A Jos-based Pastor and former Executive Secretary of Nigeria National Missions Movement, Gideon Para-Mallam has alleged that President Buhari is yet to reach out to Nathan Sharibu, father of Leah Sharibu who was kidnapped alongside 111 female students of Government Girls Science and Technical Secondary School, Dapchi in 2018.

Gideon who added that Leah's abduction has been politicized by different groups in Nigeria, questioned President Buhari's humanity in a statement he released on Sunday October 20.

TheCable reported that he further disclosed that Leah Sharibu's family has been in agony since she was kidnapped and kept back by Boko Haram terrorists because she refused demands to renounce her Christian faith and convert to Islam.

“On October 15, Leah’s father, Nathan Sharibu and I were on the phone again. We connect on a regular basis and this has been the case since March 2018, till date,” he said.

“He said he had not heard a single word about his daughter’s release beyond the promises. He also confirmed that he had not received any phone calls or updates from the President of this country.

“Why is this the case? I am wondering deeply. Mr President, where is your humanity? Is life all about enjoying power in Aso Rock? You are a father and Nathan Sharibu is also a father. Before you were anything in government, you were a father.

“Mr President, 603 days? Would you have the presence of mind to lead Nigeria? A few minutes into writing this statement, Leah’s father and I were on the phone again. He shared with me that their life as a family is one of daily agony and pain; but they remain thankful to God.

“I encouraged him once again as I normally do, to remain hopeful about Leah’s release. He went further to tell me that October 14 was rather a very difficult night for him because he dreamt about Leah. He seemed distressed and unhappy.”

The annulment of the June 12 presidential election in which late M.K.O Abiola emerged successful had come and gone for decades, but certain hitherto unknown facts about the epoch-making day are now surfacing.

Mohammed Babangida, one of the sons of the then military head of state, Ibrahim Babangida, has admitted the impact of the cancellation of the results of the election on his father.

Recalling the experience, Mohammed said that he and the rest of the family expressed deep surprise when his father informed them that he had annulled the election.

In response to their shock, Babangida, according to Mohammed, said: "You are too young to understand the intrigues of governance...perhaps, this is something that will haunt me for the rest of my life."

The former Nigerian leader's son said that although the country has moved on from the past, most of its citizens did not know that at the time his father was limited and that it was not actually his wish to do so.
Mohammed further pointed out that apart from the compensation from President Muhammadu Buhari on the late presidential candidate, the southwest benefitted a lot from the annulment of the poll.

Rice farmers in Kano have sent a message to the federal government on its initiatives for agricultural stakeholders in the state.

The farmers say interventions by the government are not getting to them, even as they called for a probe into the disbursement process.

Dr. Aminu Baba Nabegu who is one of the farmers in the state made the allegation when a delegation from Kano concerned Citizens Initiatives (KCCI) visited his rice farm in Garun Babba area.

“Real farmers that are supposed to benefit from the federal government intervention were not getting it,” he told the delegation.

He said although he is cultivating about 200,000 hectares of land, he has never received any intervention from the federal government since he started farming.

“Most of the people that benefitted from such intervention are not farmers,” he added.

He continued: “Over 5,000 people are earning their living on my farms, but neither state nor the federal government ever approached me with any assistance in the name of intervention.”

He lamented that farmers had answered the federal government’s call for returning to farming, but in the end, they were abandoned.

Another rice farmer in the state, Alhaji Zakari Sa’idu Garun-Babba, said the federal government’s budget on agriculture was insufficient to meet their demands.

He said Nigeria will not achieve the expected success in the agricultural sector if the situation continues.

Already, the government has banned the importation of rice and expressed its seriousness about the ban by closing its land borders.

The fire razed structures, including shops on Upper Iweka road and at Ochanja market.Men of the Anambra State Fire Service were unable to put out the fire, making an angry mob at the scene to prevent other fire trucks from making further attempts.

Lake Pointe church in Texas, USA, headed by Pastor Josh Howerton, has encouraged many Christians to lead and live kind and generous lives. Just recently, Abc News reported how the church settled the medical debt of over 2,000 families in America.

It was gathered that Lake Pointe church partnered with RIP Medical Debt after a research showed that most families were struggling due to the burden of medical debts. The aim of the partnership was to use church members' donations to settle debts for families, which they successfully achieved by relieving 2,400 families off medical debt of N938.6 million.

Pastor Howerton revealed that the project was part of the church's Pay it Forward campaign, which started as a move to encourage members to show kindness as the church celebrated its 40th anniversary.

"We wanted to celebrate our 40th anniversary by passing forward the generosity that has been given to us, to people in our communities," Howerton said.

Howerton, while speaking with Abc News stated that his church has around 12,000 members across multiple campuses, and he hopes the project inspires members to give back to their communities.

"We want our people to do one act of kindness per day for the next 40 days," Howerton said. "So, if you do the math, that's 40 days times 12,000 people and half-a-million needs met. That's the vision we have for this campaign."

The magnificent work which has 12 sound stages dedicated to great actors of colour, will now also have a compound that will house homeless people.
While speaking in an interview with Gayle King, Perry revealed that he is set to open the compound for trafficked, displaced and homeless women and youths.
