Not new. That was one of the reasons the late Zulu king reintroduced the reed dance to encourage virginity amongst their young women but I don't think it's having the desired effect.
South Afriicans pride themselves as the most sexually liberated country in the world and they are paying dearly with HIV and teenage pregnancy ravaging the entire country.

That's the problem. If it does not suit your idea of things, it is a lie. That's kind of childish from you old man.

Good morning. Nice talking with you.
Tell me why you think it suits yours. I am waiting for you to convince me.

SO, everyone that supports selling at a profit is a member of APC?

The way you guys reason, I wonder why I bother?

Better stop and think. If something costs N1200 for you to buy, would you sell it at N700?
And who told you it costs that amount in the real sense? The same crooks in government? Or where you there when they arrived at that figure?

But in his “clarification” to NAN, Ajiya said subsidy has not been paid to any marketer in the last nine years — understandably because NNPC is the sole importer of petrol via contracts with suppliers.

From excerpts above, it is safe to say that you pay the landing cast to contractors and suppliers, then sell to depots at below half price of landing cost, then they add their margin to arrive at exactly half the price at filling stations.

My question now is, since you are running at a loss importing PMS, how are you able to declare profit instead of losses?

You people just like to confuse yourselves.
The Nigerian government has been lying to Nigerians for ages now concerning the happenings in the oil and gas sector. The sleaze going on in that industry will blow your mind to shreds.
PoliticsRe: NNPC: We Are Selling Petrol At Half The Landing Cost — But It Is Not Subsidy by themanderon: 1:22pm On Aug 20, 2024
nairalanda1:
We don't have electricity and petrol because we sell them below the market price, in the name of subsidy, and have been doing so since the 1970's.

The first warning signs were when we had fuel queues in 1976, and power cuts from 1978.

But since we 'had to help the poor' we continued.

The result...the power and petroleum sector depreciated because there wasn't enough profit in the system to fix and upgrade and maintain things at the same time.

Right now, power for most people is charged below the production cost of N160-170 per kwh, except for Band A people who pay N209 and above, and even then, government is planning to subsidise universites and hospitals on band A. Add the fact that band A people make up 20% of the customer base of our electriciity sector

Meaning our power sector loses money. ANd here is the scary thing, before the BAND A price increase , everyone paid below the production cost of a kwh of power. EVERYONE.

I haven't even mentioned things like massive power theft , among other things. And then the corruption which arises in part because since we don't pay the discos and gencos decent money, their workers supplement their income by bribes and so forth...including ilelgal conncections.

The result is the power sector has been operating at a chronic loss for decades...even now, government owes the sector N2 trn or more in unpaid subsidy costs. Let's not even talk about the debt owed by Nigerians.

Compare with the GSM sector who at least have some control over price setting....tell me, when was the last time you bribed an MTN worker to connect you to the network when your airtime ran dry?

Sell at a loss, operate at a loss. Feed a child one egg and two grains of rice a day, dont complain when the same child scores minus 40 in his end of term examinations.

You run something at a loss, issues start.
You this person. You claim not to be a member of APC but I see you supporting all their flawed policies on every thread. Just continue.

RomanceRe: Lady Calls Out Her Bestie For Allegedly Snatching Her Man by themanderon: 11:38am On Aug 20, 2024
Women who have female besties are living on borrowed time. The basis of friendship for female besties is gossips, gossips and more gossips. The day the friendship goes south they will use those gossips against themselves. Women and girls are very brutal when it comes to this.
This lady may have confided in the same supposed bestie who used whatever she told her against her.
Women be wise and keep your relationship and family matters from your bestie to avoid stories that touch. There are no allies in the jungle.

Dialogue with who? A bunch of self-serving criminals who rigged their way into power? The only thing the Nigerian government has always understood is violence. Ask Niger Delta militants and Boko haram terrorists. Dialogue is not a term that exists here.

It was as though he knew he will soon be leaving the earth hence some of those memorable gospel songs he sang like "This world is not my home and Across the bridge.
Truly he was Gentleman Jim. smiley.
