Smart politicians like Obi should learn from the APC's primary elections. I strongly believe that if care is not taken, they might run the general election the same way they conducted their primary elections - nothing would be free and fair. |
Celebrities › Alexx Ekubo's Humanitarian Legacy by THELATTERMAN(op): 8:53pm On May 12 |
Alexx Ekubo was a good actor. But beyond the screen, he spent years championing youth empowerment, education, and humanitarian causes that reach far beyond the film set. Here are some of his real contributions to society: 1. In 2023, Alex Ekubo was named Rotary Youth Ambassador of the Year by Rotary International District 9142, recognizing his sustained commitment to youth growth, confidence, and leadership development across Nigeria. 2. In 2020, he was listed among the U.N.'s Most Influential People of African Descent Under 40, an initiative connected to the United Nations that spotlights emerging leaders driving positive change on the continent. 3. In 2021, he won the Nigerian National Award of Excellence as Global Social Giving Actor of the Year, a formal recognition of his charity work and community contributions. 4. Through his partnership with the Oladele Fajemirokun Foundation, he visited and supported public primary schools in Lagos, bringing attention and resources to early childhood education. 5. Beyond formal awards, Ekubo consistently used his celebrity platform to mentor young Nigerians in entertainment, entrepreneurship, and personal development — making his influence as much off-screen as on. Previous trend: https://www.nairaland.com/8292198/relocating-abuja-me-decideSo I relocated to Abuja in January this year, and it's been a mixed feeling. But no regrets. As a recent graduate who's yet to start/complete NYSC, I didn't bother looking for a job. So, I've been mostly indoors writing content for my clients - I'm a content writer. But now, I'm getting cabin fever from being indoors 24/7. I'm supposed to join NYSC Batch A, Stream 1. Unfortunately, I have been moved to Stream 2, which camping will commence on the 21st of May. I can't stay cooped for another one month before camp. I'd go mad if I do - lol. So, please I'm looking for an on-site gig to keep me busy. Something to make me leave home once in a while! Like I mentioned earlier, I'm a content writer. In fact, I’m top-rated on Upwork, with a 100% job success score. But, It mustn't be a writing gig. I can take on any roles requiring critical thinking, research, and time management skills. I live near Efab Estate, Lokogoma, and would appreciate anyone who could link me with a job opportunity. Thanks. |

jayce232: Since u are a freelancer, what are u coming to Abuja to do? It is same life everywhere, u just want to expose yourself to unnecessary spending. Why not get a solar & continue your freelance while u plan on how to develop your house in your current location? If u are not coming to Abuja for a job, I don't see any need to come. House rent in abuja is expensive. You know, freelancing...working remotely, is a cool thing. But as a young graduate, I'm looking forward to entering the labor force and getting real-life experience: good or bad. Secondly, I have been in Kogi State all my life. From nursery to University education, I did all in Kogi. So, I feel the need to change environment. |

Kubwa is your best bet but Lugbe is nearer to town...
Kubwa is still cheaper than Lugbe A lot of people are talking about how Kubwa is a fast-developing town in Abuja. Does the place get a steady supply of electricity? |

Sucre6: He's A SOUND Advice If you are considering lugbe make sure it's an estate, if not don't bother renting an apartment not in an estate, demolition is eminent, same goes with kubwa, in fact, there are satellite villages inside the metropolis, avoid them with all your strength.
Now hear this, if you want to stay close to town and considering your budget, karu site and jikowyi phase one is your sure plug, karu site is very close to town and there light is constant too, the vibe karu site give is same like inside the metropolis ,
Again, don't you ever rent a house that is not situate inside an estate in Abuja especially lugbe and kubwa
quote me to give you a tour as soon as u arrive here, Welcome to my city, Thank you, boss. How much do you think a self-contain apartment in an estate would cost especially in Lugbe and Kubwa? |

I'm planning to relocate to Abuja next month, that is January 2025, after completing my undergraduate study in one of the neighboring states. I'm confused about the best, most affordable place to stay.
My major needs are security, electricity, nearness to town, and affordable housing. I have been looking at Kubwa and Lugbe, but I would appreciate some input from Abuja residents here.
Note: I am on a budget. So, places like Asokoro, Utako, etc are out of it. Secondly, I'm a freelancer; hence my need for an area with a steady electricity supply.
So, where in Abuja would you suggest and why?

One of my strategies is to first bill them! Yeah, bill him too. I have a friend who was always calling and asking for a loan. The guy wasn't taking “No” for an answer. One day, I picked up my phone and called him, requesting for urgent 2k.
To cut the story short, he has stopped billing me. |
