Students in the higher institutions are always whining about being “broke”, “cashless” and the rest. And then, one would wonder what keeps creeping into the pockets and purses and parting with their money.
Leaving without parents and guidance in school may not be easy especially when one is a spendthrift. Few weeks from resumption, accounts are on minus and
debts are increasing.
I bring to you, money management tips you need as a student.
LEARN HOW TO BUDGET
Put down what you need. If you can do without it, rule it out brother.
OPEN A BANK ACCOUNT
Trust me, bank accounts make people save. No one will ever want his/her bank account to be dry.
LEARN HOW TO COOK
Eating out takes a lot of money. As a student, you should not lead an expensive life except of course your parents give you all of all their salaries.
Learning to cook will keep you out of joints and eatries. This is a major way of saving money as a student.
BUY IN BULK
Buy your ingredients, food stuffs, toiletries, beverages in bulk and you
will definitely have some discount.
TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOUR STUDENT ID CARD
Many ventures give discounts to students on presentation of their ID cards. What on earth stops you from carting your ID with you? What stops you from demanding a discount as student?
BUY SECOND HAND CLOTHES
Don’t crucify me! Yes, you can purchase second-hand clothes. It does not kill, it’s just being frugal.
When your wardrobe gets drab and you have just little, make use the available. They can be fashionable.

The West African Examination Council Of Nigeria On Wednesday explained that blind candidates are also engaged in the form of Malpractice through collusion method.
The Head of Test Administration of WAEC in Nigeria, Frances Iweha-Onukwu said the reason could be that the candidates were usually not well equipped individually for the examinations.
She added that this had been responsible for what she described as ‘not too wonderful performance’ among the blinds.
“We have discovered that there is usually high incidence of collusion among blind candidates during examinations.
“That is why their performance has not really been anything wonderful.
“Our society is such that there have not been adequate and conscious efforts to take care of the challenged.
“There have not been enough trained personnel to guide blind candidates before being exposed to major external examination,” she said.
She said a situation where a teacher who studied Special Education in higher institution is employed to cater for the needs of physically challenged persons of various dimensions, was worrisome and must be reviewed.
“I cannot explain how one teacher, who studied special education can be given the singular task of meeting the academic needs of the deaf, dumb, the blind and all others.
“Meanwhile, there are candidates who need personalised attention on one-on-one basis.

2016 is BASE ONE’s year and these are not just empty words, as the ‘Headies 2015 Rookie Of The Year’ nominee follows up the release of his singles WEREY RE RMX and SKON SKON, with the visuals for Werey Re RMX, which features hiphop heavyweights PHYNO & OLAMIDE.
The video was put together by the same team that brought us QUE PELLER’s ELENIYAN video, with ace filmmaker FRIZZLE directing and dance maestro KAFFY co-directing. The featured artistes PHYNO & OLAMIDE came through and put in a lot of energy and support.
A strong contender for ‘Video Of The Year’, the video is creatively crafted with many tasking scenes coming together to form the body of work. From having Base One hanging from the ceiling to get an upside-down shot, to building amazing sets for other scenes.
AQUILA RECORDS LYRICAL MACHINE-GUN, as BASE ONE is fondly called, has most definitely come of age after investing years into developing himself as an entertainer before getting signed, and this video is set to cement his stance as a serious contender for ‘Artiste Of The Year’ anywhere.
