As reported by Natasha Akpoti, PDP Senatorial aspirant for Kogi Central Senatorial District , on her verified Facebook page, there was a tragic incident in Okene on the early hours of December 29th, 2022. A bomb exploded near the palace of HRH Ohinoyi, the traditional ruler of Okene in Kogi state, resulting in the deaths of three people and the injury of several others. "3 dead as bomb explodes by HRH Ohinoyi’s Palace in Okene, Kogi state. Please stay safe everyone. May God protect us from all evil" The cause of the explosion is currently being investigated by the authorities, who suspect that it may be an act of terrorism. The safety and security of the community is of the utmost importance, and we must work together to ensure that those responsible for this attack are brought to justice. Natasha Akpoti urges the people of Okene to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity to the authorities.
