Health / Ejaculation Does Not Have To Occur To Get Or Give Gonorrhea. by tigerex27: 11:52pm On Jun 11, 2018
Gonorrhea is a highly contagious sexual transmitted disease caused by bacterium neisseria. Sometimes referred to as clap. The nickname of the clap refers to a treatment that is used to clear the blockage in the urethra from gonorrhea pus, where the penis would be clapped on both sides simultaneously.
However, this gonorrhea treatment is rarely used today, though the nomenclature remains.Gonorrhea is characterized by thick discharge from the penis or vaginal. furthermore, Gonorrhea may infect the rectum, throat, eyes, blood and skin.

QUICK FACTS ON GONORRHEA
-Gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted disease(STD).

-In the United states, about 700,000 people get gonorrhea each year.

-Ejaculation does not have to occur to get or give gonorrhea.

-People with gonorrhea are vulnerable to HIV.

-It can be passed from mother to her baby during birth.

-Anyone who has sex can get gonorrhea.

SYMPTOMS OF GONORRHEA FOR MEN AND WOMEN.
1/2 of women and 1/10 of men who have gonorrhea have no symptoms at all.Women symptoms can include;
-Frequent urination.

-Discharge from the vagina.

-Strong smelling vaginal discharge that maybe thin and watery or thick and yellow or green.

-Irritation or discharge from the anus.

-Abnormal vaginal bleeding.

-Possibly some low abdominal or pelvic tenderness.

-Pain or burning sensation when passing urine.

-Abdominal pain sometimes with nausea.

-Fever.

-Painful sexual intercourse.

SYMPTOMS IN MEN
-White,yellow or green thick discharge from the tip of penis.

-Inflammation of the testicles and prostate gland.

-Irritation or discharge from the anus.

-Urethral itch and pain or burning sensation when passing urine.

-Red,swollen,warm,painful joints.

CAUSES OF GONORRHEA
Gonorrhea is caused by the growth and proliferation of the bacteria neisseria gonorrhoeae. The disease can survive in the eye, rectum, throat, mouth, vagina or skin. This means that it can be transmitted through any variety of sexual contact.

MODE OF TRANSMISSION
- Gonorrhea spreads through semen or vaginal fluids during unprotected sexual contact, heterosexual or homosexual with an infected partner.

-Vaginal or anal sex with an infected partner.

-Touching parts of the body with fingers(for example, touching the private parts and then the eyes).

-From a mother to her baby ta birth.

-The bacteria can be passed from hand to hand(very rare isolated cases).

TREATMENT OF GONORRHEA
Gonorrhea is a bacterial infection it can be treated with antibiotics.Antibiotics for the infection can be taken orally or via injection(ceftriaxone).

-Abstaining from every sexual activities until medication completion.

-Feeling better does not always mean that the infection is gone.Medical professionals will advice that any infected person should notify everyone with whom they have had relationship with in the past month about the infection.

GONORRHEA PREVENTION
There are various ways to prevent gonorrhea

Health / Why Men In Their 50s Need Frequent Masturbation by tigerex27: 11:38pm On Jun 04, 2018
Research may have it that frequent masturbation may lower the risk of prostate cancer. Though doctors aren't exactly sure why. A study found the risk of prostate cancer decreased by about 20% in men who masturbates at least 21 times a month. An Australian study published in 2003 also discovered a similar link between frequent masturbation and lower prostate cancer risk. There is no evidence, though that ejaculating regularly protects against advanced prostate cancer.

"One theory is that during the early years the prostate gland is more susceptible to hormonal changes and is still developing. As men age and accumulate toxins from the diet or through their lungs , sexual activity may help release them. Studies have found toxins in the semen and the fluid produced in the prostate. As you age it is more important to flush them out."

High levels of male sex hormones or androgen's may increase a man's risk of prostate cancer. Thus, looking at it in a new way, a team of researchers at England university of Nottingham looked at whether men with more intense sex drives were at risk of prostate cancer .

Health / Tooth Decay And Cavities by tigerex27: 8:37am On Jun 04, 2018
Tooth decay also known as cavities is a breakdown of tooth due to acids made by bacteria during the decompsition of sugar in the mouth. If it is left untreated, a cavity or hole may occur. You can easily prevent tooth decay by brushing and flossing your teeth regularly, seeing your dentist for teeth cleaning and checkups also, avoiding foods that are high in sugar.
Tooth decay doesn't have to be an insurmountable problem for anyone. With just a little understanding of the basics of tooth decay formation, most people can easily put the issue of having cavities to rest.

Facts on Tooth Decay and Cavities
- Approximately 2.3 billion people (32% of the population) have dental caries in their permanent teeth.

- The WHO estimates that nearly all adults have dental caries at some point in time.

- In baby teeth it affects 620 million people or 9% of the population.

- The disease is most common in the developed world due to greater simple sugar consumption and less common in the developing world.

Causes of Tooth Decay
The combination of bacteria and food causing tooth decay. A clear, sticky substance called plaque that contains bacteria is always forming on your teeth and gums. As the bacteria feed on sugars in the food you eat, they make acids. The acids attack the teeth for 20 minutes or more after eating . Over a period of time, these acids destroy tooth enamel, resulting in tooth decay. Cavity and tooth decay to watch out for:
Poor oral hygiene: You make tooth decay more likely if you don't brush your teeth twice a day in the morning and before bedtime.
Eating and Drinking: When you don't floss your teeth each day you eat foods with alot of sugar in them. The longer a sugary foods stays on your teeth, the more the bacteria feed and make acids. Sticky, sweet and sugary foods such as raisins, cake, cookies etc causes the most damage.
Insufficient fluoride: Lack of fluoride in the public water supply also makes tooth decay more likely.

You can pass the bacteria that cause tooth decay to your baby. This can happen when you share spoons, forks and other utensils with the babies. The saliva you leave on the utensls contains the bacteria.

Signs and Symptoms of Tooth Decay
Tooth decay usually does not cause symptoms until you have a cavity or infected tooth. When this occurs, symptoms include;
-Toothache which is the most common symptom. An infection or irritation of the tooth pulp usually causes the pain.

-Bad breath or foul taste in the mouth..

- A broken tooth or a tooth that is sensitive to pressure.

-The pain may increase when you eat food with high sugar.

- Severe tooth decay may cause a pus-filled sac (abscess) to form in the bone at the base of a tooth.

Symptoms of abscess Includes;
Fever
Swollen glands
A swollen jaw
Deep, throbbing pain

Tooth Decay and Cavity Treatment
-Brushing and flossing with fluoride tooth paste and /or receiving fluoride treatments maybe enough to reverse early decay before cavities have formed.

-You need a filling if a cavity has formed. A filling is a material that plugs the cavity hole and restores a tooth to its original shape after your dentist has remove the decay.

- You may neeed a crown if the decay is severe and your tooth is badly damaged. A crown (often called a cap) is a man-made replacement for all or part of a tooth. Crown are also used to treat tooth that have broken or decayed so much that a filling wil not work.

- You may need a root canal treatment if the pulp of your toot is infected. A root canaal removes the diseased pulp of a tooth.

- Extraction of the tooth if the root of the tooth is severly damaged. You may need to replace the tooth with a bridge or animplant.

How to Prevent Tooth Decay and Cavities
Limit the intake of sugary foods and drink.
Brush more often (adviceably Morning and Night)
Floss and rinse daily
Protect your teeth with fluoride
Visit your dentist for routine cleanings and examination.

Health / Hepatitis B by tigerex27: 10:00am On Mar 03, 2018
Hepatitis refers to the inflammation of the liver parenchyma. The liver can be inflamed as a result of infection, disorder of immune system, exposure to certain medications and poison etc.HEPATITIS B is a viral infection that attacks the liver and can cause both acute and chronic diseases.
Having a chronic Hepatitis B virus may eventually lead to serious liver diseases such as cirrhosis and liver cancer. Also, having had the infection as an infant or child increases the risk of developing these illnesses as an adult and it puts you at a risk of acute liver failure.

RISK FACTORS OF HEPATITIS B VIRUS(HBV)
-Every person is at risk for infection.
-All infants at birth especially from infected mothers.
-Health care professionals and emergency personnel.
-Persons with high risk sexual behavior.
-Patients with kidney disease and undergoing dialysis.

MODE OF TRANSMISSION
-It varies with age,transmission occurs at 3 important times of life which are during;
birth,in early childhood and adult life.

-The virus is carried in blood and in other body fluids including saliva, tears, semen and vaginal secretions and can be transmitted from person to person through variety of means.

-The modes of transmission in developing countries are

Perinatal(from mother to baby at birth)

Early childhood infections.

Unsafe injection practices.

Blood transfusion.

Sexual contact.

TREATMENT
1. The use of drugs such as;Anti-viral(Iamivudine,adefovir,tenofovir etc).

2. Acute HB infection does not usually require treatment because most adults clear the infection spontaneously.Early antiviral treatment may only be required in fewer than 1% of patients whose infection takes a very aggressive course or who are immunocompromised.

3. On the other hand treatment of chronic infection may be necessary to reduce the risk of cirrhosis and liver cancer .Although non of the drugs available can clear the infection, they can stop virus from replicating and minimize liver damage.

Health / Prostate Cancer Every Man's Problem by tigerex27: 12:34pm On Feb 24, 2018
Firstly, the word Prostate comes from a medieval latin prostrate and medieval french. Which simply means "set before". the prostate is so called because of its position. It is at the base of the bladder.
Prostate is the development of cancer in the prostate gland in the male reproductive system and occurs only in men.The prostate gland is the size of a walnut and weighs about 20gramms.Its job is to produce the seminal fluid which is stored in the seminal vessicle.During sexual intercourse, seminal fluid comes down the urethra and mixes with the sperms produced in the testicles to form the semen. So semen technically is not just sperm but mixture of both seminal fluid and sperm.
When a man is affected by prostate cancer, the prostate gland tends to increase in size from 20gramms-100grams as this occurs it squeezes the urethra and the man begins to notice changes in the urination process.
Note ;every man will have prostate enlargement if he lives long enough.

SOME BASIC FACTS ABOUT PROSTATE CANCER
-It may initially cause no symptoms.
-In later stages it can lead to difficulty in urinating, blood in the urine or pain in the pelvis, back or when urinating.
-In the U.S around 209-292 men are diagnosed with cancer per year.
-Prostate cancer mainly occurs in older men-about six cases in ten are diagnosed in men around 65yrs and older.
-Men with high blood pressure are likely to have prostate cancer.

TYPES OF PROSTATE CANCER
Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)
Prostatic adenocarcinoma.
Small cell carcinoma.
Squamous cell carcinoma.
Prostatic sarcomas.
Transitional cell carcinoma.
SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF PROSTATE CANCER
-Burning or pain during urination.
-Difficulty urinating or starting and stopping while urinating.
-More frequent urges to urinate at night.
-Loss of bladder control.(incontinence)
-Decreased flow or velocity of urine stream.
-Blood in urine(haematuria)
-Blood in semen.
-Difficulty getting an erection (erectile dysfunction)
-Painful ejaculation.
-Swelling in legs or pelvic area.
-Numbness or pain in the hips, legs or feet.
-Bone pain that doesn't go away,or leads to fracture.

RISK FACTORS OF PROSTATE CANCER
-Age; About 99% of cases of prostate cancer occurs in those over the age of 40 and above. After the age of 40,due to hormonal changes the prostate gland begins to enlarge from 20gramm to a 100gramms and as it enlarges it squeezes the urethra and the man begins to notice changes in the way he urinates.

-Genetics; In the United states, prostate cancer affects mostly the black Americans,it is most common with the black Americans.Men with first degree relatives who are suffering from prostate cancer have double risk of having prostate cancer.

-Dietary factor; According to the U.S National Cancer Institute 33% of cancers today are caused from what we eat .Consumption of some foods like red meat, milk, alcohol doubles the risk of getting prostate cancer .Also the habit of not taking fruits and vegetables everyday doubles the risk of prostrate cancer.
,
-Medication exposure; Some links has been found between some medications and prostate cancer.Use of cholesterol lowering drugs such as statins may increase the risk of prostate cancer.

-Infectious disease; Prostate cancer has been associated with gonorrhea and many other infectious disease.

-Sexual factors; Studies has shown that having several sexual partners or starting sexual activities earlier in life may increase the risk of prostate cancer.Another study also suggest that frequent ejaculation(21 times in a month)may decrease the risk of prostate cancer.
Other risk factors associated with prostate cancer are;Obesity,Race.......etc.

TREATMENT/CONTROL OF PROSTRATE CANCER
There are several ways in which prostrate cancer can be treated;
1.Use of chemotheraphy
2.Transurethral resection of the prostrate(TURP)
3.Immunotherapy.
4.Placing the patient on Radiation therapy.
5. Early detection and treatment.
6.Surgery.

PREVENTION(s)
1.Diet-One must ensure he takes lots of fruits and vegetables, tomatoes are very good for prostate cancer,it contains an active antioxidant known as lycopene coupled with CD4 cells to fight against the cancer cells also foods rich in zinc such as pumpkin seed and okra etc replenish zinc(which are lost by men in large quantity anytime they ejaculate)

2.Lifestyle-One must maintain a stable relationship, avoid multiple partners and all what not.

3.Men should avoid tight under wears.

4.Exercise-like brisk walking.
Health / Tired Of Having A Bloated Stomach? by tigerex27: 12:28pm On Feb 24, 2018
Bloating of the stomach(tummy) is caused as a result of the presence of wind in the digestive tract. Most people today complain about having a bloated stomach,it may be more of a worry to females because every woman still wants to stay attractive and being admired by their spouse. Also, this might be an indication of a serious health problem or not.
Bloating of the stomach can be overly controlled if proactive measures are being followed and taken.Firstly,we have to take a look at the causes of bloating of the stomach.

CAUSES OF BLOATING
We make use of the acronym five F's which stands for;
-Fats(being overweight).
-Feaces(constipation).
-Flatus(wind or flatulence).
-Fluid(in the abdominal cavity).
-Foetus(as a result of being pregnant).
The aforementioned 5F's are the major causes of bloating,
Fats/Diet: As a result of energy imbalance between calories consumed and calories expended it can cause a bee-line straight for our stomach and this tendency increases as one becomes older ,sometimes it is often nutritious foods that could be the cause of a little air in your tummy.E.g. consuming beans, cabbage, carrots can lead to bloating of the stomach. Also, intake of smoothie all the time like apples, watermelon, pears and mangoes have a high ratio of fructose to glucose. This can cause gas and bloating in the estimated one in three people who has difficulty digesting fructose. If you experience bloating after taken such smoothie flavours. Not too worry because you can switch to fruits with more balanced fructose-glucose ratio such as banana and blueberries etc.

Feaces: Constipation is caused as a result of use or refined food and people engaging in less exercise.Due to our work pressure, most people find it difficulty to workout so as to remove toxic substances from the body thereby making us prone to constipation. Women for some reasons are more likely to be constipated than men.If one is been constipated it tends to increase the amount of gas in the digestive tract which in turn causes a bloated stomach.

Flatus:This is the presence of gas in our stomach which may occur naturally or due to the food we eat like beans or onion etc. There are many reasons for this but the key factors are usually a combination of food intolerance and a disturbance of bacteria flora in the gut. Therefore,if you are experiencing any symptom that worries you, ensure you seek medical advice.

Fluid: When one stomach is bloated as a result of fluid in the abdomen it is a big concern of a serious health problem and a medical attention needs to be seek because the presence of fluid in the stomach is a sign of any of the following health problems;heart problems.liver problems.cancer and all what not.

Foetus: If you notice a rise or gradual swelling of the tummy having missed your period consider the possibility that you could be pregnant and this comes with hormonal changes like slow movement of food in the body which may give rise for bloating and constipation.

SEVEN AMAZING TIPS TO PREVENT BLOATING
1.Limit the intake of alcohol.
2.Ensure you take 6-8 glasses of water and if you experience bloating as a result of constipation you need to place yourself on diet which holds water and contain high fibre like wheat bran or all-bran cereal.
3.Engage in physical activity each day to keep your body fit and allow free flow of body fluid.
4.Take in less carbonated drinks instead drink water flavoured with lemon and lime etc.
5.Take in smaller meals more often.
6.Make use of FOODMAP diet.
7.Avoid late night food, dinner should be taken later than 7:30pm.

Health / The Warning Signs And Treatment Of Breast Cancer by tigerex27: 3:20pm On Feb 20, 2018
One must be aware and conscious of the warning signs of breast cancer. But,firstly, breast cancer is cancer originating from breast tissue, most commonly from the inner lining of the milk ducts or lobules that supply the ducts with milk.
The first warning signs of breast cancer is typically a lump that feels different from the rest of the breast tissue, the earliest breast cancer signs are detected by a mammogram.Lumps found in lymph nodes located in the armpits can also indicate a warning sign of breast cancer.Indication of breast cancer other than a lump may include:
-Changes in breast size or shape.
-Skin dimpling.
-Nipple inversion.
-Breast or nipple pain.
-Redness,scaliness or thickening of the nipple or breast.

N:B:Most symptoms of breast disorders including most lumps do not turn out to represent underlying beast cancer.Benign breast diseases such as mastitis and fibroadenoma of the breast are more common causes of breast disorder symptoms.Nevertheless the appearance of a new symptoms should be taken seriously by both patient and their doctors because of the possibility of an underlying breast cancer at almost any age.
Also,Inflammatory breast cancer is a special type of breast cancer which can pose a substantial diagnostic challenge.Warning signs of this type of breast cancer may resemble a breast inflammation and may include:
-Severe pain.
-Swelling.
-Nipple inversion.
-Warmth and redness throughout the breast.
-As well as an orange-peel texture to the skin referred to as peau d'orange.

TREATMENT OF BREAST CANCER.
Women with breast cancer have many treatment options depending on the type, stage and patient. The treatment best for one woman may not be best for another, the treatments of breast cancer includes:
-Surgery.
-Radiation therapy.
-Hormone therapy.
-Chemotherapy.
-Targeted therapy.
Surgery and radiation therapy are types of local therapy, they remove or destroy cancer in the breast. While hormone therapy, chemotherapy and targeted therapy are considered systemic therapy in which the drug enters the bloodstream and destroy or control cancer throughout the body.
The treatment that's right for you depends mainly on the stage of the cancer, the results of the hormone receptor tests, the result of the HER2/neu test and your general health. You may also want to talk to your doctor about taking part in clinical trial, your doctor may describe your treatment choices, the expected result and the possible side effect because cancer therapy often damages healthy cells and tissues.

PREVENTION OF BREAST CANCER
As with any cancer, early detection and treatment are major factors in determining the outcome. Breast cancer is easily treated and usually curable when detected in the earliest of stages.
The best way to fight breast cancer is early detection, whether that includes self-examinations, annual breast exams at your doctor’s office, or regular mammograms. If you’re worried that your breast pain or tenderness could be something serious, make an appointment with your doctor today. If you find a lump in your breast (even if your most recent mammogram was normal), see your doctor.
