MIKHAIL LERMONTOV




Young Russian artist Mikhail Lermontov was forever immortalized after his friend and admirer, Nikolai Martynov, killed him a duel in 1841. At age 26, Lermontov was making a name for himself as a poet, author, painter, and soldier, but he was also earning a reputation as a partier and prankster. The latter may have led to his demise. According to Russia Behind the Headlines, Martynov was reportedly teased relentlessly by Lermontov and eventually grew so tired of it that he challenged his friend to a duel. Lermontov accepted, but during the face off, he fired into the air, while Martynov aimed for the heart. That story is the stuff of legend, and it's unclear if Martynov suffered any consequences for the killing, but Lermontov's fate was sealed. His funeral was attended by thousands, and to this day, he is considered one of history's greatest poets.

DIMEBAG DARRELL



Many folks say they'd like to die doing what they love, but not on a murderer's timetable. Damageplan and former Pantera guitarist Dimebag Darrell, 38, was shot while performing on stage December 8, 2004. His killer was diehard Pantera fan Nathan Gale, a former football player and U.S. Marine. Friends described him as a good guy until something snapped. Gale reportedly began thinking that he'd penned some of Pantera's songs. "He was off his rocker," one-time friend Jeramie Brey told The Columbus Dispatch. "He said they were his songs, that Pantera stole them from him and that he was going to sue them." According to the Daily News, Gale also blamed Darrell for the breakup of Pantera. During the fateful show in Columbus, Ohio, the 25-year-old reportedly rushed the stage screaming, "You broke up Pantera!" Gale killed the guitarist and three others before being shot and killed by a police officer.

Latina songstress Selena Quintanilla-Pérez (known the world over as simply "Selena" was a rising star when her fan club founder, Yolanda Saldivar, gunned her down, at age 23,

Yolanda Saldívar’s interest in Selena bordered on obsession.

She was said to have Selena’s photo and memorabilia all over her apartment before she ever bet the star. She begged Selena’s family to let her start a Selena fan club, and they allowed her to.

She soon turned to more than that when she became Selena’s boutique manager and friend


But it came out that Saldívar had been embezzling money from the fan club



When this became clear to Selena and her family, Saldívar lured Selena to a hotel room with a story that she had been raped and needed Selena’s help.

After Selena took Saldívar to a hospital and returned her to her hotel room, the two got into an argument, and Saldívar shot Selena in the back.

Selena ran from the room, and Saldívar followed her, screaming obscenities. Selena died shortly after

Bruce Lee
While Bruce Lee technically didn’t die from an incident that happened while filming, he still technically passed out during production, collapsing while dubbing for The Game of Death at Golden Harvest Studio in Hong Kong. He was sped away to a local hospital shortly after. Doctors there pointed toward abnormal swelling in the brain as the cause, eventually getting it under control enough to discharge him.

Two months later, Lee went to sleep and didn’t wake up, and was later pronounced dead.

Much of the fancy flying you see in Top Gun is performed by skilled stuntmen. But even for experienced pilots, there’s always an inherent risk. Art Scholl was one such pilot. He died on set while attempting to execute a move with his plane known as a flat spin. Tragically, the camera equipment mounted on the plane added too much unexpected weight, causing it to spin out of control and crash into the ocean below


Scholl, a seasoned flight instructor with his own aviation school, was 51 years old.

Jon-Erik Hexum

An unintentional gunshot wound to the head on the set of the CBS adventure series Cover Up, killed Hexum in 1984, writes Access Atlanta. Hexum played Mac Harper, the Green Beret-turned-model in the TV show that delved into international mystery and fashion photography.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Hexum had been napping on October 12, 1984, during delays in filming. When he learned there would be more delays, he jokingly picked up a .44 Magnum pistol loaded with blanks, said “Can you believe this crap?” and pulled the trigger. The blast’s impact fractured his skull, which drove a bone fragment the size of a quarter into his brain, causing massive bleeding. He was rushed to the hospital where surgery was performed, however, he remained comatose and was pronounced brain dead on October 18, writes Entertainment Weekly.

Paul Mantz


Mantz was a legendary aviator who lost his spot at the U.S. Army Flight School after buzzing over a train filled with high-ranking officers in an effort to show off his skills.

Later, he landed a role in Air Mail, where he flew a biplane through a hangar that wasn’t much bigger than his aircraft. Mantz then appeared in several other films, such as For Whom the Bell Tolls, Twelve O’Clock High, and The Wings of Eagles.

The daredevil died on July 8, 1965 while performing a stunt for The Flight of the Phoenix — a movie he came out of retirement to film, according to How Stuff Works. Mantz was flying over a desert in Arizona when his plane struck a hill and broke into pieces, immediately killing the aviator. Most of the film had already been shot, so filmmakers substituted another plane for some remaining close-ups. The Flight of the Phoenix was released later that year

Martha Mansfield



While filming The Warrens of Virginia, the silent-film star was sitting in a car taking a break between takes. In what can only be described as a freak accident, a passerby lit a cigarette and accidentally flicked the match into the automobile. The match landed on Martha Mansfield’s costume, which was a giant and highly flammable Civil War-era dress. The dress went up in flames, per Death and Taxes. Mansfield died in the hospital the next day (November 30, 1923) from severe burns.

Roy Kinnear
While in Toledo, Spain, filming the movie The Return of the Musketeers, Kinnear fell from a horse. The 54-year-old British actor sustained a broken pelvis and was taken to a hospital in Madrid. The following day, September 20, 1988, Kinnear died from a heart attack, writes Oddee.


Kinnear “played the role of Planchet, the servant of the Musketeer d’Artagnan, a role he created in the Richard Lester hit The Three Musketeers in 1974,” according to The New York Times. The director, Richard Lester, was deeply affected by Kinnear’s death and shortly after quit his own film career, per Oddee.

Red Foxx




In 1991 while filming on the set of The Royal Family (co-starring Della Reese), Foxx died of a massive heart attack. Ironically, he had become famous for grabbing his chest and calling out to his dead television wife, Elizabeth, while he pretended to have a heart attack on the ‘70s show, Sanford and Son, per Madame Noire.


Foxx was 68 years old at the time of his death.

Tyrone power


While filming Solomon and Sheba, Tyrone Power suffered a massive heart attack on set during a fencing scene. He died on the way to the hospital on March 15, 1958, according to Ranker.

Power first rose to popularity in 1936 with Lloyds of London, according to About. Solomon and Sheba was a series about King David’s younger son, Solomon, who he named his heir rather than his older son, Prince Adonijah.

John Ritter



John Ritter collapsed while on the set of 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter on September 11, 2003. Ritter had become ill while working on the ABC series and ended up collapsing on set. He was rushed to the hospital where he underwent surgery for a tear in his aorta, a rare medical condition that can hit without warning, writes Fox News.



Ritter died that evening, per Fox News. The show was retitled 8 Simple Rules and continued for another season with David Spade and James Garner as replacements, writes Access Atlanta.

Ritter was well-known for his many works in television and on film, particularly for his role as Jack Tripper in Three’s Company, according to Madame Noire

Brandon Lee, the son of martial arts legend Bruce Lee, was killed on March 31, 1993, in a stunt accident on the set of The Crow. “Lee’s character was supposed to get shot in a scene, but the handgun used contained a fragment of a real bullet,” writes Ranker




During filming, Lee was walking through a doorway carrying a grocery bag as another actor fired blanks at him from 15 feet away, per the Los Angeles Times. At that moment, Lee activated a toggle switch underneath the grocery bag and set off the small charge, called a squib, which is commonly used on movie sets to simulate gunfire effects. Lee was hit in the abdomen by a projectile, and died later that day at the age of 28



Director Alex Proyas used a double and some special effects in order to complete the movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The Crow tells the story of a rock musician, Eric Draven, who is granted life and power by a mysterious crow. Draven uses his abilities to hunt and kill the men that murdered him and His fiancé

During the filming of Twilight Zone: The Movie, Morrow was killed on set in July 1982, along with two child actors, Myca Dinh Le and Renee Chen, says How Stuff Works. The Twilight Zone script called for the use of both a helicopter and pyrotechnics, a deadly combination in this case.

On July 23, 1982, a Bell UH-1 Iroquois helicopter crashed at Indian Dunes in Valencia, California, United States, during the making of Twilight Zone: The Movie. The crash killed actor Vic Morrow and child actors Myca Dinh Le and Renee Shin-Yi Chen, who were on the ground, and injured the six helicopter passengers.

It was on May 16, 2001, when Linda Carty entered the house of Joana Rodriguez with other three men and kidnapped Joana and her three-day-old baby. Joana was tied with a duct tape and was forced into the trunk of a car where she died because of lack of oxygen. Linda Carty was sentenced to death and other 3 persons entered were given jail terms. Investigators revealed that Linda Carty kidnapped the baby because she has suffered a miscarriage in the past.

Nadene Faye Manukau-Togiavalu And Sydnee Toulapapa


Both Nadene Faye Manukau-Togiavalu and Sydnee Toulapapa entered a home in the Auckland, New Zealand and stole 11-day old baby. 80 police officers involved in the investigation and caught them. Police officers revealed that Manukau – Togiavalu pretended that she was pregnant and even held a baby shower, invited friends and family to celebrate the delivery of the baby (non-existent). Both kidnappers were charged with housebreaking and kidnapping.

Mysterious Unnamed Woman


It was in April 1997 when someone kidnapped a 3-day old baby (Zephany) from a South African hospital. A witness claimed that they saw a woman (unnamed) dressed as a nurse at the time of the kidnapping. She was finally caught but her identity was not revealed just to save Zephany. She changed her original name, now here comes the twist of fate, Zephany and her younger sister luckily got the admission in the same school, and people there noted the similarity between the girls.
DNA revealed her true identity; the woman denied the kidnapping and said that Zephany was given to her by a lady who paid to find the missing child; she could adopt the baby after she suffered a miscarriage. The court didn’t believe her story and it was reported that she has kidnapped Zephany.

Erika Jisela Miranda – Alvarez


Erika Jisela Miranda – Alvarez entered Carolina Flores’s Houston home and stabbed her to death before escaping with her newly born baby Shamali Flores. Miranda was pregnant and her due date was in January, but she had a miscarriage and didn’t tell anyone, not even to her boyfriend. She continued pretending that she was pregnant before murdering her. The FBI tracked missing baby girl and she was found at Miranda’s home. This case of stealing other woman baby happened on 19th December 2017.

Alexis Manigo, 18-year-old diva was in shock after she got to know that her mother Gloria Williams was arrested for kidnapping. It took so many years to Alexis to cope with the trauma that her mother was the kidnapper and she was the victim. Reports suggested that Alexis had known this truth over a year but she didn’t want her old mother to get into trouble.

The staff called the police and searched Korena’s home where they found the dead body of Heather Snivel (real mother). The inspection reported that Roberts had killed Snivel and removed the fetus from the womb.


Robert covered the Sinvel’s body with a carpet and dumped the body into space and called his boyfriend that she was in labor. It was also reported that Korena used to tell people that she is expecting twins several months before this incidence. In addition, she even kept stroller, baby magazines, parenting journals just to keep the people aware.

Montgomery abducted the child, who survived, and tried to pass her off as her own. She was arrested and the baby was rescued the next day at Montgomery's home near Melvern in east-central Kansas.



The child, Victoria Jo, survived and is now a 16-year-old. She still lives in the area with her father, Zeb Stinnett, and other family members who do their best to protect her privacy.
