I have an issue i just noticed when running my generator

Everything is working perfectly but light goes off and comes on within 5 secs and this happens at the interval of 40-50mins... At first when it happened i thought thieves came to off the light to steal the gen or wait for me to come out of the house

What could be the issue and solution to this problem..... The generator is Thermocool the blue type and its barely 1yr and 6months old

No, they won't be but will last better than those Chinese brands. For instance, like midea, the way the components are arranged isn't like Samsung or Panasonic. The engineering is quite different especially in the area of the Panel.

The Chinese made of Panasonic will still have same technology as the ones manufactured in Malaysia or South Korea or even India. But quality of parts used in manufacturing will differ anyway. Again, price won't be same as those brands you mentioned from China.

Which ultimately means they won't be as robust as the Malaysia and south Korea counterparts.
Equally, the longevity of the products might be in doubt.
They may have same short lifespan as the mideas, Hisense, etc?


If that's the case, why not buy the cheaper mideas than adding extra bucks to buy Chinese models of top brands and ending up with no advantage.


It's just a logical reasoning, from my part sir. Nothing personal.

The installer that first came captured Ghana and Amos sat. Nigcomsat gave us difficulty tracking and we couldn't get it.

It's not inverter. But it operates like one. Very silent and cools incredibly fast. I got it 195k after bargaining. That was in January though.

Some ACs, we don't seem to find the original ones in the Nigerian market.

For instance, I went out with a client today to find Samsung ACs, we couldn't find Korean mades, only China models flood the market.

I think same with LG. We only see the China versions and not Korea.

Yes, many result to settling for those unpopular brand names because of the price because the likes of Daikin, Panasonic, etc are pricey and not everyone will be able to afford it. Someone i know bought Midea and the difference is really clear in the aspect of Quality when compared to Panasonic of Daikin. Even LG beats it hands down in the aspect of quality.

Personally, i won't buy them and if i cannot afford Panasonic or Daikin, I'll buy LG which is cheaper and quality better than those unpopular brands they keep introducing to the market.

Just that Panasonic and Daikin are expensive for a lot of people. However, with the Chinese model of Panasonics, it might start getting difficult to be sure of buying the original Malaysia variant, IMHO

Very true, we as consumer benefits the most where there is competition in a free and fair market. Monopoly sinply kills innovation, and exploits us. This is true of any sector of our economy. Make I no mention names .

However I would argue that panasonic are actually positioned for the high end market segment and not medium end in Nigeria. Original Panasonic are easily 100k to 150k the price of the medium segment AC.

I don't know why they gave room for the Chinese specs of Panasonic. That will only encourage fake units of their good brand

Brotherly, I have not used them personally but second hand information says the AC are great. I have also received great feedback from some people I know about Midea inverter AC.

I do not know if they'll remain good products in future but my subjective assessment is that they will because

(1) Firman Sumec has established some good level of quality in the generator market, so there is a brand name to defend. Secondly it is a relatively new product in the inverter AC market so the quality/cost ratio is attractive. Once it establishes its quality, the prices are likely to creep up.

(2) Midea though a relatively new brand in Nigeria is one of the biggest AC manufacturers. Meaning they are into research, design, manufacturing and sales of their products. And may even be manufacturing for other private label companies. My prediction is that if they have a string distributor in Nigeria, it wont be long for people to begin to gravitate naturally towards it due to the attractive quality/cost ratio.

If the cost of LG dual cool is same or close to either Firman Sumec / Midea then go for LG dual cool. LG are more established, which translates to easily available parts, easily serviceable, local knowledge about how it works is abundant etc. should the need ever arise.

[b][/b]Please if you ever decide to get any of these products, make sure you get from main authorized distributor and company. Be vigilante, lots of fake products are in the market.
