They don't have a name when it comes to air-conditioning. There are brands that once you mention, you know what to expect from them. It's just like saying buying Hisense TV as against Samsung or Sony or even LG. Hisense doesn't measure up in this case in the aspect of quality.

Okay chief

I thought you've had or you know someone who's had terrible experiences with the brand's AC units

I will not buy hisense or scanfrost. I don't know much about skyrun or TCL. We have so much of the new names on Air-conditioner brands, even though they will work but I'm majorly after reliability and long term durability.

If you cannot afford those reliable Brands, then go for LG.

Why don't you like Scanfrost?

Please educate me more

Meanwhile

Who knows much about TCL and Scanfrost units?

I have been tempted by a TCL 1hp non Inverter with energy rating of 850w. Although I'm not convinced by their one year warranty. It's a cheap unit tho at 165k

Thank you but the information came in late. I had suspended the purchase

I am about going again today

Please I don't want an inverter unit coz of bad reviews about panel issues and poor cooling capacity.

I want a low energy starter and low energy running unit that is durable and efficient.

I've done researches and I'm confused.

Panasonic, Gree and Daikin are too power hungry and expensive from my research.

I've been looking at TCL and Scanfrost, but I must say I'm confused.

Guys please help me make a choice

1hp or 1.5hp with low energy consumption, but non inverter

I hope you've gotten a unit. Please tell us which u went for and possible experiences with it.

I'm equally in an almost same shoe with you

only inverter AC can give you low energy consumption o. About the inverter panel, na lie. I used hisense inverterAC and they are very rugged, I later sold it to get LG dual inverter, person wey I sell am to dey enjoy am. I think they have really improved on inverter panels.

Any non inverter is power hungry. You can get low voltage starters from non inverters too. but then, If I were to go for non inverter I would buy thermocool tundra or hisense.

But you'll see some non inverter ACs having lower energy input rating than some branded inverter ACs.

For instance there's a TCL non inverter AC (1hp) that has 850w rating whereas there are inverter ACs with 900w or more. And the TCL is cheap at about 165k although with just one year warranty.

I understand where AnnieTiz is concerned. I am equally concerned too. Something is not clear

I hope you're still enjoying your unit

aorseer:

I want to use this opportunity to express my profound gratitude to this seller, he showed me that there are still honest and sincere Nigerians in this country.
When i saw the advert of this AC i said to myself how am i going to get it to my location (note that seller is in Ibadan and I in Makurdi), ladies and gentlemen the seller apart from reducing the price considerably also went ahead to unmount the AC, took it to the park for waybilling when i had not even paid a penny, it was at the waybilling that i paid for the AC and cost of waybill. Thank you for selling not just an AC but sincerity, you made distance not to be a barrier and made me believe in humanity. My family will definitely enjoy the AC this harmattan.
From Makurdi, North Central Nigeria to Ibadan, South West Nigeria with love.

You won't find brand new Daikin product in Nigeria except Tokunbo and they are of high standard (copper condenser)

I don't know if any of the brand you listed has a range of low voltage series

Thank you chief

I once saw Daikin at Panaserv though

I don't know if they're original Daikin or another country of origin.
Technology Market / Re: Which Brand Has The Best Air Conditioner? by tizteezy(m): 10:38pm On Mar 21, 2023
You also mentioned Daikin

Is Dikin of good quality and copper components?

Do the Daikin and Panasonic have the low voltage starter series?
Technology Market / Re: Which Brand Has The Best Air Conditioner? by tizteezy(m): 9:20pm On Mar 21, 2023
Thank you chief

So does Panasonic have the low voltage starter series of ACs?

I think the company is on promo, I would love to seize the opportunity

fashrola:

The above mentioned air conditioning units are ok but if you are talking about an appliance that will give you value for your money and durability
Go for Panasonic (If you have the money)

LG and Samsung is great because they use copper for their condenser unit, that's why it's expensive than others that uses aluminium or copper alloys for their condenser

Apart from Panasonic, they are good brands that are even better than Panasonic but they are not in Nigeria, but I've seen and experienced some of this brands since I work onboard different ships that have different air conditioning system (especially ones with standalone unit for the engine control room not the central HVAC unit)

Daikin (This brand is mad aswear, very rugged)

Friedrich (very expensive, but reliable and most of this unit does with the ship lol)

Amana (This brand of AC is something out of this world, My last ship had this type of brand in the control Room) I barely put it on for 2 hours straight cos your brain go freeze

And all of them pack pure copper condensers

You mentioned of low voltage AC? Low voltage air conditioners are designed especially for the power situation in Nigeria. With voltages as low as 170V, one can enjoy the superb cooling performance of these low voltage air conditioners even in poor power conditions. It allows you to enjoy superb cooling performance even when power is erratic and without the use of a stabilizer.

So ask the dealer when buying one make dem no carry regular AC give you.... I think Genpal is a type of low voltage AC

But the 2KVA generator will be stressed in powering the 1hp Unit.
Technology Market / Re: Which Brand Has The Best Air Conditioner? by tizteezy(m): 11:56am On Mar 21, 2023
Please assist with the above

fashrola:

Inverter - This type of AC uses single rotor compressor which requires high speed rotation thereby more vibration and noise during operation at full capacity, though its energy efficient (It takes time to cool the room)

Dual Inverter AC - This type uses two rotor compressor and moves at 180 degree phase angle (This means it provides faster cooling, reduced noise levels, high energy savings, and shorter wait time with greater stability than normal inverter AC)

it is more expensive than the Inverter AC

In a nutshell: Its just like a car with a single cell radiator and a double cell radiator... Which car go get more cooling effect pass?

Genpal: It just a trademark name used by these brands to tell you that it is generator friendly even with the smallest generator

Good morning chief and other knowledgeable guys on the thread.

Please do Skyrun, TCL, Scanfrost and Nexus make good ACs?

And do they use copper coils?

Additionally, a technician was advising me on going for low voltage AC instead of inverter.

If this is true, can you advise on low voltage ACs one can go for? These options can be among the brands stated above or other brands with reasonable pricing.

Panasonic and Gree seem to be power hungry units, but do they have low voltage units as well?

Scanfrost 800w blender
LED tv 32 inches
Small 40W LG Xboom home theater
Kenstar 18" standing fan rated at 68w

3.5 KVA will be enough to run the AC with a table top Hisense fridge, standing fan and led tv at the same time?

Hope they're good choices?

Hmm, amount is questionable, new one is getting close to 300k, even a new Junior of around 1.2kva is well over a 100k. If you have a good trusted technician you should take him along. I am thinking there are likely hidden issues with the gen.

Thank you sir

What about Parsun 4000DXE. Barely used for one year plus.

In working condition

Good deal?

I saw somewhere on the blog that Parsun use capacitors. Does this make them a poor brand?
