Three-time champion Alejandra Rubio was heading to a tournament in northern Argentina with four of her competitors.

Footage taken moments after the crash shows the vehicle burning next to the lorry.

Forensic work is being done to formally identify them.

Whatsapp is currently undergoing a major change.

The messaging app owned by Facebook is introducing some new features developed to help it earn money.

It is making it easier for businesses & regular users to communicate on the platform, & says people will be able to place orders on Whatsapp, & even receive updates from companies through it.

It has started testing tools on the Whatsapp Business app, which has been built for small companies, & also says it is working on "An enterprise solution for bigger companies operating at a large scale with a global base of customers".

The Whatsapp Business app is at present free to use, but the firm has told the Wall Street Journal that it intends to charge businesses "In the future".

"Over 1 billion people use Whatsapp every day to stay connected with their family & friends, & over time, more people are using the app to communicate with businesses they care about too," said Whatsapp in a blog post.

In fact, lots of connections are already taking place daily, whether it is someone placing an order with a local bakery or looking at new styles from a clothing store. But the way this happens now on Whatsapp is pretty rudimentary.

The announcement is prone to raise fears of getting spammed by companies.

While this doesn't necessarily mean that ads definitely aren't coming to Whatsapp anytime soon, the company has previously labelled adverts as "The disruption of aesthetics, the insults to your intelligence & the interruption of your train of thought".

A 24-year-old man, Anusorn Saipin, has been arrested by the police for allegedly slashing the throat of a 5-year-old girl & dumping her body in an old septic well, at a deserted house in Kanchanaburi's Sisawat district.

According to Bangkok Post, the young girl known as Aye, went missing on Sunday & on the same day, police recovered a large fertilizer bag that contained Aye's body from a septic tank about forty meters from the girl's house.

Surveillance footage in the area showed Anusorn walking past & holding what appeared to be a construction equipment few hours before the girl's body was found.

The suspect who is a neighbor of the girl in Moo 1 village in Tambon Thakradan, was arrested at about 8.20am on Tuesday, September 5, while hiding in a forest at the back a primary school.

Police said an autopsy found no trace of sexual assault although the cut across the girl's throat was about 8cm long.

A Nigerian engineer & neuroscientist, Oshiorenoya Agabi, is blazing a trail in America's Silicon Valley by making drones that can smell bombs far off.



Agabi is the founder & CEO of the Silicon Valley startup, Koniku, a wetware company which is the world's first neuro -computationcompany.



"Imagine being able to detect odours a significant distance away with form factors which you can mount on a commercially available drone. The system will be complete with on board biological learning & classification," wrote Agabi on his LinkedIn profile.

Agabi's startup, has developed a prototype 64-neuronsilicon chip & their first application is making a drone that can smell explosives.

According to Osh, the drone would be able to smell bombs several kilometers away, it could also be used for surveying farmland, refineries, manufacturing plants - anything where health & safety can be measured by an acute sense of smell.

Agabi believes "There are no practical limits to how large we can make our devices or how much we can engineer our neurons. I believe as intelligent computation goes-biology is the ultimate frontier."


Agabi who has work experience across five countries & speaks five languages, started his studies in Federal College of Fisheries & Marine Technology in Nigeria where he obtained a Diploma in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering, Diploma studies in marine engineering, naval studies & merchant marines in 1997.

Google Chrome will allow you to permanently mute websites.



RoidPolice reports that Google is experimenting with a new feature which will enable users to permanently mute websites on a per domain basis.

Once configured, Chrome will automatically block that page from autoplaying videos with sound.

Google's François Beaufort mentions that thisfeature is still being experimented on by the team.

Websites that have been muted permanently will remain that way until the user manually unmutes them.


This feature is currently available in the latest Canary build of Chrome on the desktop.

Thanks to Japan's Softbank, when the robot day of reckoning comes, robots will be there to say a prayer over your frail human remains.

That is the message from this week's Tokyo Int'l Funeral & Cemetery Show, where Softbank's Pepper robot demonstrated its ability to perform Buddhist funeral rites.



Draped in traditional Japanese funeral garb, Pepper not only presided over a faux death ceremony, it also chanted Buddhist sutras, takingover the usual role of a human monk during such ceremonies.

Pepper is not actually performing any real funeral rites, but Japan's Nissei Eco developed the funeral software for Pepper as an alternative when a Buddhist monk isn't available, or when the family can't afford the more expensive human practitioner.


Where the elderly are beginning to outnumber children, cheap, automated funeral rites may soon become the norm.

Facebook & Instagram seem to be down for some users this morning with some unable to post & others unable to access the sites completely.

Facebook users have reported issues accessing pagemailboxes, uploading images, & posting updates, on both the mobile & web versions.

Some users received messages saying that there was a "Temporary problem with this post," or an issue with a URL, & to try again in a few minutes.

Other users were greeted with a message that Facebook is down for "Required maintenance."

The outage doesn't appear to be affecting all users, & the cause for issues aren't immediately clear.

President Donald Trump's decision on Friday to pardon former Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio was condemd by Democrats & a number of Republicans. Joe Arpaio was convicted in July of criminal contempt for violating a federal judge's order to stop racially profiling Latinos when enforcing immigration law.

"No one is above the law & the individuals entrusted with the privilege of being sworn law officers should always seek to be beyond reproach in their commitment to fairly enforcing the laws they swore to uphold," said Republican Arizona Sen. John McCain in a statement.

The pardon is the latest issue to pit the Arizona Senators against the President, who spent time criticizing both McCain & Flake at his rally in Phoenix on Tuesday, when he hinted that he might pardon Arpaio.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer accused Trump of usingthe heavy focus on Hurricane Harvey to quietly pardon Arpaio.


"Joe Arpaio ignored the courts & the rule of law in order to systematically target Latinos in AZ," he said on Twitter.

Camera tricks



This is an obvious one, given that it would require a hardware upgrade in order for the S8 to gain an extra camera.

With the second lens on the back of the Note 8, you can take photos that contain more depth-of-field information, which leads to a bokeh effect. In other words, the subject of your photo is in focus while the background is blurry. & with the Note 8, you can actually adjust just how much bokeh is used, before or after the photo is snapped when using the Live Focus feature.

One more cool feature, Dual Capture, gives you the ability to zoom out on a photo captured with both rear cameras, showing the entire scene instead of just the original subject.

Live Messages




Similar to Apple's Digital Touch feature, Live Messages will let you draw or write a message, & then share it in animated form.

Using the S-Pen you can draw on top of a photo or handwrite a message, & the Note 8 will record every pen stroke. The shared image is a standard animated GIF & should be playable regardless of the service used to send it.

App Pair




Multiwindow apps are nothing new to Samsung devices, with the Korean company implementing the feature well before Google integrated it into Android Nougat. With the Note 8, Samsung is making it easier to repeatedly use two apps at the same time.

The feature is called App Pair & is part of the Edge screen feature. Using App Pair, you pick two apps, say Calendar & Messages, as a shortcut. Then when you tap on the pair, both apps are opened in multi-window mode.

You can set any two apps as a pair, as long as each one supports multi-window mode.

Samsung Experience

Some of these features, Live Messages & App Pair, for example, don't rely on hardware. There's nothing stopping Samsung from updating the Samsung Experience software running on all current Galaxy devices with these same features.

A Samsung representative confirmed to CNET some of the software-based features would indeed eventually make their way to the Galaxy S8 & S8 Plus, but stopped short of providing a time frame or specific list.

Samsung have no choice but to operate without its acting leader Lee Jae-yong for a few years, now that a South Korean court has found him guilty of bribery & embezzlement. The executive has been sentenced to 5 years in prison, much shorter than the twelve years he was facing. According to The New York Times, though, that's long enough to be considered a heavy penalty for a country that is used to doling out light sentences to major business figures.

Lee was arrested earlier this year after Samsung's involvement in President Park Geun-hye's scandals came to light.

The court said prosecution presented enough evidence to prove that the Samsung chief bribed the government to gain its support for the controversial merger.

A South African model purportedly attacked by Zimbabwe's first lady has asked a court to annul the government's decision to grant Grace Mugabe diplomatic immunity.

Willie Spies, a lawyer from AfriForum - a civil rights group that has given legal backing to the alleged victim, Gabriella Engels - said on Thursday that South Africa's foreign minister "Misinterpreted the law" by "Recognizing the immunities & privileges" of Mugabe.

Court documents seen by AFP also ask the court to declare the diplomatic immunity decision "Does not confer immunity from prosecution".

Mugabe flew out of South Africa on a pre-dawn flight on a presidential jet on Sunday.


He said the decision to grant immunity was taken in line with "Internationally recognised immunity regulations" & admitted it was "The first time we have utilised this type of convention".
