Robert Yancy, son of the late R&B star Natalie Cole and grandson of music legend Nat King Cole, has died, law enforcement officials have confirmed to The Times. He was 39.

Robert Yancy's body was found in his San Fernando Valley apartment when a friend who hadn't heard from him in a few days checked up on him.

Family members tell us ... authorities contacted them at 2:30 AM Tuesday and said Robert died of a heart attack. Law enforcement tells us, pending an autopsy, they have listed it as death from natural causes, but that can change once the autopsy and toxicology tests are completed.


The family tells us authorities were clear to them, drugs were not involved. As you know, Natalie famously fought drug addiction throughout her adult life until her 2015 death. Her cause of death was congestive heart failure.

Family members say Robert -- the grandson of Nat King Cole -- had never abused drugs and was "turning his life around." He worked in the music industry.

Robert's dad died of a heart attack at age 34, so it could be heart disease runs in the family.

Joi “SJ” Harris, who billed herself as the first African-American female road racer, died while performing a motorcycle stunt in Vancouver, Canada, PEOPLE confirmed.

The Brooklyn, New York native was an advocate for women of color in the road racing game, and promoted herself as “the first licensed African American women in U.S. history to actively compete in sanctioned motorcycle road racing events.”

On Friday, Harris updated her Facebook with a selfie, writing, “EVERYTHING FOR A REASON. #staythecourse.”


Harris is thought to be the stunt double for Zazie Beetz. A woman donning the costume for the mutant Domino, whom Beetz plays in the film, was spotted on a black Ducati motorcycle in the area for a sequence days earlier.

“Today, we tragically lost a member of our crew while filming Deadpool,” the film’s star, Ryan Reynolds tweeted. “We’re heartbroken, shocked and devastated… but recognize nothing can come close to the grief and inexplicable pain her family and loved ones must feel in this moment. My heart pours out to them — along with each and every person she touched in this world.”


“I’m deeply saddened by the loss of one of our stunt performers today,” Deadpool 2 director David Leitch said in a statement to PEOPLE. “No words can express how I and the rest of the Deadpool 2 crew feel about this tragedy. Our thoughts are with her family, friends and loves ones in this difficult time.”
This was Harris’s first film as a stunt performer, according to Deadline, which reported that she was not wearing a helmet during the scene because her character does not wear a helmet.

“We are deeply saddened by the accident that occurred on the set of Deadpool 2 this morning,” 20th Century Fox said in a statement. “Our hearts and prayers are with the family, friends and colleagues of our crew member during this difficult time.”

The Vancouver Sun reported that the accident occurred just after 8 a.m. on Monday. Witnesses told the outlet that the stuntwoman lost control of her bike during a stunt, jumped a curb and crashed through a plate-glass windowat Shaw Tower. She was reportedly treated by ambulance personnel but police said she died at the scene.

According to Metro News, the stunt driver narrowly missed hitting two pedestrians when she lost control of the bike.


An eyewitness told the outlet that the stunt driver completed several rehearsals of the stunt, which involved driving a motorcycle down two ramps across several stairs, earlier that morning.

“She came out, went down the two flights of stairs, and it looked like she kind of hit the throttle because she picked up speed,” Nathan Kramchynski told Metro News.

“She was going full throttle,” he added, noting that it appeared as if the driver “missed two pedestrians” during the failed stunt.

CTV News reported that the lights and sirens of the ambulance were not turned on as it pulled away with the stuntwoman on board.

A car smashed into a pizza restaurant east of Paris late on Monday, killing a young girl and badly injuring four other people, but investigators said the young driver had tried to commit suicide and the incident was not terror-related.

French officials have said the driver 'clearly acted with intention but we have no reasons so far to suspect a terrorist motive'.

The younger brother of the girl who died is among four people who received serious injuries — a further eight sustained minor injuries.

The male driver is thought to have 'pulled up close to the restaurant' in a dark-coloured BMW car, and then 'deliberately targeted it'.

Ministry spokesman Pierre-Henry Brandet said on BFM television that the man was born in 1985 and is believed to have tried to kill himself last week.
Mr Brandet said a young girl was killed and four people were injured in a condition of 'absolute emergency'.

A police official said the man is in custody and was psychologically unstable but had no police record.

A source close to the case said 'there were quite a lot of people on the terrace' and that 'the man was arrested and is now with the police'

Bachir was lurking as two three-man patrols swapped shifts, and then he approached them slowly 'before speeding up,' said local mayor Patrick Balkany.

France remains under a State of Emergency following a long string of attacks, including an attempt to kill a soldier at the Eiffel Tower earlier this month.

The 19-year-old psychiatric patient is in custody after he brandished a knife and pledged allegiance to Isis.

In April, 39-year-old police officers Xavier Jugele was shot dead while on duty on the Champs Elysee just days before the French presidential election.

Isis claimed the killing by Karim Cheurfi, also 39, who was shot dead by police in a gun battle. Two other officers were injured in the attack.

In June an Algerian student shouted 'This is for Syria' as he tried to attack a policeman with a hammer outside Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. He was shot and ended up in custody in hospital.
And in March a convicted criminal with links to radical Islam shouted 'I am here to die for Allah, there will be deaths' seconds before he was shot dead during an attack at Paris Orly airport.

Ziyed Ben Belgacem, a 39-year-old career criminal, was killed after wrestling a soldier's gun from her and fleeing into a McDonald's restaurant.

It followed the shooting in February of a man outside the Louvre museum in the heart of Paris after he attempted to storm the historic art gallery.

Anti-terrorism prosecutors have opened an enquiry into today's attack. The assailant will be questioned at length 'when his condition allows', said an Interior Ministry spokesman.

West Ham striker Javier Hernandez has given his thoughts ahead of his first return to Old Trafford since departing the club in 2015.
The diminutive Mexican is in line to make his debut against his former club this Sunday in United’s Premier League opener.

In a pre-match press conference Chicharito admitted he was still unsure on whether he would celebrate if he found the back of the net versus United.

“It’s my old club with my old fans and my old stadium, so probably I cannot celebrate,” he told reporters. “But as well it would be my first goal with my comeback with a club that has a lot of confidence in me.

“I don’t know – in this type of game and with these type of opportunities i will not think about celebration.”
Hernandez spent five seasons as a Red between 2010 and 2015 in which he scored 59 goals in 158 appearances across all competitions, before he left for Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen.

Mourinho revealed towards the end of last season that if he had been in charge in 2015 he never would have let the striker leave, however, Hernandez’s mind appears to be firmly on his current club and Sunday’s match.

“My mind is completely at West Ham,” he added. “But I do appreciate the words he has said in the past months but right now I am a Hammer.”

Hernandez joined Slaven Bilic’s side for a reported £16million this summer from the club United sold him to, Bayer Leverkusen, but the 96-time Mexico international declared he had no regrets about his exit from the Reds.

A girl in the Piedmont, Italy was turned down for a retail assistant position by a shopkeeper because she is in a relationship with an African man.
According to Corriere della Sera, the shopkeeper is purported to have told the girl:
"As far as I'm concerned, you can go out with the Monster of Florence (ED: a serial killer who butchered women in the 1990s), but allow me to not entrust the safety of my store to those who share their life with an African,"

The story went viral after Chiara del Gaudio shared the exchange on her Facebook profile. According to reports, Claudio, the shopkeeper, advised the 18-year-old to not show photos of her relationship if she wants to find a job.

Reacting to the incident, Maria Luisa Coppa, president of the Torino Union of Traders, said: "Respect and integration are values that animate our activities,"
"Episodes such as the one reported do not belong to our culture," added Coppa, stressing the role that immigrants play in the city's economy."

Ms Coppa also posted Huffington report on the incident and wrote:

A 24-year-old Cynthia Jepkosgei Muge is the newly elected MCA of Kilibwoni ward, Nandi County, Kenya.
Muge ran as an independent candidate because she could not afford the cost of her party’s nomination form.

She shocked many in the Jubilee Party stronghold after she emerged victorious with 8760 votes defeating her closest competitor Wilson Kiptanui of Jubilee who garnered 8354 votes.

“I took a chance as an Independent candidate and won after a difficult penniless campaign,” Muge told journalists.

The University of Nairobi graduate attributed her victory to low key issue-based campaigns that directly targeted voters in their homes as well as her determination despite multiple challenges.
Her friends also lent her a helping hand by using the social media, especially Facebook, to solicit votes.

Muge has a Bachelor’s degree in Planning, City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning from the University of Nairobi.

A 17-month-old boy was killed in a 'tragic road accident' outside a chain hotel.

More than a dozen police cars gathered by the Ibis Budget Hotel in Salford Quays, Greater Manchester, after the crash at 9pm.

At least three ambulances were also seen outside the building, which is half a mile from Manchester United's iconic Old Trafford ground.

The crash happened in the car park of the Ibis Hotel, which is also connected to the AC Hotel, which is run by Marriott.

Witnesses described hearing people screaming and armed police flooding the area.

It has since emerged that the armed officers only attended as they were nearby at the time.

Lindsay Avery wrote on Facebook: 'I heard the screams and saw people in panic.

'I called an ambulance because it seemed someone had been hit by a car. I couldn't actually see anything though, just some very distressed people.'

Manchester Evening News reporter Samantha Yarwood described seeing police talking to a 'little girl on a bench' who 'appears to be wrapped in a towel'.

Police Sergeant Brian Orr of the GMP Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: 'This was a heart-breaking incident involving a young boy which has understandably left his family distraught and the thoughts of everyone in the SCIU are with them at this terrible time.

'At the moment this appears to have been a truly tragic accident and not a suspicious incident; however we have launched an investigation to establish a full understanding of exactly what happened.

Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, has said that any investor desirous of making a fortune on his investment in Africa will always consider Nigeria as the best economic destination on the continent.

According to Vanguard, the Acting President also disclosed that there was massive payment assurance scheme of over N701 billion the Federal Government was infusing into the power value chain to free up the chain.

“I like the idea of investors knowing that the reason you are coming to Nigeria is not to help Nigeria.You will ultimately end up helping Nigeria, but the reason you are coming here is the fact that this is a good place to do business,” he said.

Speaking at the Nigerian Initiative for Economic Development, NIED, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, yesterday, the Acting President said the country would be hosting the largest private sector investment of single line refinery in the world that will be producing 650,000 barrels of oil every day as well as the largest single line fertilizer plant in the world that will all be ready by the end of 2018 and early 2019.

He said: “So, really, Nigeria is a place that is waiting to happen and it will happen. That’s really the point. It will happen. The truth of the matter is that any country that opens itself to free enterprise, the way Nigeria is opening itself to free enterprise, will somehow find that it will work.

“That is one of the critical things that we are bringing into the mix. We are insisting that the only way that this country can make the profit that it needs to make is by private sector investment, beginning with local investment.

“That’s why we are working so hard on making the investment climate profitable and easy for those who are doing business already.

“We believe that those who are doing business already will invariably bring in those who want to do business from outside the country, foreign investment etcetera.”

“But we think that it must be private sector driven. Our budget is N7trillion this year. Now, N7trillion is a small amount of money. I am not adding the budget of the states because if you add that it comes to something close to N20trillion. But just looking at the federal budget it is just N7trillion.

“But we have private sector investments that challenge that size. For example, the largest single line refinery in the world is a private sector investment and it’s going to be doing 650,000 barrels of oil every day.

‘’That refinery is purely private sector driven. Also, the largest single line fertilizer plant in the world is being set up here. All of these will be ready by the end of 2018, some early 2019. They are huge private sector investments that completely belie the size of the federal budget and belie everything else.

“So, really what we intend to do is to push private sector and that’s why we are doing everything that we are doing to ensure that the private sector can come in and invest. Look at the power sector for example; the power sector is almost completely privatized.

“But we have had difficulties because of tariffs, for example. Many times you look at our power sector, we have an installed capacity of about 12,000 megawatts today but we are only able to put on the grid under 5,000, a little above 4,000 megawatts. But we know that the potential is way beyond that maybe four or five times that.

“But what do we do to ensure that we realize that potential? What we need to do is to make this profitable for the private sector. So, we are working on the whole value chain. We are trying to free up that value chain, beginning with working on tariffs, and then, looking at the how, at the moment we have problem of liquidity in the value chain and we are addressing that.

“There is a massive payment assurance scheme of over N701 billion that we are infusing into the power value chain to free up that value chain. Once we are able to do that and we address the issue of tariffs we open it up again. And then people can come in and the big investors can come in and invest in power.

“This is a country of 180 million people and in another 10 years’ time we are probably going to be the sixth or seventh largest country in the world. There is no way we are not going to need power, whether it is off-grid power or on-grid power. Power is required by everyone where we have a major power deficit. So, we are going to open up that power sector and anyone who invests in power sector will definitely make money. No question. It is going to be much bigger and better than even the Tele-cos.”

Continuing, he said, “My friend is from Rwanda. Rwanda is a very lovely country and Paul Kagame is an incredible individual doing really good things in that country and I believe that the country will do great things. But compare Rwanda to Nigeria in terms of just the size of the economy. We have 36 states in Nigeria. Lagos alone which is the commercial nerve centre is six times the economy of Rwanda.

“So, really when you compare some of these things people say Oh! I want to go to there; I want to go here…Yaah! It’s okay. But the truth of the matter is that if you are really serious about investing in Africa, this is where you have to come to. This is absolutely where you must come to. There is no other place.

“So, I really want to say that we are very excited about the partnership that we are building with Nigerian Initiative for Economic Development NIED. And we really want to make this work and that’s why we brought all of our people to make these presentations and we will be meeting with you later on in the day.

“Just as Industry, Trade and Investment Minister has said, we are here and we want to make sure that we are interacting with you on a regular basis. As he said, it is not a sprint, it is a marathon.

“So, we have to keep at this. We should not lose focus. I like the idea of investors knowing that the reason why you are coming to Nigeria is not to help Nigeria. You will ultimately end up helping Nigeria, but the reason why you are coming here is because this is a good place to do business.

“And that is the only thing that should interest us and focus our minds. Ultimately, we will help our country, but first and foremost, this is a very, very good place to do business and it is going to be a profitable place—and very profitable for all of us.”

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has confirmed Cristiano Ronaldo is fit to feature in Tuesday's UEFA Super Cup clash against Manchester United but was enigmatic when pushed on whether his star would play.

Ronaldo only officially returned to team training from an extended summer vacation on Saturday, but Zidane suggested the four-time Ballon d'Or winner has lost none of his potency over the holidays, per ESPN FC's Rob Dawson:

Social media has mixed reactions to news that Aaron Carter says he's "attracted to both men and women."

According to TMZ, The singer posted a lengthy note to his page Saturday night, revealing that not being open about his sexuality has been weighing on him for quite some time. He does not specially use the term "bisexual," but shared he's been with both genders.

"There’s something I’d like to say that I feel is important for myself and my identity that has been weighing on my chest for nearly half of my life," he said. "This doesn’t bring me shame, just a weight and burden I have held onto for a long time that I would like lifted off me."

"I grew up in this entertainment industry at a very young age and when I was around 13-years-old I started to find boys and girls attractive. There were years that went by that I thought about, but it wasn’t until I was 17-years-old, after a few relationships with girls, I had an experience with a male that I had an attraction to who I also worked with and grew up with," he wrote.

Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde would rather sign Paulinho than Philippe Coutinho


Barcelona are set to have a busy final month of the transfer window after selling Neymar to Paris Saint- Germain.


The Catalan giants are now armed with a warchest worth in the region of £200million - leading to talk they could be about to land a marquee name.

While the Neymar saga has been going on, Barcelona have been pressing ahead with plans to sign Liverpool star Coutinho.

The Brazil international is the top target among the club's hierarchy, having been identified as Andres Iniesta's long-term successor.

But Spanish outlet Don Balon, say he is not actually Ernesto Valverde's No1 choice. Instead, he thinks Guangzhou Evergrande ace Paulinho would be a better fit.

The midfielder struggled in England during his time at Tottenham but has since rebuilt his reputation in the Far East.

Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho has been regularly linked with a move to Barcelona Valverde supposedly feels he would be a more solid option, with Coutinho a glamour purchase.

Barcelona may even prioritise Paulinho on Valverde's orders in a major boost for Liverpool. The Reds have repeatedly insisted Coutinho will not be leaving Merseyside and Jurgen Klopp may get his wish.

Neymar has explained his reasons for quitting Barcelona to seal a world-record £199million transfer to Paris Saint-Germain after the deal was announced this yesterday evening.

The 25-year-old has become the most expensive player in football history, more than doubling the £89m Manchester United paid Juventus for Paul Pogba just a year ago.

Long regarded as one of the top footballers on the planet, Neymar joined Barca in 2013 and rose to prominence alongside Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, in what is regarded as one of the finest attacking trios of all time.

However, Neymar has turned his back on the Catalan giants’ history and success for a surprise move to PSG, who have only emerged as a major force in the European game in the last few years.

According to Metro, after the move was confirmed, the Brazil international said it was PSG’s ambition that drew him to the the Parc des Princes.

An inspirational grandma is baring all as she embraces a rare skin condition that will one day turn her skin completely white. The 37-year-old grandma Iomikoe Johnson did a nude photo shoot as she embraces a rare skin condition which is turning her black skin white.

The mother-of-four is a model who has vitiligo. She first noticed a tiny spot of white skin under her arm 12-years ago and thought it was cancer. When it started to spread, she went to doctors and they told her she had a skin condition.

This left her devastated and she even contemplated suicide as strangers would stare at her in the streets with some refusing to shake hands with her "I got vitiligo when I was twenty-five-years-old and I'll never forget it, I was devastated, I felt like my world had been shattered. My first spot was under my arm where no one could see.

When I was a kid, I used to get bullied for having dark skin and now I'm two different colours, so I feared I would have to re-live that experience all over again. It was painful and devastating I even thought of taking my own life many times, but I had kids which kept me going. People used to look at my hands and not want to touch me and they didn't want to shake my hand. People stared and said very mean, disrespectful things to me and children were afraid of me," she said.

For years, Iomikoe, from Louisiana, USA, agonised about having two skin colours and tried to hide behind makeup and long sleeved clothes. It wasn't until her fiance Phillip told her that he loved her no matter what that she decided to ditch the makeup bag.

Now, Iomikoe, who has four children and two grandchildren, has fought against her demons and finally loves her body as it is. She says that despite initially being terrified of her vitiligo, she loves being different and wouldn't be able to exist without it.

She said she's now a model and wants the world to see her body as art, walking human art. Seeing a photo of popular American model Winnie Harlow, who also has vitiligo, added in giving Iomikoe some measure of confidence.

Iomikoe has non-stop segmental vitiligo which has turned into universal vitiligo which will see her body turn completely white. She wants others to embrace who they are.

The U.S President, Donald Trump has sacked his Chief of Staff, Reince Priebus. Trump made the announcement yesterday evening in a tweet stating that he has appointed Homeland Security boss John F Kelly to replace Priebus.

He tweeted: "I am pleased to inform you that I have just named General Secretary John F Kelly as White House Chief of Staff. He is a Great American".

Priebus' sack comes 24 hours after Trump's new communications chief, Anthony Scaramucci, went on a furious rant about Priebus and tweeted but quickly deleted what looked like a threat. For months there has been a lot of White House backstabbing and tension which showed the Trump administration in disarray.

It reached a head this week when President Trump's dinner with a Fox News chief executive and host was leaked. Scaramucci became furious and made a call to the reporter, demanding to know who leaked the plans, and when the reporter wouldn't tell him, he went on foul-mouthed rants, saying he wanted to “f***ing kill all the leakers” and threatened to sack White House communications staff one-by-one until he got to the source of the leak Scaramucci, nicknamed The Mooch, was appointed just last week.

Following the leak, Scaramucci who has a long-running feud with Priebus accused him of trying to "cock block" his appointment to Trump's top team. And just one day after the rant, Priebus was sacked.

As Trump took to Twitter to announce Priebus has been replaced, he thanked him for his service and dedication to the country and said that his replacement, former Marine Corps General Kelly, is a “Great Leader”.

Martin Landau died earlier this month at the age of 89 and now more details about his death have been revealed.

According to his death certificate, obtained by TMZ, the Hollywood icon's immediate cause of death is hypovolemic shock -- which is what happens to the body when you lose massive amounts of blood.

Martin‘s death certificate also lists “metabolic acidosis, intra-abdominal hemorrhage and diffuse atherosclerotic vascular disease,” according to TMZ.

Martin died on July 15 at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles after succumbing to his health issues. We continue to send our thoughts and condolences to his loved ones during this difficult time.

Marvyn Iheanacho, a Nigerian, is facing a life sentence after battering a five-year-old boy to death in a park for losing a trainer.
Iheanacho reportedly descended on the child for losing his shoe.

The 39-year-old was found guilty of murder at Woolwich crown court in London on Tuesday.

British police said the child had sustained a deadly brain injury and internal bruising on his stomach in the incident which happened on November 20, 2016.

A post-mortem examination conducted on the boy later revealed the injuries had been caused by either a kick, stamp or punch.
Witnesses said they had heard a male voice screaming about a lost shoe while a child fearfully apologised on the day sad incident occurred.

“Iheanacho was later seen talking on his phone while a child lay on his back on a bench next to him, a limp arm dangling down,” Reuters quoted police as saying.

“Rather than taking the boy to a nearby hospital, only five-minutes’ walk away, Iheanacho took him home in a taxi, where he attacked the boy’s mother, Lilya Breha, when she tried to call an ambulance.”

The boy died in hospital two days later while his shoe was reportedly found in the park by police not long after the assault took place.
Tony Lynes, a chief inspector of the metropolitan police, said Iheanacho “subjected that poor little boy to a brutal assault after flying into an uncontrollable rage just because Alex lost one of his shoes”.

“Afterwards Iheanacho came up with various stories to try to cover his tracks, insisted his girlfriend lie for him and attacked her when she tried to get medical help for her unconscious son,” Lynes said.
