I know ALL the people in the past smoked pipes & the older generation still do to this day. Yes, my father was black, but he belonged to the subgroup of Xhosa people that is a Khoisan/ Xhosa mix. They're called the Gqunukhwebe.
I don't identify as a Coloured because I wasn't raised in that culture. At my house we spoke Xhosa & followed a Xhosa way of life. But my 1st & 2nd year of high school, I attended a Coloured high school, because my mother wanted me to. I guess she didn't want me to lose touch with her side of the equation. It's not something I can relate to, TBH. I'm fine being just Xhosa because that's all I know & can relate to. Yes, I'm from the EC.
