pls do an unbiased comparism for me, torn between umidigi one pro 65k and xiaomi note 5 AI taiwanese version 74k.
both have the infamous glo lte band 28 [wch is major reason am going for either of them] both 4gb/64, umidigi is mtk, while xiaomi is snapdragon 635, am swayed more towards the xiaomi, but the 10k cost difference is making me consider umidigi [arrrgh, i dislike the name, sounds kina aba-ariaria ish ;], its a gift so no shakes

the one with band 28(glo lte )can only be found on eBay online site but a bit costly, i wish any one will help me get it their and i will pay him

[so note 5 ai will not support android pie update

bolaji73:
Pls oo.. I want to order the Redmi Note5 on Aliexpress, but I was seeing two versions, Global version and Rom version. plz, what are the differences? and which is the Best??

global version has mostly all frequency bands, supports Google play store with no China blooatware and multiple languages also has global rom preinstall by the company and support ota update, while global rom is basically Chinese version installed global rom by the retailers so as to reduce Chinese bloatware and receive ota update which often delays also to support Google play store because Chinese version doesn't support it because is against the Chinese law, xiaomi recently announced that no more flashing of global rom on Chinese version and vise versa. so global version is better though it's costlier

Arcbash:

Ayblaize:
Just updated my xiaomi redmi note5 pro to the latest MIUI.
Gosh I'm in love. Xiaomi rocks!!!

My battery even became soooo strong

Chai thank God I japa from infinix

Abandoned my Samsung. Xiaomi's MIUI is addictive

please is note 5 pro in Nigeria, if yes who sells it and how much because that's the one i want note 5

eanestca:
To run this kind of business may not require such huge capital, all you need to to approach xiaomi with a proposition that you want to become there distributor in Nigeria, enter a trade agreement in conjunction with the bank to guarantee that you will pay for all good delivered at a later date with the plan of get the phones sale and pay xiaomi and pick up new batch.
At this point your major cost will be cost of a well equipped shop, run massive advertisement/promotion, get expert Technicians that will buy a space in your shop so that you supply spare parts for repair, while they technician charge only labour.

In my knowledge of business this is not a cost intensive proposal, what you need more is strategy to increase sales, find a way to make it cheaper than ordering from AliExpress and watch your sales explode.

I wish this can happen some day so that tecno and infinix will disappear with their outdated phones

yusuff4u2c:
It won't be cool if I don't drop a sentence or two based on my user experience of Redmi Note 5. I actually started using the phone with a critical mind. I was like people must be missing something, a phone can't be that good at this price. I can't believe the general performance of this phone :battery, speed, storage, full screen display, camera, charging and the utility options among others... And to think this phone is just a mid range device from xiaomi makes one desire for more. Even if xiaomi doesn't set up in Nigeria, it is already spreading like wildfire. God bless xiaomi... God bless us all...

please if you buy the phone is there any money you pay to unlock the phone before using it or kind of tariff

HenriFayol:
They were once in the position Xiaomi finds itself now. Don't underestimate the gains that comes from having physical outlets in Africa especially Nigeria.

Infinix and tecno are thriving because they are offering budget phones at cheaper prices. Xiaomi on the other hand are producing cheap phones too even with higher specs.

Mehn, there's no barrier in the phone industry for now, if there is it's can be overcome. Xiaomi will sure take over the Nigerian market if they decide to step in. And they have a whole lots to gain.

i will love to see them in Nigeria market, there phones are good, strong, beautiful and light with high specs and cheaper prices compared to infinix and tecno low specs phones, I want them to come and end infinix tyranny,am looking for a better deal for redmi note 5 pro or note 6 pro,I noticed nobody sells note 5 pro except note 5

bigtt76:
They won't understand. Same way UMI ignored my email back in 2015 look at them now... They would have made a fortune back then.

I wish they will enter Nigeria market so that this infinix and tecno rubbish will stop, there products are less in specifications and high price

delvinmaya:

the problem is nowhere to buy the Asus zenfone Max pro m1 in Nigeria

ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M1 (6GB) – Full Phone Specs & Price

Well, from past few months, ASUS is really doing great in a smartphone marketplace. They have taken a huge risk and launched the Zenfone Max Pro (M1) in India. Well, ASUS Zenfone Max Pro is a mid-end smartphone and its available in two variant.

Users can choose from the base 3GB RAM + 32GB version and the upper 4GB RAM + 64GB variant. As we all know, ASUS is known for its high-end smartphones, the mid-end smartphone hasn’t performed well yet in the marketplace.

But, tables have turned this type and it turns out that ASUS Zenfone Max Pro (M1) is a massive hit. The phone received positive reviews and it was often compared with popular Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 and Note 5 Pro.

But during the launch event, the company claimed that there will be a 6GB variant for Zenfone Max Pro which will be revealed soon. The 6GB RAM version comes with an upgraded front and rear camera. So, here we will be discussing about the performance of ASUS Zenfone Max Pro (M1) 6GB version.

ASUS Zenfone Max Pro (M1) 6GB is the top-most variant of Zenfone Max Pro which was launched in April 2018. The phone’s specification is the same and it just comes with 6GB of RAM. According to the various tech portals, you will not notice any major difference in performance with the ASUS Zenfone Max Pro (M1) 6GB variant.

Even the reports also claim that the benchmark scores are almost similar. However, its worth to note that since the phone comes with the higher amount of RAM, it can handle more apps in the background. The smartphone comes with an octa-core Snapdragon 636 processor which good at handling medium graphics games.

But the one section in which the company really did well is the camera. The camera got a massive overhaul and it can now click better images. The primary camera has been bumped from 13 Megapixel on the 3GB/4GB variant to 16 Megapixel on the 6GB version. The 6GB version also arrives with an increase in aperture from f/2.2 to the former f/2.0.

Talking about the front camera, the phone’s camera got an overhaul and its now a 16 Megapixel shooter compared to the 8 Megapixel sensor seen on the base versions. According to various tech portals, the camera now captures better low light photos and also offers improved edge detection feature.

On the HDR Mode, the camera was able to capture more detailed images and there’s also an improvement in dynamic range. The front camera also comes with slight improvements in the edge detection and it now captures more details. Well, on the battery front of view, the ASUS Zenfone Max Pro (M1) 6GB dominates with its 5,000mAh battery.

So, should you buy?

Well, ASUS Zenfone Max Pro (M1) 6GB is for those who are on a tight budget. Since the phone is very budget friendly, it comes with few drawbacks. The phone doesn’t have USB Type-C support which is really disappointing. The phone’s camera is also not up to the mark. But, considering the price tag of N78,000 ($216) for the 6GB variant, these cons can be digested.

But, ASUS Zenfone Max Pro (M1) 6GB is by far the best budget Android phone which is available under N78,000 ($216). The phone is already available on Gearbest, but it went out of stock in a few minutes and will be available again shortly. If you are not interested in getting the best camera quality, then the 3GB or 4GB variant could also make you happy.

where can one buy this phones in Nigeria and does it has a repair center where you can repair in case of fault

where can it be found in Nigeria and if in case of any problem how can you repair it

Ifedith:
I use a chinese version even and believe me, I have Google apps and I've uninstalled unnecessary apps. If i give u my phone u can't tell its even Chinese version, it's totally clean.

the problem with these phones is that there is no place to fix any issue with the phone in this country but overall the device is a very good one

noobody:
I hear smile sim uses band 20,

But all oda networks wud work fine,

Mtn,airtel,ntel,etisalat,

The one i have is not the chinese version,

This has the global rom.with google play services installed and no chinese bloatwares

Cheers

I live in awka (anambra state)how can i get it

noobody:
Asides the band 4/20 which the global version has,no other difference, both runs on the same global rom software that supports the same OTA.
Well i noticed the box of the note 5 global rom,the red is darker than the global version box

Cheers

what frequency number is on band 4/20,I heard that the Chinese version doesn't have Google services or support it and has a lot of Chinese apps pre-installed in it

I love all these Chinese companies manufacturing well equipped phones and selling them at low prices like xiaomi ,Asus ,umidigi etc I wish they establish presence (service center )in Nigeria especially Asus and Xiaomi which is gaining more fans and users in Nigeria because that is still pushing people to buy Infinix and Tecno phones because you can't easily repair those phones if a fault arises, if not infinix and tecno will pack and go besides in the world market nobody knows them because the produce phones with outdated specs like snapdragon 430 processors and still set the prices higher
