If the keywords of your gigs have fetched you great orders and deals before now, please don't tinker with them. My guess is that some of those keywords have become less popular lately. Don't worry, they'll turn green soon.

Ignore my advice if they don't begin to improve after 1-2 weeks.

I've read a lot of comments in this thread and learned a lot even though I've not really attained my desired goal... I'm a new seller on fiverr... I've been active for close to 4months now...I have 2 gigs for writing and virtual assistant... I've made 12 sales so far with total earning of around $180+...I never bought reviews...i just try to improve my appearance by updating and optimizing my gigs... However, I'll like if someone can advice on how to better improve so I can attain level 1..

Yea, I understand the importance of optimization but stop doing that when there's no need for it. Anytime you tamper with keywords, you lose your current position for a while. 12 sales in 4 months, that's an average 3 sales monthly. Things can get better. Since you don't have much review yet, you can't charge premium. Meanwhile, make sure you're not leaving money on the table. Don't sell yourself short.

Create more gigs (think what other services your clients need that you can deliver). Also, consider charging more with gig extras. If you are really good at what you do, never forget to ask for a tip.

Some of us were lucky to hit it fast, some of us weren't. Continue to keep your heads high. God bless

I don't know if this will work out, but try it.

Find someone to send you an invoice and you transfer. But I'm afraid nobody will be willing to do that because the fund is meager(relatively speaking).

Exactly! That's the same thing I am facing. My response rate had dropped form 100 to 98%. Same with completed orders.

You have to respond within 15 minutes less the bots mark you down. I also noticed that cancelation of gigs adversely affects one's account: I had a recent experience with a customer who made a large custom order and refused to communicate for over 48 hours despite my persistent messages to him. The chap decided to cancel the order, says he wanted to test his card or something - can you imagine? Anyway, I sent him the cancelation request and after that I have been on 'late 90s' ratings since.

Going forward, always insist that they CONTACT YOU FIRST before placing an order to see if you are available. This is good for level 2 sellers and above as you ought to be getting sales organically.

Finally, I noticed if you optimize your gigs before evaluation day - descriptions, images, videos and tags - the system will rank you on first page within 24 hours and you will start getting organic sales. Provide your account is in the GREEN of course. This is from my own experience thus far.

Nice one bro. This month didn't end the way I expected. I was thinking I could make about $1200 and I am running short of that goal. Most buyers don't come back to mark their order as completed, so I have to wait for 3 days for it to get automatically marked as completed. This is basically what is holding me from reaching my target. I have delivered 3 orders and with other 3 order in queue.

I also noticed that my response rate isn't increasing even when I reply all messages in less than 30 minutes after they were sent. Due to this decrease in my response rate, I wake up inbetween sleeps to ensure that messages are responded to at most 1 hour after they were sent.


I agree with you that we need to create new thread to discuss fiverr business/sales. I am only afraid that the exchangers will also fill it with their exchange adverts. While it is important to create that thread, I think we need the mods to help us moderate it. Someone need to flag those advert and review sales posts.

Why are you bothered about uncleared funds? Your money is your money, after all. Having a target is basically to monitor one's progress or otherwise.

Nobody really understands the yardstick those bots use to measure the analytics anymore. Personally, I care less about response rate and focus on more important metrics which is my rating.

I understand that there's hardly anything we can do to reduce the ads, so opening a new thread could proof to be counterproductive after all.

I have accepted the reality. Let's keep pushing this thread and continue to chip in our bits.

Talking of growing our business, like mrphysics, I am also worried that this thread is no longer serving its purpose, especially in recent times.

The thread is now rife with TOO MANY adverts. We no longer share valuable tips like before. And When some people come here with their challenges, they hardly get lasting solutions, perhaps except for those who are willing to do so for a fee. I'm not happy with this.

In lieu of this, I too support that we create a new thread where we can explicitly discuss freelancing business, especially as it relates to fiverr. Apparently, some of the info on this thread are becoming obsolete due to the recent changes in fiverr's ToS. That said, most of the info contained here are still relevant which is why I'd suggest that we archive this thread. Heck, the innumerable number of pages is even somewhat overwhelming for new readers.

Who else share in my sentiments? Would you prefer that we open a new thread? Please indicate.

I strongly think we should create another thread for fiverr reviews and exchanges. All what we have on this thread are now reviews and different resellers. No information on how to improve our business on fiverr and when one posts such, it gets overtaken by the seller of reviews and exchangers adverts.

I think when we create a separate thread, we might need the moderators to help us remove all messages that does not relate to selling on fiverr on this thread.

I think it's usually within 21 days or less. If you don't want to wait that long, you may ship it using DHL and get it within 3 days.

Actually, I use my discretion. Not all buyers have sinister intentions. But most of the time, I never send samples too.

A buyer contacted me to write a 12 episode script which I'll adapt from a novel.
I billed him $100 and he says it's fine by him but then he requested for samples of my work( I don't have any).

I know what it feels like struggling to receive that first order. But hear this my friend, if you want to be successful on fiverr, don't be desperate to close all deals. Of course, the seller knows you're a new seller so it isn't unexpected that you don't have samples.
Here's what to do,
Take your time to write a mini script and attach it to your gig.
Also, tell the seller that you aren't inclined to sharing other people's work without their permission.
Whether he happens to buy your gig or not, don't feel bad. Good luck.

Listen. Go to payoneer and sign up for an account. It shouldn't take more than a couple hours to get approved. Afterward, link the account to your fiverr account and start withdrawing your funds into it. Then, you can contact some of the recommended exchangers to convert your fund into Naira. Simple as that.

To earn even 1 cent on fiverr no easy, so no let any God forsaken soul scam you of your hard earned money.

That is their M.O. They had no reason, honestly. Whenever I luckily got through to them, they'd inform me that someone would contact me; still, no one did. I had initiated to deposit $300 in my account on 3rd of March, got the alert on the night of the 13th. Could you even imagine what that 10-day waiting period was like, especially when you are in the dark, too, since there was no real contact or updates? Besides, in today's economy, that is a lot of money. Three days prior (March 10th), one of their agents even called me and asked me to verify my account (knowing fully well that would be my second transaction, not the first o), requesting IDs, Payoneer statement, and a scheduled Skype call, and all that, I told him I had verified my account before, so he checked and said, "Oh. I am sorry, sir, I just checked. It's true; you have verified your account." -- I still have a recording of the call saved.
Like who does that? You never bothered to check your records before calling me? Do they even keep a record? They are not organised, not at all. Later, he assured that my money would be sent the following day, which is 11th. Yet, 11th came, and I got nothing. I gave up at this point, and just assumed they had made away with my USD. When they finally deposited me, which is on the 13th, I just thanked my luck and removed every trace of their URL from my browser. Never again. And, for me, it's too risky.
What if next time, they request for outlandish documentation (like they did you: I buy electricity unit online, too, and I pay no water bill or any other government provided utility service with my address on it) before they would process my request when I have another $300 trapped in their system? For an organisation that doesn't even have a functioning way through which customers could contact them: (have you been to their Facebook page? Complaints are rampant). Neither do they have a working phone number - I tried almost all their numbers, I was habitually redirected to their answering machine. No one picked.
It is way too risky to trust them with funds made from slaving hours. Honestly.
I just opened an Access bank account. What I do now is, I make my withdrawal at a secluded Access bank ATM and immediately rush into their bank building, which is in the same premises, and process my funds the old-fashioned way -- cash. It's better 330 than a prolonged angst, considering the what-ifs with nightmares/sleepless nights bordering on every conceivable unpleasant likelihood.
Perhaps, in the very far future when feedback from other users suggests their service delivery has improved, I might warily consider using them again.

As far as I know, you're able to contact a buyer ONLY when you've had a conversation history with the person. Or the buyer is also a seller. As of now, I doubt if there's any way to contact a buyer beyond those two scopes.

Their customer service is poor. I have made a withdrawal request for about two days now. It is expected that when someone does a transaction like this, they send an email notifying you of the transaction. The confirmation email should also give you an estimate of when you are likely to receive your funds.

With Sendvalu, I made a withdrawal request, and I didn't hear anything. I sent them an email and they told me that they are processing it. I asked them when I should expect it, and I haven't gotten a reply since. Meanwhile, I am broke and in need of cash .

Now, as regards the deportation. I'll try to give general tips so that others may benefit.

While I haven't confirmed the report that display pictures can no longer be changed, I enjoin you to try changing your picture, still. What should you change to? I wouldn't know. But I'd think it'd be safe to use anything but a white person's picture.

The next step is to do a diagnostic test on your account profile and all of your gigs. Check your profile, does it look professional? What about the fluffy information therein? Wipe them off. (you know, all the I WENT TO ALABAMA UNIVERSITY B. S)

Now let's proceed to the gigs.
Before you touch any of them, go check your analytics. What is it indicating? If you have a gig with healthy metrics (ALL GREEN), don't edit it just yet. Meanwhile, for the gigs showing red, you'll have a lot to do. (Someone has given instructions on how to go about it in one of the recent pages)
Generally, check your gigs for punctuation errors, grammatical errors, etc. For anyone who's into writing, these errors aren't negligible.
Still on gigs, if you can afford it, create custom display picture for each. Also, this could be the time to create videos for your gigs too.
See, these are what make you look professional, and not seem like a kid who just wants a few quick bucks to buy a ps4.

If you haven't been keeping in touch with your past buyers before, now is the time. Yea, I know you've only got a handful but that should work. Craft a simple and straightforward message saying hi and asking if there's a task you could help them with. Believe me, it always work - especially when their last experience with you was amazing. (See again, mediocre sellers don't have a single chance) Hopefully, you'll get a few jobs to keep you busy.
While at it, keep using the buyer's request page. Meanwhile, do you have a killer proposal? Now's the time to work on them.

Also, it's time to start promoting your gigs outside fiverr. There are different ways you could do that.


P. S. These tips aren't absolute. In fact, the effects of many are marginal. But when you have them come together, you'd begin to see positive changes. Also, I must emphasize that these tips aren't exhaustive. There are more and I hope others will share them.

But here's what's absolute. continue to be better. Learn more about the services you offer. When you deliver exceptional work, chances are you'll get to keep the client.

Like mrphysics, I too have had cases of rewriting contents that were originally written by my countrymen. And I must admit that these contents were a mess.


Yes, some persons are hard to satisfy but trust me, quality always prevails.

I feel bad for genuine Nigerian sellers who are just registering on the platform, we've really messed up things for them.

I see new sellers on this thread grumbling and crying because of lack of sales. I'm really sorry for you guys. It's not a case of what you aren't doing, rather, it's a case of how our kinsmen are unapologetically shittingg the bed by delivering poor services. Hence, giving us a bad name.

Well if it's any consolation, some of us level 2 Nigerian sellers aren't having it too rosy either, (sometimes, it becomes dry for us too) but ours is still better.

To the new sellers, please keep your heads up. Never give up. Begin to restrategize. Continue to push and I believe the sales will start coming soon.
