exmaysn12000:£845 a month (for up to 9 months) for courses in London = £7605 |
uchiha09:No she didn't |
FTO2019:Public Health. Have they confirmed your deposit? |
CAS from Sheffield Hallam finally came through for my sis yesterday. One quick question @justwise @Kenny4smart @emmynent @nattty @DeehoneyHomes @Gtessy @segunotiti Can she start filling in her Student Visa application before her POF matures? She is using a $ dorm account and has like 2 weeks to maturity. Will she be able to book an appointment without uploading the supporting documents or paying any fees? or should she wait until her POF matures? Thanks guys |
exmaysn12000:1. Yes 2. This is not actually correct. You should also have £680 a month (for up to 9 months) for courses outside London = £6120 for your dependent. So your final POF will be £10645 + £9207 + £6120 for both of you. |
kaffy055:Thank you. Same number I called all day yesterday and couldn't get through. Tried it now and I spoke to someone, deposit confirmed. Anything to do with pre-CAS and CAS is until early October like you rightly said. So fingers crossed till Pre-CAS. @tajmal Sheffield Hallam University |
jesusbae32:I used a UK bank. |
kaffy055:Thank you for your response. Do you happen to have a number for the finance department? |
@Kenny4smart @emmynent @nattty @DeehoneyHomes @Gtessy @segunotiti Thank you guys for your responses earlier again regarding Sheffield Hallam University. We paid the tuition fee deposit via bank transfer from the UK on Friday, Sept 17 and we got a mail with reference number however we are yet to get an email confirming the payment of the deposit. I put a call through to the Nigerian office and I was told they do not have access to see anything regarding payment and to wait for an email from finance or so. This is Tuesday and no emails yet. I have also tried to call the International Office and it keeps going into voicemail. How long did it take from the date of payment to the date you got the confirmation of payment email? Is there any specific email I can send the reference number I got to? Thank you once again |
Enraf:This is false on so many levels. I have 2 Masters degree from the UK. I got a Tier 4 visa for the first masters and did an extension within the UK for my second masters. All I had to do was show proof of academic progression. There was no GAP in my studies and I did not have to come down to Nigeria to re-apply nor was my first degree used to qualify me for my second masters. Several people on here have also stated that they have 2 masters degree from the UK or going to the UK for another masters despite the first masters obtained in the UK and the GAP, so what are you on about? cc @aamey15 |
aamey15:Aston University Birmingham City University University of Sunderland University of Derby |
Jimkola1:There shouldn't be a problem. All I am saying is that it is on you to prove why a further course will be essential to you going forward. |
Patnuel2015:This is wrong. You can do a MSc to MSc degree in as much as the second MSc degree is a deeper specialization or will help you achieve career progression. |
aamey15:Yes you can. You should not have a problem with applying for a second degree. I have 2 masters degree from the UK and I know a couple of my mates back then who finished from Coventry University and went ahead to do MBA at another University. You will need to have a good personal statement though and should be able to convince the admissions team that doing this MBA degree will help impact you with the knowledge to grow your business or expand your business into other countries. Good luck! |
@Kenny4smart @lookers191 @tajmal Thank you for your responses. |
oyukuwife:Took her about 10 weeks. She applied for September 2021 intake from the 1st week in July. Around 3rd week in August, after she called, she was told her admission has been differed to January 2022. She got the offer this month - September 3rd. |
Hi everyone, @Kenny4smart @emmynent @nattty @DeehoneyHomes @Gtessy My sister is off to Sheffield Hallam University this January. She has been issued an unconditional offer. I would like to know how long it takes for the pre-CAS interview if she pays her deposit by Friday? Will she be required to submit her 28-days bank statement before she would be allowed to do the interview or before CAS is issued? I have sent an email to the University about this but we haven't heard a response. How is the pre-CAS interview like in terms of Duration? I reckon it will be via Skype? Thank you in advance for your response |
Greetings my elders, Quite an educative thread. Just finished reading from 500 - 672 and i say thank you to all you guys for your immense contributions to helping people integrate into the UK culture. I am due to come to the University of Sheffield this Sept for a postgraduate course in Data Science while my DW will be my dependent - no kids yet. I need your help as to the best way for us to settle down in the UK. I have looked on UK job sites and I see that there is a lot of jobs around Data Science and i believe it is on the shortage occupation list - 2135. I already have more than 5 years IT work experience and a recent 2 years work experience as a Systems Analyst here in Nigeria. As regards getting a job i know i would need to temp work as an assistant in a supermarket or amazon so as not to breach my term time work limit. As for DW, she studied Microbiology in Nigeria and has worked in an hospital for 3 years as a health worker although she was basically in the children and midwifery department - NPower . Based on fatima04 input, I was hoping she could get a temp job as a care assistant for about 3/4 months before transitioning into the Health Care Assistant roles via NHS. Or can she get a job directly as HCA with her current study and work experience? Our eventual target is for her to become a Nurse. Will she be able to transition into a Nurse even if she has to go via this route: A level 4 Cert in Nursing https://www.reed.co.uk/courses/nursing/299893#/ & top up Nursing course from University of Derby https://www.derby.ac.uk/online/nursing-courses/nursing-studies-top-up-bsc-hons-online/ or just she continue to take other courses in HCA until she gets to Management Consultant level 7 as stated by fatima04? One more thing, can a couple be allowed to stay in a studio or we can go for a one bedroom? If she gets a job outside of Sheffield, will she be able to rent an accommodation alone so as to boost her credit score in terms of payment of bills, council tax etc? Thank you for your input |
