Lmaaaooi😂😂😂😂. Thank you bro. Poormanpikin: |
Yea. 3months. Your validity starts the moment your visa is issued. JohnZak: |
Hello King. I would be sending you an email.now so I can send you the link to our F1 group for your date search. kingmurainah: |
Which consulate is this exactly. Because I had my own interview at the Lagos embassy yesterday morning, August 20th, and my visa was issued this morning August 21st, on my caec portal. Exactly 24hrs after my interview. Infact I was called to come and collect my passport today. kimpoyo13: |
I read some tweets of people who citizens of western countries on a popular social media platform and I realized that a lot were approved the next day, and some before the end of the week. Efetobore1980: |
I hope you can see the date and time I modified my appointment date and the time I downloaded my new pdf. 25th of July,2025, which was last week friday. Trust me, 2025 dates dropped and about 6 of us in our date group got a 2025 date, the majority of us got August, and very few got Sepetember. If your Internet isn't fast, they might have snapped it before it even shows on your portal. Your hands have to be on deck. PrimePride: |
There hasnt been any dates since they resumed back to work ke. How come I was able to pick August 2025 last week friday. Last friday was filled with a lot of 2025 dates, both August, September, and October around 1:33pm. You probably missed those dates when they were released. Just keep checking the dates, a large number of students would be resuming this August, which would give room for the remaining lesser students to see dates. They will surely release more hopefully by 2nd week of August. You should join a visa date group so you can get alerted once dates drop.
I don't think the guy is been honest about the date he saw, i have been actively searching for date too, and there hasn't been date since they resumed back to work. in fact i am still looking and nothing is showing up in Lagos embassy again
|
Hello bro, good evening. Your I20 with zero deficit is sufficient for your visa interview. There won't be a need for any bank statement. The school didn't request for any bank statement from me because it was a merit scholarship. All they asked me to fill on the international student platform was my biodata information. Then, I submitted my scanned copy of my passport biodate page, and my admission letter. The departmental chair herself sent my funding letter to them. So you do not have any problem at all once you secure a full ride scholarship. As for you considering an Ivy league, there is no problem about that. Scholarships are based on merit, and if your department can afford to give you a full scholarship, then the details will show on your I20. Full fundings cover all aspects from tuition down to living expenses down to health and dental insurance. So you dont have to worry about bank statement. Fundings only influence the location of your school if your school is situated in a place with high costs e.g California, New york, e.t.c and they can help you add to your living expenses which would slightly differ with the amount your friends are collecting. Thats only IF. Mind you, that is the least of your worries, what you should be particular about now is to find out yourself if the department of the schools you would be applying to offer full fundings. If they do, make sure you exceed all their requirements because applications would be sent in from all corners of the world. Goodluck.. quote author=Poormanpikin post=136309362]Hello Aunty Timshin, I hope you're doing well. You mentioned you received a fully funded scholarship with zero deficit, and I'm curious about a few things. Will the I-20 with full funding with zero deficit be sufficient for the visa interview without needing to show a bank statement? Did the school issue your I-20 without requiring a bank statement since it's a full funding? I'm considering applying to an Ivy League school that offers a full-ride scholarship for my course. Will there still be a deficit on my I-20 given their location? If a full-ride scholarship guarantees a zero-deficit I-20, it would definitely influence my decision to apply.
|
Nothing is wrong my brother. Normally, they arent supposed to take your passport from you. They would just run their check and send you an email to submit your passport if you scale through the background check. So set your social media to public and await their decision. Ayinbatun18: |
You want to take a loan of 100k? Please abort that mission. First of all, Mpower will not give you a loan of more than 50k usd per annum, and I don't think Prodigy too will, besides there is no loan company that will give you a loan of 100k usd because they would be skeptical about you paying them back. Secondly, are you aware that you would be paying the interest of that loan at a higher rate all through school? If you collect a loan of 100k, you can be paying an interest of up to 1500 to 2000 usd per month. Remember that you will still need to feed, pay your rent, and utilities, and other miscellaneous. So how do you want to cope. Lest you forget, even if you are lucky to get a job in a fortune 500 company, the way America is designed, you might not be able to pay that loan off in the next 30years of your life. Do you want that life?. Now to my advise, relax and calm down. Admission process isnt something you can rush. Find schools that can pay up to 50 to 60% of your tuition, and even if you would be taking out a loan, it would be very very little. Its not compulsory to go to an ivy league, it would only plunge you into debt.Check out affordable but not low ranked business schools and get your degree there, it doesn't stop you from getting fantastic jobs. Companies prefer candidates who have great minds and can solve problems. They wont eat the name of your school either you are from MIT or Harvard. There are tons of testimonies out there about people who went to affordable schools for their business degrees and got their dream jobs. It's not worth it if you finish your degree in a year, and get plunged into debts and you start having sleepless nights. It would only be worth it if at the end of your degree, you get your salary and have left overs comfortably without getting worried about debts. Think about your family too, they need you to help them out at home. Note that this advise is not to condemn or discourage you, its from a heart of positivity and resilience. It's from someone who was in your shoes 2 years ago, but went back to re-examine everything and finally got a fully funded scholarship later to study. I wish you all the best bro. SimpleGuy001: |
To tell you the truth, I dont think the embassy is responding to emergency requests for now, so its best you just forget it. All you have to do now is to be on that portal as much as you can. I also submitted a request in the first week of july, and I havent gotten a message from them till now. However, out of frustration, I started my vigilante work on that portal on Monday and I was lucky to get an August date on Friday. Infact there were lots of available 2025 dates flashed back to back on Friday. So if you really need a date, start your vigilante work too. Trust me, they release 2025 dates, and they are still going to release more, but you will only get it if you keep your hands glued to that portal. aramide000: |
Hello Ify. Yes you can use your date. You just have to fill in a new ds 160 to match your lagos appointment, then update your barcode on your avits portal because filling in a new ds would generate a new barcode for you. Its simple. Ifemeze: |
So sorry about this sis. I think one of the problems here is too much information. Additionally, please work on your funding because they will ask you what has changed in your application since the last denial. Talk to your school about assistantships, or on campus jobs. Finally, when the Vo asked if you had someone in the US, *No, I don't* should have been your answer. If you already signified NO in your Ds 160, why changing your answer again. There shouldn't be any but...the details were information you could have quietly left out since you are sure that your cousin is back here. I think he had an issue with you there. Remember, just one hesitation could certify your entire answers as false. Probably that was why he gave you that blue paper. Its not the end of the world sis, just be more prepared next time. Well done! Teniolasmart: |
Thanks bro. Efetobore1980: |
Hello bro. Please I have another question. If as a result of unlimited dates in Lagos, I got lucky with Abuja and I booked an appointment, will I have to pay for new visa fees? I have scheduled an initial lagos appointment for Dec 15, but I want to switch to Abuja if I get dates. Secondly, My Ds 160 carries Lagos, but I havent submitted it. Will it affect my bar codes if I switch my location? Thanks. Efetobore1980: |
Thank you so much. Efetobore1980: |
Please if I'm trying to send a reminder to the embassy regarding my emergency request, what category will it fall under. Is it emergency assistance or appointment scheduling?. |
Woww. I saw that name ooo. I want to send you an email so we would talk better on whatsap. Godsknight: |
Yea I was too. I think I saw two yoruba names there, but I couldnt figure out which was which. Lol. Godsknight: |
Hello Baller! Please if you are in any F1 date search group, please add me up. Baller234: |
Ohhh. I get. If you are awarded a full scholarship, you will be paid stipends per month and the calculation of your stipends for the academic year would suffice for your living expenses, which would reflect in your scholarship. Taal17: |
Hello Sam. First of all congrats on taking a very valuable step in your career. I wrote my GRE exam a year ago and I dont have access to those study documents again. However, I studied from textbooks such as Magoosh, Kaplan, Baron, and the ETS guide. I also took lessons from a private tutor. You can subscribe to Gremat's plan on youtube. His platform is very good for applicants preparing for the exam. The moment you pay for your exam, ETS will give you a guide which contains their questions and answers. Please note that GRE is not a difficult exam, but it's an exam that will walk through your intelligence. So you need to study as far as you can convince yourself that you are ready to write the exam. Don't look at others writing it before you. Just be sure you are ready. I trust you will pass. Enjoy your night. samsolite: |
No my city residence didnt. I'm a full bloodied Nigerian. I live in Nigeria too. I only did my best and depended on God for the rest. Its good to hear that you are prioritizing publishing your papers. I wish you great luck. Poormanpikin: |
Hi bro. Good morning. I have expedited my appointment. I'm waiting for the embassy's approval. Hope you have registered for the URI fellowhip and assistantship webinar xoming up tomoro afternoon. Godsknight: |
Lmaoooo, calm down bro. That information is not true. My I20 carries a fully funded phd scholarship with zero deficit, as exact as my cost of attendance. No addition, no subtraction. I wrote a GRE though, and I scored very very high. So just do your best. Regarding that guy who told you to write a GRE, I think you misunderstood him. As much as some schools might give you a scholarship because you didnt submit a test score, submitting your test score is no big deal. Even though a lot make up for your admission decision and your test score is not a major limitation, it could still be a source of uniqueness in your application. It could make you extremely competitive. The professor(s) that would recommend you might be looking for a quantitative applicant to work with, they might be looking for an eloquent and articulate applicant in terms of publications. You just wouldn't know what they are looking for....and remember, this is a new America, you will be competiting against thousands of applicants who are also trying everything out...Now fundings are difficult to get because currently their new government made a large cut across thousands of universities in the US, which is why you have to stand out in your application. If you can afford to save up and write your standardized exams, its a great idea, but if you can't, make sure you work with your supervisor to help publish your thesis, and be meticulous in others areas to make you a strong applicant, and pray for God's direction to the right school. All the best brother. Poormanpikin: |
If your program starts in August or September, you are within 60days before the start of your program. So you can expedite and await their approval hopefully. Goodluck. Ayotoni: |
Please did you submit before the visa pause? missidy: |
Timshin: |
Thanks fornyour input sis. I just needed proof such as yours. missidy: |
Thank you for this insightful analysis. snoopy: |
How can that even work on F1 visas. It means after three months, we renew and pay more money. |
Alright. Goodluck bro. Baller234: |
