Ahead of the 2019 general elections, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has said it will not merge or enter into any alliance with any political party for any purpose. The party, which also claimed to have paid its dues, challenged genuine party members to remain faithful and committed to the dreams and aspirations of founding fathers of the party. These were part of the decisions taken at the end of a meeting between the members of Board of Trustees (BoT), led by Mazi Okey Kanu and the leadership of its chapter in the United States of America, led by Kpajie Onochie. The delegation, while briefing their Diaspora counterpart on political developments in Nigeria, solicited their support and contributions, financially and otherwise, to the growth and stability of the party, particularly as the next general elections in 2019 draw near. They, however, frowned at a situation where politicians who have benefited from the party, turn to work against the party. They cited the case of Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha and Senator Chris Anyanwu’s betrayal as an example. “Our electorate’s hopes are frustrated whenever their representatives decamp to another party. “Such acts neither promote nor solve APGA electorate issues, but, only magnify the selfish bent of the defectors.” They, however, commended members of the party in Abia, Bayelsa and Rivers Houses of Assembly, as well as those in the House of Representatives for holding strong, despite challenges from the ruling parties. They equally extended their gratitude to APGA’s National Secretary, Labaran Maku for holding the party’s structure in Nassarawa State; Dr. Polycarp Dankor in Kaduna and the immediate past national secretary, Sani Shinkafi of Zamfara State for sustaining APGA ideals in their respective states. Meanwhile, the ruling party in Anambra State has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of deceiving Nigerians with their “Change” agenda. They said APC has failed Nigerians and said the APC has not performed on the change which they promised Nigerians. “They have rather inflicted more pain and hardship on Nigerians. “Our economy is demonstrating enormous decay, unseen since 1984. Nigeria continues to mire in crony, nepotism, ethnicity, sectionalism, which is at the root of corruption.”

The police in Abia State have paraded 24 suspected criminals in Umuahia. One of them was a 24-year-old commercial tricyclist simply called Samuel. He was said to be a member of the three-man gang that robbed, raped and killed a 65-year old grandmother at Ofeme. The incident happened on October 8 at about 9pm. The Commissioner of Police, Mr Leye Oyebade, said in Umuahia, that the victim, Mrs Anthonia Dike, was returning from Jos on a business trip when the three hoodlums, who rode on a motorbike trailed the bus in which they were traveling, from Okigwe in Imo State to a point along the Ofeme axis of the express road. They blocked the bus and dragged out all the passengers into a nearby bush . They dispossessed them of their wares, cash and other valuables, separated the men from women and had sex with the female passengers. He said the suspects dragged the 65-year- old woman into the bush, where they raped her in turns. “Having satisfied their evil sexual desires on the 65-year old grandmother, and were ready to go, one of them pulled out a gun, pointed it on her middle nose region and pulled the trigger. The woman died instantly,” Oyebade said. Okorie who struggled to exonerate himself of the crime, told newsmen that he was not the one that killed the grandmother, but the two men he carried on his bike, who are now at large . “I was not the one that killed the woman, but the two men that I carried on my bike. I am the pilot that carried them, I cannot say that I don’t know what they were doing, but I only took them there and waited for them to finish. I did not follow them to rob or kill anybody. The two men I carried, robbed, the people, and killed the women,” he said. Okorie who said he lives at Agiriga area of Okigwe, said he was in the bush waiting for his two friends without knowing that they were raping the women.

Lagos - Rapper and YBNL head honcho, Olamide has dropped a new song titled 'Orobo'. The Fuji rendition was produced by Young Johnn and once again displays Olamide's dexterity as a lyricist. His ability to communicate to his audience through relatable lyrics is just about what keeps Olamide on top of his game. Interestingly, on this single, Olamide creatively recreates US top charting single Panda by Designer with his unique razz flavour. The rapper and the entire YBNL crew- Adekunle Gold, Lil Kesh, Viktoh, DJ Enimoney, YBNL princess; Temmie are currently in London for the anticipated YBNL UK concert which will hold on Saturday, the 9th of October, 2016 at the Eventim Hammersmith Apollo.Source: www.heavenland.forumside.com/index.php?topic=17 mynd44 , missyb3 , ijebabe |
