The legacies is much more connected to the originals than the vampire dairies.
And moreover the most powerful witches, vampires, wolves are all in the originals.
There is no need bringing characters from vampire dairies, as in what can they offer except some little drama and romance.
But original characters brings action and war 100%.

it's a spin off of the 2 series

Seems you like the originals more than TVD
Hope is the only one from the originals
Alaric, the twins and the other black teacher subbing for the spell teacher are all from TVD
Sheriff Donovan too as we saw in episode one
So I'd say it's more inclined to TVD than TO

Most spin-offs usually struggle but spin-off of a spin-off? I loved the 1st episode but they lost me with the dragon and gargoyle. I was into the mystery behind Landon and the knife but the dragon and gargoyle was just overkill

And everything is possible, just like in the supernatural, Everything including vampires, witches, dragons, demons are all characteristic of a supernatural world.
Like sarzman said, "How can they protect the kids from creatures that do not exist?"
I think the statement "Do not exist" explains why we are now seeing these creatures, being to the fact that, creatures like dragons had never existed in new Orleans, in the originals and in the vampire dairies.
So its like a powerful witch is responsible for bringing this creatures now.
But whatever the case, it makes it interesting because one way or the other, the older originals like Freya, Rebecca, finn, etc might get involve when things are very very serious.
If possible, vital appearances from klause and Elijah.

if you followed TVD you'd know Esther mikealson turned him into an original vampire for a while before he crossed the traveller's boundary and came back as human(he'd have stopped aging for a while then)

The makes had made it clear before the starting of the series that, new creatures will be introduced into the series and i think the episode two has just confirmed it.
Its actually dope introducing these dangerous creatures in a series that vampires, werewolves and witches have dominated over a thousand years.

Let us see how these three dominant powers can succeed when creatures from hell attacks the school.
The series is actually promising for what we should expect in the future, like last episodes and season two.
It kinds of looks like the combination of Merlin, Harry Potter and the originals together all in a series.
Remember this was how game of throne started before it became a bomb.
The legacies has a promising future.

Silas wasn't just a vampire

Which turned him into a vampire with special psychic abilities which included reading minds and controlling them
That was how he was able to control bonnie
He mind controlled her, he didn't compel her!
An original can't even compel a witch

The fact that a vampire could not compel him was quite strange .

well I think there's an explanation for this, I don't think he was responsible for the fire
His mysteries would soon be unraveled, and I think he's a supernatural creature too judging by the fact that he couldn't be compelled

They didn't really give hope any formal intro, they just assumed we all know who she is you know

yea you should still be able to understand it, though they are some great storylines you'd miss
Then you should see the vampire diaries too because most of the characters in legacies are from TVD, if you do you'd understand the origin of alarics twins

Yes you are 100% right but remember that devina in the originals rose up kol from ashes and being that hope is the most powerful witch ever, more powerful than Delilah, Esther and devina, so anything can happen.
