I have read a couple of posts by some Nairalanders enquiring about the best business they could invest their money into for maximum ROI. So, I have decided to help by listing the top four businesses to start in Nigeria right now, using the PiggyVest Savings Report 2024. 1. Food Business According to the report, 83% of Nigerians surveyed spend their money on food and groceries. Food is an essential commodity, and even T-pain cannot stop us from eating. In fact, if a bag of rice goes up to N400k, Nigerians will buy it. So, if you want a great ROI on an investment of 500k, 1M, or 1.5M, consider putting your money in agriculture. I have also read a lot of comments urging some ops living in the South to import foodstuff from the North. You don't necessarily have to sell raw food materials. With 1.5M, you could open a mini-restaurant in a very busy area and sell cooked meals! If you are not a good cook, hire someone who is and monitor them closely. For those with 500k or less, you could find the nearest Fulani village in your region and buy pepper, tomatoes, or okra at a very cheap rate and resell at a price lower than the prevailing market rate to market women near you! If you are going to try this, ensure you already have people to resell to because these things are perishable. 2. Transportation Business Another great business idea you could invest in is transport. Hikes in fuel prices cannot stop people from commuting: market women must go to the markets, office workers must report to their various offices, and so on. People travel daily - just visit the nearest pack and see for yourself. With 500K or 1M, you could buy a used bike and put it on the road; you can run it yourself or give it to someone and have them credit you a certain amount weekly. Credit alerts are sure for you weekly. If you have 3M or more, you could buy a fairly used road-worthy car and run an interstate transport business. Again, you don't have to be directly involved! 3. Bills and Utilities About 38% of Nigerians are currently spending their money on bills and utilities. So, if you are a developer, consider building an app that would help people pay their water, electricity, and other bills, charging them small fees for each transaction. 4. Clothing Business About 35% of people living in Nigeria are spending their money on clothing right now. So, yes, you could get a solid ROI if you invest your 500K or 1M in boutiques. I know boutiques are on almost every street now, and most people think the clothing business is highly overrated, but the statistics say otherwise. People are still buying clothes out there, and the fact that we are approaching the end of the year makes it more fascinating. The sweetest thing about starting this business is that you don't even need a physical outlet. You could turn your WhatsApp status to your outlet. Buy the goods, upload a few pictures of the clothes on your status, and receive and deliver orders! Alternatively, you could start a laundry business. With 500k, you could buy a washing machine and a generator and start from the corner of your room. Yes, laundry service is still part of the clothing business. The interesting thing about starting a laundry service is that you just need to learn the basics. I have a couple of friends who run this business, and they make at least 150k monthly. All these businesses have their risks, and so is everything else in this life. You could convert the risks into money or nothing at all. |

Tochex101:I haven’t tried it and there’s no need for me to try it anymore, at least not now. If you’re a student, you can check any of the following departments in your school: zoology and biology. They should have binoculars that they can lease to their students. |
Tochex101:You can order one from Jumia. |
Please: Recommend affordable but good binoculars for bird surveys on a university campus. The pricing shouldn't exceed 50k. Thanks in anticipation. |

I want to fund my Apple ID with at least 21k. I urgently need to purchase Grammarly Premium for business and academic purposes. Note: I have a Dollar Credit Card, provided by Grey. However, it is not working. I will pay 2k (as a service fee) if you can help me come up with a feasible solution. |

250k? |
I will use the Goals Wizard app. Here are my reasons: 1. It’s available on App Store. 2. It has unique features, such as creating milestones for my goals. For instance, if I want to start my own business in December 2024, with the app, I can set things to be achieved each month until December. This a great way to mark my monthly achievements toward the bigger picture. 3. It user friendly. Thanks.
