colour that makes it seem like the carrier is blind.

Any idea of the tfare from Ikorodu?

As at the last time I went from Ikorodu it was #1400, shouldn't be more than #1500 now.

Please don't go through Ikorodu if you plan on leaving on the said date , they don't take off as early as the Ojota buses.

No, Was a student. Given the interview is for 9:30am. I doubt you can. You might want to take the risk of getting there late though.

It takes about 3 hours, without traffic to get from berger to Run. If you can get a bus from ojota, the first bus usually leaves on or slightly before 6:30am.

I'll teach you how to quote properly. wink

It's pretty easy, just click on the 'quote' option below my post. You'll then be directed to a page where you can type your comment.
Upon opening the comment box, you'll find the cursor hovering after a bracket, you just have to shift the cursor downwards, then type your comment.
Give it a try.

Nice job Ada. You're doing well.

FATE OF ADA......... continues

The envelope was quite light, I walked into the cubicle where we change into our work wears and opened it shocked shocked shocked shocked I no fit shout! Dollars ke? I wan mad... I rushed for my phone and browsed the exchange rate for that day, o boy eh... 50k wasnt a joke! Happily I dropped the envelope into the pocket of the shorts I wore under my work wear and rushed to say thank u but unfortunately the meeting had kicked off proper and I couldn't intrude. I went into the kitchen and unspeakable joy filled my conversation with anyone I could find... Didn't tell anyone what he gave me though, in fact they all thought he wanted to make sure I was OK after boss lady's scold.
After work, I went home and showed the money to Jenny, explained all it was I needed her to know.
Jenny: hope say the guy no dey like u Sha... (amidst dancing)

Me: No oh for wetin na? He can never like me sef. I just think say the guy na nice guy Sha. Chai babe if u come crush today eh, no be small motor dey there o. We get money for naija o.

Jenny: ehe... We will get there. Thank God for this gift o

We had a great evening chatting and planning about better days and about how much we will affect lives when we get rich.

Next day, on my way to work I got a free ride and I happily hoped in. The big bear who's about 6FT tall told me he needed a sales girl in his mom's super market. I wasted no time advertising my girl- Jenny
She's a graduate of economics from Nasarawa State University I added. She's customer friendly and really nice.
Him: OK, you sound like she's perfect. Give her my card yea
Me: sure sir.
Mike as I learnt was his name dropped me off just right in front of crush Meals and I bade him bye as I left in a hurry for work. One thing lead to the other, Jenny got the job and her pay was even bigger wink

Few months later, I won the best staff of crush meals award! 'how come I splashed water on a customer few weeks ago and madam deemed it fit to give me this award?? I kept asking myself as I took an order into the hall.
Me: sorry mam, the cook needed to use the best she could find for ur order so it took a little bit more time.
Customer : (smiles) you have great skills for convincing people don't you? No wonder your picture is on that wall'.
I smiled and served her meal and just right when I took my tray to leave, she tried to speak to me but was interrupted by a call and so I had to stand by and wait till the end of the call. During that call, all I could picture was her accent (not Nigerian), her skin which was so clean and her beauty. Gosh I must look like this woman when I grow old, I said to myself. She was finally done with the call and she signaled me to come closer.
Her: Honey, can I get a warm wipe please?
Yes mam' was my reply.
I got her wipe and she simply said a thank u. My grandson is on his way she added. I hope you have chicken nuggets? I nodded and she dismissed me.
....... To be continued.

Hey boo, you're doing a really good job. Keep going. I like the story.
Do you mind doing a little descriptions like how your room looked like, arrangements. etc ... You get?

Of course they are. About five of them.
Private Universities don't come all perfect you know?
They however remain better in terms of delivering quality service.
