If they (US/Israeli) stop the attack they lose face in the eyes of the world and their allies. If they continue with the fight, the more they are demystified by the Iranians. Russia and the Chinese wouldn't want this war to end anytime soon. Russia and China should try and keep them very busy and pinned down in the ME for as long as it takes since Iran is willing to be a battering ram to drain the US. Russia provides the intel to smash their assets in the ME and the Chinese provides the weaponry, that's division of labour.

Its not even up to a month, the US is squirreling around the globe begging their allies for weapons and to join the fight (Definition of paper tiger)
