PoliticsNCDMB Executive Secretary, The Bayelsa APC Battle Before And Now by timmy247x(op): 7:13am On Sep 27, 2016
The political alignment between former Governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Timpre Sylva and now rival Tiwei Orunimighen started as far back in 2007 and the two partnered quite well as Boss and and political subordinate until it went sour earlier this year.

They say politics has no permanent friend or enemy, a phrase which can best describe the relationship between the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial aspirant in Bayelsa State, Chief Timipre Sylva and former Chairman of Southern Ijaw Local Government Area in the state, Tiwei Orunimighen.

Although many political analysts of both divide have argued severally drawing home their points to why the once Cemented relationship broke up but NEXTNEWSLIVE.COM wouldn’t be part of the toga except for one.

We can authoritatively tell you that, one of last reason Tiwei left his former boss was on the appointment of Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Content Monitoring Board (NCDMB) which Engineer Simbi Kesiye Wabote has comfortable occupied Monday, September 26, 2016 as approved by the President Muhammad Buhari.

Problem started when Tiwei approached Chief Sylva his former boss to occupy the exotic position alongside a long list of several nominees into various position but met a brick wall as he appeared not qualified for the job.

Our source siad Chief Timipre Sylva could not grant Tiwei request because the job was an experienced hand in the Oil and Gas sector for at least fifteen years and the choice was Engr. Simbi Kesiye Wabote, a decision which has separated the two.

Industry report shows, until Engr. Simbi Kesiye Wabote’s appointment as the Executive Secretary Nigerian Content Monitoring Board (NCDMB), he was General Manager, Business and Government Relations Shell Nigeria Ltd.

He is an oil and gas professional with a proven track record in his chosen career and from Okpoama town in Nembe Local Government Area of Bayelsa state, Chief Timipre Sylvia’s hometown to be precise.

The appointment of Engr. Simbi came as a surprise to may as they were wide speculations that the former governor and leader of APC, Sylva was no longer in charge of the party in the state, a claim made severally by the departed Tiwei and friends but loyalists at other divide says it was expected and a welcome development and referred to the appointment as a “square peg in a square hole”.

PoliticsMy Experiences With Top Northern Youths At The Summit (Part I) —Enewari by timmy247x(op):
———Enewari Timi-ikio Tuesday

The National Youth Summit 2016 at Abuja, Nigeria may have come and gone but the indelible mark it left in my heart as a Nigeria youth and more touching as a youth from much talked about South-South region in the country.

The fun filled youth summit not only changed our perception as youths but grilled us to be transformers of the generation next which most viewed as bleak without hope and marked as a time to regret ills of the past.

The biggest moment of my sojourn at the Youth Summit in Abuja was not only the fun and pleasantries with youths of different colours, sizes, cultures, languages, across the 36 states and even those outside the shores of this country but my meeting with one of Northern Nigeria’s foremost youth, COMRADE ISAAC BALAMI was quite humbling.

He is the President of the Nigeria Aircraft And Pilot Engineers (NAAPE), the trade union that caters for pilots, aircraft maintenance engineers, and flight engineers in Nigeria.

My expectations of the summit was in no measure surpassed all projected pictures with a three-day trilling resource packed sessions with unexplainable ambiance, all summed up in my reflections about a section of youths in the country.

BALAMI dressed in all white climbed the podium as a key note speaker did not only inspire young Nigerians about his humble beginning as a child in Borno State but resurrected dead hopes and at that point, I completely forgot which region of the country I came from, so my heart pressed on to meet ISAAC BALAMI no matter what it takes.

Though fickle at few minutes wondering what an accomplished Northern youth like Engineer BALAMI got to do with an inconsequential young man from the creeks with a lot of bastardized image. Not only did that thought hit me, the high horse South-South Youth leaders were riding on where sycophancy thrive and overshadow leadership responsibilities except few who could really accord commoners all their time.

Then again, for a second thought, I borrowed the “WARRI NO DEY CARRY LAST” spirit from my Delta brothers but in this case, “BAYELSA NO DEY CARRY LAST”. All I wanted was nothing else but to simply tell him;

"Sir, you spoke not as a Northern youth but a Nigerian leader who should continue in this same mentality without a second thought.”

Without much I do, I booked an appointment to meet him and in less than fifteen minutes, I was sited face-to-face with Engr BALAMI. I poured my heart out in few minutes about the perceptions between the North and South which has over showed every topic in this country and the need to maintain balance.

The young former Public Relations Officer PRO/Spokesman of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), of Nigeria who holds the Aircraft Engineering License TB 9 Engine and Airframe, Pressurized Airframe, Gas Turbine Jet Engine Hawker 4000 New Generation Jet from the Flight Safety International, Kansas, USA smiled and nodded to my views. Not did Engr BALAMI offered all personal correspondence but have been in touch through text and whatsapp messages for the past 48hours.

Without ethnic bigotry, I categorically say, this simple and humble spirit is hard to come by from youth leaders in my region because unlike BALAMI who was with just a single aide at the time of our meeting, it takes courage, strength and God to pass through at least fifteen – twenty sycophants believed to be aides before you could meet and sit with an average youth leader in my region.

The National Youth Summit tells a story about a polarized Nigeria with wrong perceptions about each without realizing that, the key to upturn the situation rest wit us as young people, an example BALAMI has exhibited that need emulation.

PoliticsD First Lady’s Quadruplet, & D Need 4 State-of-the-art Medical Centre In Bayelsa by timmy247x(op): 3:55pm On Sep 25, 2016
------John Ayebaralate Okhai

Well, the story of Mrs Rachel Seriake Dickson giving birth to a set of quadruplet in the US is no longer news, what has amazed me is the divergence of opinion from a cross section of Bayelsans who happens to be sceptical about the story.

While I have no apology for being a Dickson critic, I hold absolutely nothing against Mrs Rachel Dickson, Dickson is accountable to the people, his wives are not.

Interestingly, the question on the lips of many Bayelsans, especially those who claimed to have seen the first lady a couple of months ago, is “when did she get pregnant?” A commentator on facebook on a post announcing the good news, claimed she saw the first lady three months ago at a church convention, and what she saw doesn’t look like a womb that carried one baby, and thus wondered how the quadruplet came about.

Burrowing through the opinions of some Bayelsans on facebook over this cheering news, leaves one laughing out loud. But then, you may not want to blame them for their scepticism, they seem to have fair enough reason(s) to hold such opinion. Some have even questioned the pictures making the rounds on the social media, purported to be that of the bundles of joy to the first family. Such scepticism would not have arisen, if Dickson’s restoration government have not carved a niche of propaganda for itself. It is sad that there is no strand of trust binding the people to their supposed leader, so whatever comes from him, is taken with a pinch of salt, because the people he ought to lead have been so lied to that even when something is true, they still are now sceptical about it.

My objective here is not to question the veracity of the great news of God’s priceless gifts to the first lady, I join other well meaning Bayelsans to felicitate with her, especially considering her situation and the widespread rumoured incident of a trailer that had a head-on collision with a volkswagen bettle car, which was rumoured to be the reason for her former state of ………

I would be greatly joyed to see the first lady give suckle to the bundle(s) of joy, that only the creator and life giver can bless a woman with, motherhood. And that is my sincere desire for the first lady.

Believing the quadruplet news is not being politicised as some have curiously opined, i’m quite sure the restoration government’s gung-hos would have been delighted to see the state’s first lady delivered of her quadruplet in any of the state-of-the-arts medical facilities put in place by the Ofuruma Pepe. That would have made their gospel of restoration, easily acceptable even to the government’s most ardent critics. Or could the said dramatic transformation only be seen on paper and billboards, where they are easily discerned as computer generated images?

Perhaps if the 500 bed hospital which Dickson inherited at about 95% completion, and which had all its equipment locked up in containers in the hospital premises, which sadly has lost the manufacturer’s warranty, had not been politicised, it could have been good enough to host the first lady and provide her with the desired medicare. This would have been a perfect marketing strategy, that would have opened up the facilities to medical tourists, thus boosting the revenue drive of the state.

Mr governor, enough of the computer generated images of Bayelsa being the Dubai of Africa, give Bayelsans what they truly deserve, tangible people oriented projects.

Once again, congratulations to the first lady, Mrs Rachel Seriake Dickson.

Shalom!

YENAGOA

When ex president jonathan was governor of bayelsa state, almost a decade ago,the Economic and Financial Crime Commission confiscated over $13.5 million dollars of monies allegedly belongiing to Mrs Patience Jonathan, the wife of the then governor of bayelsa state.A court also froze over 104 million naira, her funds caught in a complex web of money laundering charge.

That was then. The lastest round of another yet mind boggling financial scam runing into $31 million dollars is a pointer to the fact that the leopard just can’t cleanse his spot . There are also allegations of a 5 billion naira hotel in Abuja, another 10 billion hotel in yenagoa, the capital of bayelsa state, with other choice properties runing into billions scattered across Nigeria.

I am not interested in any sob stories about “Witch Hunt”..Please.I only know that in Ogbia lga, Bayelsa state and the Niger Delta region at large, there are no good roads,no light,no pipe borne water.Nothing to show for the six years of intense kleptocracy that define the past administration of Goodluck Jonathan.

But yet, they have money to build hotels and mansions but tell the poor that it is the northerners that is trying to suppress our growth?..They have monies to build countless Aridolf’s but can’t even influnce government mega projects in their domain, even when they held sway at leadership?

I know the Wailers are going to cry “Witch Hunt!”.They would say this even in their abject penury and under development. You want to defend someone who dont care if you live or die?

The former military head of state,General Sanni Abacha, was alleged to have looted billiins of dollars during his reign and some of those monies are being repatriated back in batches through successive adminstrations but I have never heard the northerners yell blue murder.I have never heard the family of Abacha, cry foul. I never heard of any Abacha family member trying to lay a legitimate claim to the...........

CrimeOutrage In Yenagoa As Over 106 Youths Including Minors Land In Police Net by timmy247x(op): 7:26am On Sep 20, 2016
YENAGOA --------Several young people including minors have landed in police net in Bayelsa prompting a serious outcry.

There has been a mass arrest of 106 youths including minors by the police for cultism in Bayelsa State.

However, some parents and guardians in the state have kicked following the incident.

According to The Nation, the police further caused controversy by their decision to arraign 58 of the suspects at the state High Court on two-count of conspiracy and membership of cult groups.

The suspects including four minors were rounded up when a police squad raided some black spots in the capital city, Yenagoa.

The court presided over by Justice Naiyi Aganaba, was however, said to have granted bails to the accused persons and asked them to show proofs of innocence and non-membership of the cults.

As part of conditions for their bails, the court reportedly asked them to provide N100,000 each, sureties who must be senior civil servants from grade level seven and resident in Yenagoa.

Justice Aganaba, adjourned the case to October, 20, 2016.

But angry parents of the arraigned suspects protested outside the court premises, accusing the police of illegal arrest of innocent people.

A parent, who identified himself as Kelvin, said his son was arrested few metres away from their home while on errand to buy a loaf of bread.

“When I accosted the policemen after I heard my son scream for help, the police threatened to shoot me dead. They asked me what my son was doing outside after 8pm”, he said.

Another woman, who claimed to be wife to one of the suspects, said her husband was arrested few minutes after their newborn’s dedication at home.

He said: “He was accompanying a guest who attended the dedication event to the bus stop when he was arrested.

“All pleas and explanations we made to the police fell on deaf ears. How do I bail him when we just spent money on hospital bill for the new baby’s delivery and dedication?”

Also some members of the the Hausa community in Yenagoa, who joined the protest said over 32 Hausa persons were among the suspects arrested by the police.

They said 12 of them including four minors were among the persons brought to the court.

“Most of them were operators of commercial tricycles known as Keke Napep”, they said.

Reports reaching us now has it that Secondary school teachers in Bayelsa have embarked on an indefinite strike.

National Union of Teachers (NUT), Bayelsa State Chapter gave the directive this morning and the union is going round schools in Yenagoa, the state capital at the time of filing this report to ensure full compliance.

NUT’s decision to shut down schools in the state one week after resumption is tied on the refusal of the Bayelsa State government to fulfill several agreements it had with teachers in the state.

The NUT is expressing dissatisfaction over Governor Henry Seriake Dickson’s inability to pay members salaries for several months and appears, all efforts to broker peace between the parties has ended in a deadlock.

NEXTNEWSLIVE.COM gathered, the teachers have also proceeded to the Industrial Court in Yenagoa to seek redress over the matter. Our correspondent went round schools in Yenagoa metropolis to get first hand information and a teacher who spoke with us vehemently reiterated their resolve to stay at home until government pays all salaries due to them.

The teacher who pleaded to be anonymous told his students seen leaving the school premises on orders of NUT to stay home and enjoy their Christmas as there was no hope of coming back for studies soon.

Our correspondent took time out to take pictures of a dilapidated Community Secondary School Building in the heart of town, one of the most populated and the situation is not look in the eyes and certainly bad for schooling activities on there.

Recall, the teachers are embarking on the indefinite strike today after a preceding seven days warning strike in the state.

YENAGOA —— Reports from Yenagoa, the capital city of Bayelsa State says, there are underground plans by the Igbo community under the leadership of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to divert federal government’s attention to Bayelsa to foment trouble under the disguise of IGBO DAY CELEBRATION come Sept 23rd 2016.

NEXTNEWSLIVE.COM gathered that, the planned pro Nnamdi Kanu protest disguised as rally is expected to kick-start from Igbogene, just after the toll gate and will elapse at Samson Siasia Sports Complex.

Our source in Yenagoa reported that the planned protest is to garner media attention as the said IGBO DAY CELEBRATION RALLY will be widely published on the print media with a tag “Ijaws Demand For Biafra And Nnamdi Kanu’s Release.”

Several Biafra flags and IPOB T-shirts with the inscription of Nnamdi Kanu’s name and face have all been printed and imported through PEACE MASS TRANSIT and other Igbo mass transits to Bayelsa State within the week and more expected before the date.

We further gathered that, plans are in place already to float the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) ‘s flag and someone is designated as IYC representative to speak on behalf of the council.

“This is a clarion call to the DSS,police Commissioner, IYC, IJAW leaders council and bayelsa elders to stop this Igbo coup to avert more bloodshed in our state,” the source said.

PRESS STATEMENT
I did not say rice is expensive because Nigerians eat too much rice - Ogbeh

The Hon. Minister of Agriculture and Rural development – Chief Audu Ogbeh has dismissed news report quoting him as saying 'Nigerians eat too much rice, that’s why it is expensive'.

"This is totally false, misleading and a sheer display of irresponsible journalism, reckless sensationalism, and poor ethics," the minister said. He noted with disappointment that the mischievous headline in question was completely at variance with the content of the news story.

The Minister decried the deliberate misinformation by the media which has become a frequent occurrence and calls for caution, self-censorship and ethical compliance by journalists and social media activists.

For the avoidance of doubts, the minister stated that during a recent meeting he held with an indigenous Agro Company investing in the production of Irish Potato in Nigeria, he did talk about the health risk associated with the excessive consumption of rice and advised Nigerians to occasionally substitute rice with potato for improved diet.

Chief Ogbeh wondered how the statement attributed to him in the headline came about when no supporting statement or quote was provided in the content of the news report.

He advised Nigerians to beware of misleading headlines; pay close attention to media reports that come with such and should challenge the Press to abide by their professional ethics.

PoliticsPatience Jonathan & $20m Accts: Investigation Does Not Mean 1 Is Guilty(II)-Aluz by timmy247x(op): 2:24pm On Sep 15, 2016
15/9/2016
- By Aluzu Ebikebuna Augustine

It will be a sad reminder of 2006 if Mrs. Dame Patience Jonathan is not made to explain how she came about the said $31.4m belonging to her. It can be recalled in that year that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) seized a whopping N104m and $13.5m allegedly laundered by Mrs. Patience Jonathan, wife of the then Bayelsa state Governor. The money was suspected by the anti-graft agency to have been heisted by her from public funds.

Saved from prosecution by 'impunity' which largely characterized the 16 year PDP reign at the echelon of our political Stata. Patience was said to have laundered the N104m in two tranches -N70m and N34m- through one Mrs. Nancy Ebere Nwosu, a business associate of Patience.

Nancy deposed to an affidavit incriminating the wife of the man President Obasanjo was preparing for the office of Vice-President and so it necessarily adds up as why the case was swept under the rug. Chief Goodluck Jonathan, the Governor of Bayelsa state on September 12, 2006 was said to be willing to corporate with the EFCC to unravel the puzzlement surrounding the N104m alleged money laundering to which his wife was linked.

But just as Proverbs 12:4 says "A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband but she that maketh ashamed is a rottenness to his bones", Patience would go on to make another scandalous headline for a second time in a year. Her kleptomania was once again brought to the fore when the EFCC seized $13.5m from her September 2006. It is surprising that Nigerians did not cry witch-hunt then but a relatively unknown Jonathan was left in the hands of SA and PA's 'wannabe' from Bayelsa state to jostle to make press statements in solidarity with the vice President hopeful.

The question that keeps prodding sane minds is what legitimate business was Patience into then to amass such wealth? What investments yielded her such mouth watering benefits in 2006? Was she paying her taxes? It is dubitable that she came across such amount legitimately. Her husband was Deputy Governor for 8 years between 1999-2005 and she was never involved in money scandal, not until he was made a Governor following the infamous way Chief DSP Alamieyeseigha was removed which set in as a harbinger of profligacy and high scale looting in the state.

How can any sane Nigerian come to the conclusion that Patience Jonathan net worth at 2006 was N104m and $13.5m she allegedly tried to launder? How much more now with the N15m she claims to be using to settle medical bills? That is N6.3bn going be my the current exchange rate. Such stupefying amount is only but a shopworn of how precarious she and her husband left Bayelsa state financially hemorrhage.

There should be no room for benignancy on the part of the EFCC as Patience now feels she is above the law having escaped prosecution twice, she must be invited by the anti-graft agency for questioning. Claiming the N31.4m found in the account of Waripamowei Dudafa and demanding the EFCC to remove the No Debit/Freezing Order placed on the account by EFCC without explaining how she came about such amount is tantamount to dancing over the hardship currently faced by Nigerians and calling 'nonesense' the anti-corruption crusade by the federal government. If allowed to go free this time around, one wonders what she might claim possession of in time to come, maybe Bayelsa state.

The EFCC should invite her for questioning and prosecuted if found guilty.

Nigeria is not a banana republic.

“Why is it that whenever I write a story about the police arresting and parading an armed robber in Ikorodu, people hail the police and they never say, “Police should leave these armed robbers and go after the ones in Mushin or Oshodi” but the moment I write a story about Patience Jonathan claiming ownership to a frozen $15m account, her supporters will say, “EFCC is on a witch-hunt. They should leave her and face Amaechi and Tinubu”. Why is it that once it comes to politics, tribe or religion, people just don’t think straight?” – Eniola Akinkuotu 12/9/2016, FACEBOOK

Eniola Akinkuotu is a young dynamic Nigerian who is a journalist at Punch Newspaper. Like Eniola, very many of us are in consternation at the cancerous hiccups these issues have driven us to as a nation.

There has been various reports of recent linking former First Lady Mrs. Patience Jonathan to an alleged $31.4million fraud case before a Federal High Court in Lagos.

This report became thick when Mrs. Patience Jonathan claimed the money belongs to her. The former first lady in a suit filed against the anti graft agency asked the court to make a declaration that the fund standing to the credit of four of the companies and an account in her own name in Skye Bank belonged to her.

She also asked the court to declare that the action of the respondents in placing a No Debit/Freezing Order on the said accounts without any order of a competent court of law or prior notice to her, to be in breach of her fundamental rights as contained in the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The EFCC is said to have been investigating Dudafa when they stumbled on four companies’ domiciliary accounts opened at Skye Bank with a balance of about $15m. On further investigation, they were able to identify the directors of the companies who are domestic servants of Dudafa.

The four companies’ accounts have since been frozen by the EFCC while there is another account in Skye Bank which bears Patience Jonathan’s name, has $5m.

As part of investigations into a money laundering case against a former Special Adviser on Domestic Affairs to ex-President Jonathan, Waripamowei Dudafa, the EFCC had traced four company accounts to him with a balance of $15m.

The EFCC subsequently charged Dudafa and the four companies with money laundering.

The four companies charged and whose accounts have since been frozen, are Pluto Property and Investment Company Limited, Seagate Property Development and Investment Company Limited, Trans Ocean Property and Investment Company Limited and Globus Integrated Service Limited.

The Commission had taken former presidential aide, Amajuoyi Azubike Briggs, former Skye Bank official, Damola Bolodeoku, Pluto Property and Investment Company Limited and Avalon Global Property Development Company Limited to court in an alleged $31.4 million fraud involving the companies without addresses.

Others also charged include Avalon Global Property Development Company Limited.

Mrs. Dame Patience Jonathan have also claimed in a letter with reference number GA/Abibo/00226/2016, written by her lawyers, Granville Abibo (SAN) and Co, which was addressed to the Acting Chairman of the EFCC, Mr. Ibrahim Magu that she was using the money which was frozen in four companies’ accounts, to settle medical bills while she was out of the country.

In the light of the foregoing, it is clear that the EFCC is yet to charge Mrs. Jonathan to Court. It is still carrying out its investigation.

The duplication of the above facts has become pertinent in order to appreciate the case at hand. I am writing this article in reaction to proliferating provocative comments and publications that has inundated the media in this few days, stemming out mostly from bias, hindsight, parochial analysis, sheer hate for the present administration or ignorance, with regards to the $20million saga currently rocking the former First Lady. Some sympathizers of Mrs. Patience Jonathan are even asking the anti graft agency to leave the former First Lady alone and look for other meaningful activities to embark on.

It is apposite to state that the EFCC is not after Mrs. Jonathan. In fact, it was Mrs. Jonathan who took the EFCC to Court. She was the one that came out to claim that the money found in the accounts of her husband former aide belong to her. It was not the EFCC that claimed so. Thus, it is her responsibly to prove how she came about the money. There is nothing stopping the anti graft agency from investigating any public officer who lives beyond his or her means. It can be recalled that she was a one time permanent secretary in the twilight of the Seriake Dickson administration and until she proves how she came about such wealth, she is not above suspicion.

Though, she claimed the account was rendered redundant by the agency without valid court orders and prior notice to her, her claim is highly risible. Though countered that they have valid court orders before freezing the accounts, the agency could not have reasonably foreseen that the aforementioned account belonged to her, given the manner in which it was opened. The account name does not bear her name, neither does it carry her signature. It was just a conduit pipe used in syphoning hard currency.

Madam Patience never claimed ownership to the said account even while Dudafa was being probed by the men of the anti graft agency, not until a No Debit/Freezing Order was placed on the account.

By freezing the account suspected to belong to Dudafa who is under criminal investigation, the EFCC has only done what it is mandated to do. It has acted in line with the provision of section 34 of the Economic Financial Crimes Commission Act. What harm could freezing an account worth $15million suspected to be public funds possibly do to an individual who has $5million in another account? It was her claim that led the anti graft agency to trace another $5million in her account.

Is EFCC saying a former Deputy Governor’s wife, Acting Governor’s wife, Vice President’s wife, Acting President’s wife and then a First Lady cannot come about the said money? No! The anti graft agency is only saying she should give account of how she came about the money. Why is the money not deposited in her own account? Why the accounts of the domestic servants of Dudafa? These are the questions that should be tormenting well meaning Nigerians.

Some people are audaciously asking whether Patience is the only corrupt Nigerian. Some are saying the exercise of the EFCC to ‘investigate’ the erstwhile First Lady is a witch-hunt. That is nonsense and brazen display of how bankrupt they are morally and intellectually. These are the same people who will be quick to lynch petty thieves but are sympathetic when it comes to those who aggrandized billions of public funds for selfish reasons.

How we condone stealing allegedly perpetuated by those in high places still amazes me. Was it not in this country four (4) students suspected to be thieves were lynched by an angry mob in ALUU? Why are we so cowed and asinine when the thieving involves politicians and huge sums?

One Facbooker even commented on one of my post “Nigeria is a very big joke, if she is involved in any criminal activity justice demands that she explain that in court. Let EFCC invite her for questioning and subsequent arraignment, don’t look very helpless like an insane old man who is only interested in his ijaw enemies.

When will Pa Buhari going to probe the stealing of Nigeria’s oil blocks in the Niger Delta by the 97%ers?”

I wish to unapologetically state that until a formal petition is addressed to the appropriate authorities against the culprits of the alleged oil block stealing, no probe will commence. Such must not in anyway affect the culpability or otherwise of Patience Jonathan’s perceived corruption. When are we going to stop defending one wrong with another wrong?

Those who cry wolf for Patience because of their geographical and dialectical identification should point the legacies she left behind in the South South region and Bayelsa state in particular. How do people hate Lawrence Anini who stole and shower the poor market women of old Bendel state part of the booty in an escape scheme, but love public officials who stole public funds and deprive the poor of good life in society.

As a permanent secretary in Bayelsa state Government, could Mrs. Jonathan have earned such whopping amount legitimately? Was she into a business that could have fetched her that amount? She has to prove that it’s not ill-gotten wealth.

If this administration wants the desired change it seeks from Nigerians, this case must be used as a shopworn if we are to still think this Government is serious after all.

Now that a Leader has just been linked with a case of corruption, she should be invited for questioning and if her answers are unsatisfactory, charged to court.

If it is witch-hunt, nothing stops subsequent administration from witch-hunting its opposition till all our looted funds are recovered.

The anti graft agency will not be commit any wrong known to law if it invites the former First Lady for investigation. Investigation does not mean that one is guilty afterall.
