Based on my experience with Nigerian polithiefcians and personal findings, I strongly believe that they engage in large-scale theft from the country's wealth fund. Unfortunately, many people are unaware of the enormity of this looting and are deceived by these politicians. They live lavish lifestyles, far beyond what an average person could afford or imagine. Yet many Nigerians remain oblivious to the extent of their corruption.
seunmsg: Chief Afe Babalola was defamed unnecessary by Dele Farotimi. Since he’s still very much alive, it’s better fit his reputation to fight against the lies. You have no reputation to protect so you can’t understand why someone like Afe Babalola really needs to settle this issue legally once and for all.
The case has been charged to court and we should allow justice run its course. Dele either provides evidence to support his allegations or be sent to prison and made to pay huge fines. Freedom of speech is not absolute, it comes with responsibilities. If you can’t prove, don’t allege.
Can you confidently guarantee with absolute certainty and put your reputation on the line to vouch that Afe Babalola has never, throughout his entire career as a lawyer, engaged in or facilitated the manipulation of justice or influenced court decisions in his favour?
Baxilexi: While this issue is in the purview of lawyers to debate the justifications for imprisonment. I would like to believe that’s not the punishment for libel.
You sue the individual, serve him and meet him in court. How do you imprison a person that has not been found guilty by a competent court of law?
Do we need more proof about the influence Mr Afe wields over the police or legal system?
Also, Mr Afe should put a sock in it, his hands are not unsoiled. Those who know the antecedent of LASG (a selected few) penchant for land grabbing will also be suspicious of the ruling in their favor, from Bourdilion to Maroko, to Oniru, to Elegushi, install a stooge or acquire land through staged legal proceedings.
Nigeria will develop someday, and I pray bullies, who abuse state power will have no place in it and our institution will be sanitized.
He has even done more than what DF accused him of. He corroborated what DF has written in his book. I'm not surprised. My uncle is a lawyer. I learnt some truth about some big wig lawyers in this country. What DF said in his book is true in the judiciary; it's not only Afe Babalola but also some other big wig lawyers. Afe Babalola was OBJ lawyer, imagine the combination of Afe and Obasanjo, hope you see what I'm seeing. Among the corrupt big wig is Wole Olanipekun, JB Daudu, J. K Gadzama, etc All those big SANS you see have much more influence over Judges. They even influence the confirmation of judges by the legislature.
It's clear that the current state of Nollywood is underwhelming. The storylines have become predictable and lack depth, making it easy to guess the ending before the movie even starts.
I want to emphasize that my criticism is not directed at any particular tribe, but rather at the industry as a whole. However, I do think that the influx of southwest influence in Nollywood lately has contributed to its decline in global reputation. The industry had gained international recognition and respect when it was all Igbos affairs, but it seems to have lost its way in recent years.
If you see my movie script, you will get lost. I'm still taking my time to join the big break Nollywood.
Stilloracle: As someone that attended school with this guy, i can tell U for a fact that i never believed in him as a pastor. I was very shocked the day i saw him on social media parading as a pastor. I screamed. I'm not saying people cannot repent and turn new leaf but the Bolaji i know is CORRUPT.. Sexually, Morally and Financially. Dude cannot be a genuine pastor. IMPOSSIBLE!! Even while preaching in school those days he was still morally bankrupt; sexually (even towards guys) and eating fellowship money. I bet he saw the mumurism of Nigerians towards churching to further his scam.
And YES. I HATE PASTORS. PASTORS ARE SCAMMERS. Their followers are DUMB.
Omooba77: The Nigeria Police Force has arrested Dele Farotimi, a human rights lawyer, FIJ heard on Tuesday.
Omoyele Sowore, a 2023 presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) and a good governance advocate, made the announcement on social media.
Zico5: I don't believe Tinubu on this tax reform. Nobody knows his agenda cos all his policies have never affect the masses positively. I'm from South west but I say NO.
You are right. The same way I have mixed feelings about the whole thing. APC and Tinubu can not be trusted. By the way, I'm from South West too.
I support it but APC led government especially Thiefn00bu can not be trusted. At times, I see the bill as a Trojan horse.
If the bill is meant to achieve what it spell out, then I think it's high time for the 36 state government to sit up and look inward on how to generate their respective IGR. The time of laxity and lazying around will come to an end. No more free money to the North and by 2025 when the census take place. All those inflated figures will be checkmated. I will love state policing can be established as well.
Believeintruth: See they will hold him for the 4 years and release him via technicality. If Emefiele is tried fully in court on a criminal trial, he will rope all these guys including PMB.
You are very right. When I saw this news today, I was shocked. Many questions ran through my mind:
● To what end is all these races for ill-gotten wealth? ● What is wrong with the black man? ● Are we cursed?
It is people like you that enable looters in power. Why not focus on the present matter first? By the way, do you know Sowore antecedents? I bet you don't know whom you are talking about. Why do you think others looters in Nigeria hate him? You think Sowore is your regular polithiefcians you see in Nigeria? Enjoy your delusion and your sycophancy.
We still need the arraignment of the likes of Lawal Daura, Babachir Lawal, Tunde Sabiu Yusuf, Malami Abubakar, Godswill Akpabio, Rotimi Amaechi, Yemi Osinbajo and host of others. Prosecution of corrupt polithiefcians should not be selective. Emefiele is just a scape goat. All of them from top to bottom are merciless thieves with no pity or mercy to the citizens.
diamond68: Now it's no secret among Nigerians living in the UK that the hardest time you will get in the UK will be from a fellow Nigerian. They bone you on the street, look at you in anger, you greet them they don't greet back, you work with them they try to get you fired, they see you in a train and don't want to sit next to you etc etc. It's very fascinating to observe this behaviour . So why does this happen ?
It's very important to understand that the landmAss called Nigeria is just a geographic location like everywhere else on the planet. If you evicted all 200 million Nigerians from that location and filled it up with whites or Chinese, in under 50 years Nigeria will be transformed to a first world paradise and the whole world would want to japa into Nigeria because imagine a first world country that's blessed with that much resources and it's managed well ? It would be the ultimate pAradise on earth. Nigeria has the potential to be the ultimate pAradise on earth . So it's not the country that's the problem, it's the people.
When someone japas out of Nigeria he is running away from the people not the country. And when he sees the same people in the UK he trieS to run away from them. He tries to japa from them. He does not want to associate with them. It's the same people he japA from in Africa. In his mind he associates these people with corruption and violence and brashness and mismanagement and stealing and incompetence. So the Nigerian tries to japa from the Nigerian everywhere he sees him outside of Nigeria
You are right though but not all. I've not experienced such where I'm working at the moment or even at home. But I think this is kinda common among the female folks here but for men, I've not seen any of such.
This rubbish needs to stop. Nigeria is a lawless country, I repeat, Nigeria is a lawless country. Nigerians now needs to start training for martial arts, boxing, karate and the likes when it comes down to self-defence. These uniform officers are no different from animals, wretched people.
Just pray not to have any police case in Nigeria, they can frame a new born baby for crime
Ehehehe😂😂😂 Something funny me just now. I remember a story that happen to one of my big bro👇
I remember back then when one of my big brothers used to say: "Now, my friend is now a police officer. I no get any wahala". Every weekend he will be going to meet his police friend at home to flex for the weekend. Few months passed, I asked my big brother say hope he is hearing from his police friend. He said: "Lagbaja, wò olórí burúkú ni Ọlọpa ooo. Wọn kì seyan🤣🤣🤣 That my friend go set me up. E no go better for him..." Na laff I laff inside🤣🤣🤣
Throwback: We will truly enjoy our 8year Government.
Any region that gets to power should enjoy their government.
Who are the "We". By the way, are you truly enjoying this government? Or you are giving yourself hope and hope of an inclusive government because your are also Yoruba? Lol😂 All these my moronic kinsmen sha🥱 You gonna learn, and you will learn in a hard way😂😂😂
madridguy: Your uncles at home are Obuko so don't take me as one of them.
What a compliment to my uncles. I detest my uncles, and you just did a good job to that effect. Thunder fire my uncles where they are sef. Are you happy now? Ẹranko🤣🤣🤣
madridguy: Same man tying to expose Nigeria custom.
I still dey reserve my comment.
Why won't you type this APC bootlicker? I can't imagine how you people reason. You hear from a first party without listening to the second party. Do you want to tell me that you don't know how Fisayo works in this country? What if he did that in order to guide and aid him in his secretly ongoin investigation in the oil bunkering business. I know sentiment and fake party loyalty will not allow you to reason well. Òbúkọ
justtoodark: Zenith Bank can open a branch in france....
i dont even understand what this deal is all about.... nigeria should be careful of french people....they are a very sneaky kind of white people....
Or Nigerians should be careful of Thiefn00bu. Have you forgotten the adage that says if the enemy within does not kill or give chance, enemy outside won't get a chance.
"Asked to comment on whether the lawmakers would pass the bills when lobbied and given kickbacks, Zulum said, “There are rumours around but we are not certain. But you know we are in Nigeria! What I am saying is that let us all be patriotic. We have children, grandchildren and relatives who are in villages, therefore, we should be careful not to endorse anything that would impede the progress of the north and other regions. We are appealing to the President to listen to us and address our concerns.”
You can imagine the above statement flowing from the beginning. The same practice has been in long existence since time immemorial. Bribing legislators to assent bill, you can imagine if that bill is going to favour the clueless masses. Yet, some ignorant folks are still in support of this devilish government and their evil party when their future is being mortgaged with their children and children's children.
In other news, Elumelu and Jim Ovia are codedly engaging in money laundering for Tinubu in France with their new branches waiting to be established in France. Nigeria never see anything. After Thiefn00bu 8 inglorious years, Nigerians will blame themselves. You guys have never seen anything.
