You might have flashed the wrong CWM Recovery image for Gionee P2. Download the Walton F2 ROM/Firmware from the link below, follow the instructions carefully (using a laptop/desktop) to flash your phone back to life...

After removing and re-inserting the battery, are you able to boot into the CWM Recovery by pressing and holding the Power + Volume Down buttons?

Titanium backup does not backup your ROM but your apps and data.... You will see Backup and Restore. I hardly use it.

Having flashed CWM, you can boot into Recovery and backup your ROM + every app and data.


My best ROM for Gionee P2 is the UNTOUCHED JELLYBEAN ROM. It has 3G on both SIMs. The camera bug can be fixed even on new versions of Gionee P2.

I am enjoying this Untouched Jellybean ROM. 3G on both SIMs, camera working fine. It is very similar to the JellyMixi ROM, except that the JellyMixi ROM camera bug refused to be fixed on my phone.
I thank God I have found a beautiful bus stop with flashing custom ROMs on my Gionee P2, and that is Untouched Jellybean ROM.

I have now discovered that I can take Screenshot on the Untouched Jellybean ROM without the gravity box, except that it is bit different from the Gionee P2 stock's. In the P2 stock ROM you first press the power button then volume down button and hold together, but in the Untouched Jellybean ROM you have to press and hold both buttons at once. Besides, I discovered that gravity box makes the Settings shortcut to crash on both ROMs. Thanks

Really encountered a lot of problems before getting a suitable custom ROM for my phone. infact I bricked my phone twice...maybe because my gp2 is d new type(509/510 phone storage). But finally i change it and am currently rocking kitbean ROM and everything works.

If you have someone close to you with Gionee P2, you plead with them to get the CWM recovery flashed on their device (if they don't already have it), then backup the ROM and transfer to your sd card and use it to restore OR download and flash the JellyMixi ROM.

There was a huge scarcity of gionee p2 somewhere around December 2013 to the point that the price went up as high as 18k..

It just wasnt available.. The newer ones since around February 2014 or there about seems to have a variable change in the firmware.. Meaning there was restrictions with rom porting..

Advise for you will be.. To flashed the Untouched Jellybean rom and you won't have camera issues.. Plus it's dual 3G too and as raw and natural.. Bug fixed too..

Find it and try it out..

Tye the gionee stock rom came with some features that do eat up your ram.. Which makes the fone slower after a while..

Getting a custom rom sounds like a good idea cos most of them have a better ram management to deal with the hanging issues and also dual 3G..

A good custom rom i normally recommend is the JellyMixi rom and it's very OK..

Unfortunately, since you bought the fone April this year.. Then am sure you bought new version of p2 with different firmware unlike the first batch..

What this means is that.... U might experience camera bug issues if you flash a custom rom on it.. Whereby fone restarts when trying to snap pics..

My advice.... Stick to stock rom if you are gonna be using your camera much and use Greenify to hibernate background running apps that eats up your ram..

And pls uninstall unnecessary apps..


And also use root Uninstaller to remove some stubborn follow come apps if your fone is rooted..

In fact am tired of typing..
