Day 1. Left Toronto late so I could only do Toronto to Sault Ste Marie. Northern Ontario is a wild place at night and if you want guaranteed death drive at night or dawn between Sudbury, ON to Thunder Bay, ON. You would surely meet a Moose, Deer or Black Bears.

The roads are dangerous for night driving . Left Toronto at 1PM , Sault Ste Marie was 7 hours away. Got in by 9PM and lodged at the Pine Grove Motel. By the time I got to Sudbury it was already late evening had to tail gate a semi-truck(trailer) from Sudbury till Sault Ste. Mary.

Pic 1. Truck that hit a Moose in Northern Ontario(this is off the internet) Just to show how dangerous hitting one could be.
Pic 2. An hunter with a moose kill
Pic 3. First Stop at ONRoute(Highway stop over centre in Ontario with Food stores and washrooms for people in transit) Also has gas stations.
Pic 4 : ESSO Station( Quality is better ) Guess Nairaland is compressing it. Would have to use imgur for image storage and link it here. Petrol was $1.79 per litre.

Made the Trans-Canada East to West Journey and would be detailing my experience with pictures and videos on this thread.

Sit back and enjoy.

Route
Used the Canadian route of. I don't have a US transit visa. People who have used the US Michigan route stated it is more scenic , better stops and more villages on the road and higher speed limits.

Ontario (Toronto > Barrie > Parry Sound > Sudbury> Sault Ste Marie > Wawa > White River > Nipigon > Thunder Bay > Dryden >Kenora

Manitoba (Winnipeg > Brandon)

Saskatchewan ( Grenfell > Regina Saskatoon) and finally Calgary (Alberta).

Total distance of 3600KM and 36 hours of driving. shocked grin

Ontario was the far longest stretch and speed limits were capped at 90KM/hr on 90% of the road there. Speed limits increased once you got into Manitoba at Maximum of 110KM on the highway.

Itinerary

When leaving Toronto, I wanted to split the the journey into 3 days with the following stops

1st day - Toronto to Thunderbay (14 hours , 20 mins)
2nd day - Thunderbay to Regina(SK) (13 hours, 30mins)
3rd day - Regina - Saskatoon - Calgary ( 9hours)

Prep and Car
Car was already serviced and ready to go. It was a 2022 sedan so limited miles already covered and likely no issues with the long drive expected asides likely tire punctures if I had to take untarred detour roads. Withdrew cash, got flares , stocked up on lots of water and snacks, topped up the Windshield washer fluid due to expected bugs and flies on the Manitoba stretch(People who had done the trip had warned of this) . Tyre pressure was set to factory recommendations.
