This is to inform prospective candidates and the general public that the University of Nigeria, Nsukka 2023/2024 Post-UTME Screening Exercise, earlier slated to start from Tuesday, October 3, 2023, through Friday, October 18, 2023, will no longer hold. The reconsideration by the management to waive the post-UTME screening test for the 2023–2024 academic session was occasioned by the prevailing uncertainties and logistical implications of traveling down from various parts of the country at this challenging time. Management has come to the decision that for the 2023–2024 academic session, the screening exercise shall be based on the assessment of verified JAMB UTME, O’ Level, and Direct Entry results in place of the Post-UTME Computer Based Test (CBT) examination. Any candidate who fails to upload the verified O Level results at JAMB CAPS in record time shall not be considered for admission. Other details on the registration for the screening on O’ Level and direct entry results at the UNN portal, as already published on our website, remain as scheduled. Sources within the labor party that were interviewed by Punch have claimed that the party has gotten about twenty Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SAN) from different chambers that will challenge the outcome of the February 25 presidential election on behalf of its presidential candidate, Peter Obi. Recall that THETRUST MEDIA reported the outcome of the just concluded presidential election, where the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced the flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as the winner of the election. However, sources also disclosed that those lawyers representing the party in court are all well equipped with materials that would be used as evidence in court. According to Umar Farouk, the National Secretary of the Labour Party, He said, “We have more than 20 SANs that are willing to participate and offer their services for the renewal and emergence of a new Nigeria. As I am talking to you, our lawyers are working on it. “But this is not something we can discuss on the pages of a newspaper. All I can tell you is that we have started ‘trekking’ to the court.” Farouk, when asked if the leadership of the party and the candidate had been able to garner concrete evidence other than the alleged isolated incidents the APC claimed the Labour Party was dangling to get public sympathy, said, “The court is not a polling box that they can smash and put in what they want. “If the APC thinks they can pre-empt the court, let them do it. They had earlier pre-empted the election that they were going to win by hook or crook and they had claimed they won. Let’s wait and see. Unlike INEC, the judiciary is a different thing. “We have seen how independent the commission is. But we need to also examine how independent the judiciary also is in a matter of this magnitude. Let’s see the solace it can offer the masses. Let’s see if the judiciary has also shattered the hope of Nigerians just as INEC did.” Farouk, however, couldn’t give a definite date when the case would be filed. He added, “We are saying Obi is the winner from the record we have before us. But INEC did something else. They hurriedly carried out the plan of their paymaster. “Therefore we have every reason to claim victory if it is being denied. “On the part of Atiku and the PDP, they have the right and data to claim that their mandate was stolen. The only arbiter now is the court. “So many people can claim one thing. It is the judiciary that gives a verdict based on the evidence before it.” SOURCE: https://www.thetrust.ng/2023-presidential-election-more-than-20-san-set-to-reclaim-obis-claimed-mandate/

WHO IS A MEDICAL MALPRACTICE LAWYER? A medical lawyer is a solicitor, barrister, or advocate who specializes in the field of medical law. They can therefore investigate or otherwise deal with issues of medical malpractice, clinical failings, misconduct by medical staff, and related matters. WHAT DO MEDICAL MALPRACTICE LAWYERS DO? Medical malpractice lawyers specialize in misconduct lawsuits brought by patients against physicians, nurses, or other healthcare practitioners. Malpractice lawsuits over doctor or hospital negligence are a huge part of that. Just typing “medical malpractice Los Angeles” or “malpractice attorneys Chicago” into a search engine will generate dozens of hits. Malpractice attorneys fight for plaintiffs who saw medical professionals screw up big time. Alternatively, they take the defense side, working to clear the accused of wrongdoing. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Bola Tinubu the winner of the 2023 presidential election, which took place on Saturday, February 25, 2023. A total of 18 presidential candidates contested the election held across the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, on Saturday. Tinubu, a former Lagos State governor and the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), defeated 17 other candidates who took part in the election. having a total of 8,794,726 votes, the most of all the candidates, thus meeting the first constitutional requirement to be declared the winner. He also scored over 25 percent of the votes cast in 30 states, more than the constitutionally required 24. INEC Chairman Mahmood Yakubu, who announced the final results in the early hours of Wednesday in Abuja, said Atiku Abubakar of the PDP came in second in the election. Atiku polled a total of 6,984,520 votes in the election. Peter Obi of the Labour Party came third in the election with a total of 6,101,533 votes, while Rabiu Kwankwaso of the NNPP came fourth with 1,496,687 votes. This is to notify all the students of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, that the school management has created instalment dashboard for school fee payment. This news became known after the school management opened the school portal yesterday. TheTrust Media learnt that the school authority decided to split the school fees into semesters at the beginning of the new session of the academic year because of an increment in the school fees and also to enable some students who are not buoyant enough to be paying their school fees per semester. We also understood that, per semester payment, a student could only register for courses for that semester. So, students of the UNN can proceed to the school portal to create invoices for instalment school fees whenever the school management activates it.
