free2ryhme: The recent minimum wage increase could have been a big win for workers, but with fuel prices skyrocketing from ₦545 to ₦1,000, that extra money has already lost its value. It’s basically back to square one. Instead of standing firm with an indefinite strike until the government gave in, labour leaders backed down—clear proof that they were in cahoots with the government while workers suffered. If they had truly fought for the people, they would have sustained the pressure. But now, workers are left with the same struggles, just with a slightly bigger but useless paycheck. Nothing for workers very bad. Some just added 40 across board they said it's the minimum wage. Some just increased allowance without touching the basics of the salary structure they still call that one minimum wage. Some are still setting up committee and another committee to look into minimum wage in some States. Some States has refused to pay. I just pity workers honestly. But if Na road and flyover they want to construct as usual, you go dey hear billions of dollars approved |
