Sports / NBA Star Fined $35000 For Publicly Insulting Referees by thesoccerhoopin: 11:04am On Dec 20, 2015
From: http://www.thesoccerhooping.com/2015/12/nba-star-gets-fined-for-harsh-criticism.html

Indiana Pacers guard, Paul George was fined $35,000 for publicly using harsh and improper words on NBA officials during a live post-game interview after his teams victory against the Brooklyn Nets.

George said " the stripes were terrible...we had to go out and just play. We knew the way the game was going and the way they were calling it we had to just play. Its frustrating...hopefully the league does a better job in looking at sh*t like this."

During the game against Brooklyn Nets, George had 23 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists. You can see the interview for yourself below.

Sports / Horrific Scenes As Basketball Player Runs Into A Woman Sitting Courtside(photos) by thesoccerhoopin: 8:08am On Dec 18, 2015
From: http://www.thesoccerhooping.com/2015/12/horrific-scenes-as-basketball-player.html

On Thursday night during the intense game between Cleveland Cavaliers and Oklahoma City Thunders, Cavaliers forward, Lebron James tried to save a loose ball in the fourth quater causing him to run out of bounds and collide with a woman who was sitting alongside her husband. The injured woman, Ellie Day, appears to be the wife of an Australian golfer Jason Day. After the collision, immediate medical attention was given to her. Ellie Day would not be impressed with what has happened after paying a lot of money to be seated at the courtside. There should be more room between the basketball court and the first rows around the court in order to avoid incidents like this. This must have been a very unpleasant experience for Ellie Day for a big man like Lebron James who is 6 ft 8 and weighs 249 Ibs to come running into her. You can watch the video Below.

A similar incident happened when Shaquille Oneil still played for the Phoenix Suns. There was a loose ball and he came running to save the ball and the next thing, his whole bench filled with his team mates all cleared and laughing so hard because they know the kind of damage that can be done when a man as big as Shaq comes running toward you.

Sports / Jose Mourinho Leaving Chelsea's Training Ground (PHOTOS) by thesoccerhoopin: 9:00pm On Dec 17, 2015
From: http://www.thesoccerhooping.com/2015/12/chelsea-fires-jose-mourinho.html

We all saw this coming and it had to happen one way or another. With the constant poor performance of Chelsea this season, Jose Mourinho has been fired as the head coach of Chelsea, and as a result of this incident, Chelsea would have to pay Mourinho £40 million. Mean while, Guus Hiddink would be taking over as the interim head coach for the rest of the season. Mourinho's fate was decided after an emergency meeting was held today

Last season, Mourinho helped Chelsea win the Barclays Premier League title with a margin of eight points ahead of Manchester City and the fans were pleased because he was able to deliver what he promised, but this season, things did not go as planned. Jose encountered problems with players, staffs and most importantly, Chelsea were definitely not pleased when Mourinho used the word "Betrayed" in a recent post-game interview, implying that the players had betrayed his hard work.

Currently, Chelsea is struggling to stay above the relegation zone as they are ahead Norwich City by one point. However, It won't be long before Mourinho is recruited to a new job because of his reputation as a successful coach and his achievements (excluding this season).

Sports / Arsenal, Barcelona And Man.u All Seeking Leicester City's Superstar by thesoccerhoopin: 7:34am On Dec 16, 2015
From: http://www.thesoccerhooping.com/2015/12/arsenal-barcelona-and-manu-all-gunning.html

In case you are already thinking its Jamie Vardy, you are wrong, its Riyad Mahrez. Most people should know him by now after the midfielder has been making a huge name for himself and his club by his spectacular performance this season. Combined with Jamie Vardy, They both have 26 goals between them so far this season, with Vardy having 15 goals as the top scorer currently, while Mahrez has 11 goals and is the third highest goal scorer in the Premier league this season.

Mahrez insists he is not going to take up any offers from any of the clubs as the January transfer window draws closer. Leicester City bought Mahrez for about £320,000, but currently he should be worth way more than that, so whoever is willing to sign him should be ready to pay a huge amount of money.

England international and Manchester City's superstar, Raheem Sterling, who makes as much as £180,000 per week was spotted driving a smart Fortwo car. With the salary he earns per-week , he can decide to buy an Audi R8 weekly. Well, it takes great humility for a player of his class based on what he earns, to be driving such a car. Young just recently signed a deal with adidas and decided to have some fun with the company's product. He defended his actions for wearing the Yeezy to the game by saying "I just signed with Adidas, welcome to the three stripes Swaggy P".

Not quite sure how the Adidas Yeezy must have affected his performance in the game against the Houston Rockets but in the game, Young had 13 points, 3 rebounds and one assist to Kobe Bryant which he credited the Yeezy shoe for the assist.

Sports / NBA Star Suspended For A Breach In Drug Policy by thesoccerhoopin: 9:46am On Dec 10, 2015
From: http://www.thesoccerhooping.com/2015/12/nba-star-suspended-for-breach-in-drug.html

Charlotte Hornets center, Al Jefferson, who is currently injured and is expected to be out for about three weeks has been suspended by the NBA for five games for a breach in drug program. Jefferson told a reporter that he failed a drug test, when asked about his violation.

This is very unfortunate for Jefferson because this case coincidentally unfolded at the season when his contract with the Hornets will expire. Clearly, Jefferson feels remorseful for his actions because in a recent interview, he said "I just feel so low right now for every little boy and girl who looks at me as somebody they look up to."

So far this season, Jefferson has played 17 games for the Hornets and managed to average about 13.7 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. Hopefully Jefferson would learn from his mistakes and comeback stronger.

Oliver Giroud was simply at his best performance earlier today as he helped his side defeat Olympiakos two nil by scoring a hat-trick. Arsenal fans were so impressed by his performance that fans took to twitter to create meme's of his ability to prove his haters wrong. Arsenal were able to finish second in their group as Olympiakos and Dinamo Zagreb are knocked out of the group stage. But again, the main question is "can Arsenal sustain this victory"? The round of 16 draw will be announced on Monday, December 14 and hopefully, they don't fall into the hands of the wrong group.

From: http://www.thesoccerhooping.com/2015/12/louis-van-gaal-out.html

Yes this time they scored but still not enough. Manchester united took on VFL Wolfsburg today and they desperately needed a win to seal their round of 16 qualification but the players could not deliver this as they were knocked out by Wolfsburg. It would be okay to say since Sir Alex Ferguson retired as the coach of Man.U, things have never been the same. Last saturday became the fifth time Manchester united had a goalless draw this season. Nothing seems to be working out well for Louis Van Gaal and his men. Even with the purchase of new players like Bastian Schweinsteiger, Anthony Martial and Memphis Depay, they weren't still able to qualify for the round of 16. Memphis Depay must feel terrible because his previous team (PSV Eindhoven) were able to make it to the next stage. Another picture of the depressed Man.U players below.

Nick Young, also known as swaggy P was not so swaggy when Detroit Pistons power, Anthony Tolliver, tried to interrupt his dunk. Young poured out his anger on Tolliver after the Lakers were trailing by 29 points in the fourth quater. Young was charged with a flagrant foul and was ejected from the game. On the other hand, Tolliver, who was in shock by Young's actions could be heard saying "its just a foul" and really, it was just a foul. Young could have had a chance to shoot free throws but he gave it all away. Below is the video of the incident.

Sadly for Real Madrid and fans, their team would no longer be participating in this year's Copa del Rey after they were removed from the competition because an ineligible player, Denis Cherisev, who was suspended, played in the match and even scored the opening goal three minutes into the game. Just when Madrid fans thought things couldn't get worse after they were trashed by Barcelona in La Liga, then this happened. Since pre-season, Madrid has continued to face challenges such as Iker Casillas Retiring and the difficulty to sign David de Gea, their main striker, Karim Benzema involved in a sextape scandal, and even rumors of Ronaldo leaving the club.
