The characters were not interested because of the childish storylines, had it been the apocalyptic storyline we just talked about were presented to them.
I am 1000% sure that they will all be interested and since its a war against all supernaturals, then we will be seeing casts from vampire dairies too.

The writers felt that the chapter for the originals ended and they had to create a new series.
So the cast didn't quit, their stories just ended.
Although I agree with you with the part that legacies is just juvenile

Legacies‘ fall finale felt a little like Silence of the Lambs, subbing in Hope Mikaelson for Clarice Starling and replacing Hannibal Lecter with a twisted necromancer who’s way too charming for his own good. (I’m not the only one who finds him charming, right? Like, in a Jack Sparrow meets your worst nightmare kind of way?)
Anyway, Hope paid the show’s latest creature a visit on Thursday to learn more about Malivore, but I think we can all agree that what Hope really learned about… was herself. Within minutes of entering the Necromancer’s subconscious, she found herself back at Rousseau’s, where the gross-faced ghoul repeatedly tricked her into thinking she was about to see her father. (Falsely promising us Joseph Morgan is honestly the cruelest trick this guy could ever pull!)
And the taunting only got worse from there. “You want to know how your dad is, or should I say where he is,” the Necromancer told her. “After all, he did die to save your life — a lovely gesture for such a mercurial man.” Even after being temporarily ejected from the Necromancer’s subconscious, Hope powered through, insisting that she’s made peace with her father’s death. (Well, that makes one of us.)
Hope eventually broke down, admitting that she needed to know whether or not Klaus is spending eternity with someone. (“No one should ever have to be alone like this!”) But just as she arrived at this breakthrough, she was once again ejected from the Necromancer’s subconscious — and right into an argument with Alaric.
And those two got a lot off their chests: Alaric told her she isn’t letting herself grieve, Hope accused him of having a drinking problem, and they once again established that he is not her father. (Speaking of him being a father, where were Lizzie and Josie this week? Did I miss a line about them?)
In the end, Hope got the answers she was looking for: Malivore, which was designed to “wipe the scourge of the supernatural,” can be unlocked by three keys, the knife being one of them. Additionally, the Necromancer delivered a Klaus update: “He watches over you every day. He did die with love in his heart, and he doesn’t regret his choice. But he won’t find peace until you do. Good luck with that.”
While the Necromancer kept Hope distracted with this news, one of his zombies — Rafael’s girlfriend Cassie, who helped him remember that he caused her death — stole the knife and helped send it to Malivore. With the knife destroyed, the first seal is broken… and the Necromancer is free. Gulp.
Also worth discussing…
* I loved all the throwback references in this episode — first Rousseau’s from The Originals, then Damon’s “snatch, eat, erase” technique, then one of the zombies turning out to be a Bennett witch. I even enjoyed Dorian’s speech about Stefan murdering his parents. (There’s no such thing as an unflattering reference, OK?)
* Speaking of Dorian, I’m glad he nipped MG’s non-bunny diet in the bud before he totally lost control. MG’s one of the good ones, so I need him to hold it together.
* I hope to write about it at length in the coming weeks, but if I don’t get around to it, let me say it here: I’m honestly blown away by this show. I had my reservations at first, but it has established a firm identity — especially with these last three episodes — and I’m hooked. Characters are complex and engaging, and the mythology is unfolding at an intriguing pace. Kudos, all.

Just as I said in my last update Lizzie takes after Caroline, and Josie is as meek as Josie snr
Thank God Raphael broke up with Lizzie now before the whole thing escalated
She should just date MG, dude is crazy about her
I really don't like what plec is doing to this show
But I'll see it through, I don't know if it would be renewed tho
This episode was very teary mehn

That's why the show has a title of it's own, and not a derivative of TVD/TO... We should be a bit surprised about the storylines but not too expectant either. Like someone said, "the movie is promising", so let's all just sit tight and enjoy the thrills.

I was super disappointed.
Even supernatural was more dark and more mature than this Nonsense, Juliet plec is trying do.

The villains in supernatural were very powerful, as in a mixture of horror and supernatural powers in high places, demons, hell, Lucifer himself and dark gods.
supernatural keeps you on your feet with suspense and horror.
But this episode 4 of the legacies is a joke and a ridicule to The originals, the vampire dairies, supernatural and even Merlin.
Its like horror in Nicleledom, cartoon network and kidsco.
Its like making an horror series for 1 to 10 years old kids.

Juliet plec is mad but she don't know it.
Bro i am seriously angry at Juliet plec.

Yeah she is trying to save her twins.

I think the twins pregnancy that Caroline had in the vampire dairies was real.
As in she was truly pregnant in real life and they had to use her life pregnancy for the twins.

Maybe Rebekah could show up with her real life pregnancy if the writers decided to include the story on how she and Marcel's child will grow up and be powerful.
we never can tell after all it is the legacies of all the originals, not just klause.
Remember the child Freya and her girlfriend will bore with the help of Vincent.

I feel as time goes, these children will be added into the show, particularly that of Freya.

Remember the reason why Vincent refuses to help be the father of the child is how dangerous and powerful the child will become, just like hope.

They've been reports that if Caroline wasn't actually pregnant they wouldn't have needed to add the twins to the show
They had to fit in her pregnancy somewhere
in regards to Claire holts pregnancy who knows
They talked about a cure for Rebecca at the end of TO so maybe she got it and lived her happily ever after

It is high time we move on from the originals and vampire dairies.
This is a whole new series.
By the way, Rebecca wont be featuring in the legacies, maybe next season because right now, she is pregnant in real life.
so Rebekah is out of the question when it comes to legacies.

Truth is that, i am enjoying the show and we need to give the spotlights to these new casts, they need to grow and be famous just like the casts in the originals and vampire dairies.

Bringing back familiar faces like Klaus will take away their shine and popularity, which is not fair to them.

The twins think she's on a recruiting mission but that's not her actual mission

Klaus appearing in a cameo is like opening an old wound that was hard to heal. As much as I like him, I don't want to see him, except they are going to make him a season regular

well so far so good, its been action all along and that is what makes the legacies and the originals to be different than vampire dairy.
No teen love drama and i hope they keep the legacies this way.

Well one way or the other Klaus must appear, maybe towards the ending or in a flash back.
But if ever he returns fully, then he will be a rugular.

seeing damon will be epic again.
I hope they all agree to come back to the series.
I read it was Klaus that asked not to be part of the series anymore and Elijah pulled out as he cant be in the series anymore without klause.

The writers are hoping Klaus have a change of heart.

We can't keep seeing main casts from the 2 shows
It's a spinoff of the shows
A different series entirely which just has its origins from TO and TVD.
So even if we get to see Klaus it could be a flashback, hallucination,or a dream
Klaus and elijah are dead dead there's no coming back for them
We should focus on seeing characters that are still alive
Like Rebecca making a cameo or something
The series is still new it has to develop its characters
Not just bringing back old casts for the sake of good reviews, they won't grow that way
Let's just focus on these new characters and stop chasing the return of dead characters

Nice review and i must confess, the legacies keep getting better and better and this episode three is the best so far, everything was just perfect from the storyline to the acting to the music and the speech alaric gave towards the end.
I watched the 3rd episode over and over again for five times, lol.

Hope is a really really beautiful girl.
Anyways back to the series, we must really give the actresses a thumbs up, they are playing their roles very perfect.

I still think, just as you have said that there are more to landon.
It was no mistake that he was drawn to the knife, there is something about him that is not right at all.

Kudos to lizzy though, for the containment spell she did, she might be annoying but she is the most intelligent and she is my favourite.

There is a huge part of me that wish klause can just show up when watching this 3rd episode, during the attack on the school.

Adding these facts I'd say the dragon and gargoyle wanted to protect the knife from getting into the wrong hands which could be landons hands
Because at the beginning of this 3rd episode we see 2 men trying to steal the knife and the gargoyle killed them to protect the knife
So I guess those new supernatural creatures actually want to keep the knife safe
