Comedian Bash Nigerian. Ace Comedian Hammed Basheer popularly known as Bash, is set to stage the maiden edition of his standup comedy show D'Good, D'Bash and D'Funny on Sunday, June 5, at the Muson Centre, Onikan Lagos.

Music artists who are warming up to thrill fans at the show includes, Reminisce, Vector, Olamide, Adekunle Gold, 9ice GT Guitarman, Terry G, Falz among others while ribs cracking jokes will be delivered by  Bovi, Ali Baba, Klint D Drunk, Okey Bakassi, Seyi Law, Gordon, Koffi, Lolo, Julius Agwu, Akpororo, Yaw, Koffi, Jedi to mention but few.



 ‎According to Bash, the maiden edition of the concert in Lagos is expected to be worth any money used in buying the ticket as it is expected to be the first of its kind of any comedy show. He said: "I am bringing a lot to that event, raw talent will be showcased and there is also a surprise design for the show, so I am putting my all in this and I am very sure, it will come out well."

The event which will be produced by Bunmi Davies, will equally be witnessed by special appearances of some of Nollywood finest which includes Mercy Aigbe-Gentry, Odunlade Adekola and Funke Akindele.

A 25-year-old man, Toheeb Jimoh, has drowned in a Lagos river while reportedly swimming to win a bet. He had allegedly bragged that he could swim the Lagos Lagoon from a particular point to the shore on Saturday evening. It was learnt that when some people challenged his claim, he had allegedly dared them to place a bet. After the bet was placed, he reportedly went on a boat to the point and jumped into the lagoon hoping to swim to the shore. Friends of the deceased, who had accompanied him on a boat, were said to have fled the scene after he did not make it out of the water.

The incident, which occurred at Aiyedun Street, Bariga, was said to have caused commotion among residents who trooped to the site, hoping to save Jimoh. The corpse of Jimoh was said to have been recovered around 7pm same day and buried beside the water around 12am in line with the traditions. The deceased had only recently gained admission into the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta before the tragedy struck.

A source who spoke on the condition of anonymity said, "He and some of his friends were actually fond of betting and gambling. So that evening, they decided to take the betting to another level. Toheeb told them he could swim from the Third Mainland Bridge end of the river to the shore. When the boat they took got to that point, which was a little close to the shore, he gave his clothes to his brother and jumped into the water. His friends who were in the boat waited for him at the shore without success. After it dawned on them that something was amiss, his younger brother raised the alarm. By the time people got to the scene, he had died."

Newly-crowned BET Best Africa Act, Ice Prince has announced he will be launching a foundation to cater for orphans in Ngieria
The rapper explained that he’s started ‘The Zamani Foundation’ for orphans because he too is an orphan – Ice Prince lost his mother on May 5, 2013, 11 years after he lost his father.

‘I want to do this for all the orphans out there‘, Ice Prince said while premiering his ‘VIP’ video on June 20 at Protea Hotel, Ikoyi. He also called out on every other celebrity for their support.

‘The Zamani Foundation’ will be launched with a concert right after the rapper releases his second album ‘Fire of Zamani’ on September 7, coinciding with the anniversary of the first Jos crisis.

Former Super Eagles player, Thompson Oliha, has passed on. The midfielder, who was among the 1994 victorious Super Eagles' squad that won the Nations cup in Tunisia, died today Sunday, June 30 at 4.05 am at the Yusjib industrial medicare hospital, Ilorin, Kwara State, Super Sport reports.

Confirming his death in Ilorin, Doctor Yusuf Addulraheem told Super Sport that Oliha was brought to the hospital at the time when there was nothing he could do to resuscitate him.

“I feel so sad to confirm to you that Thompson Oliha is dead and by the time his wife brought him here, the body was completely lifeless. His wife Irish Oliha told me that he slumped in the toilet before rushing him to hospital and there was nothing we could do to save him,”

Until his death, Oliha was the head coach of the Kwara Football Academy (KFA) in Ilorin, Kwara State. He was 44 years old. May his soul rest in peace...Amen.

Justice Akintunde Abass on Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at the Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan, Oyo State, convicted and sentenced Akinluyi Akintunde, a 24 years old Agronomy undergraduate of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso to 3 years imprisonment without an option of fine.

Akintunde was arraigned before the court on March 13, 2013 on a two count charge bordering on obtaining money under false pretence. Specifically, he allegedly obtained the sum of $450.00 from one Robert Jackson (an American) via Western Union Money Transfer under a false pretense that he was a lady. 
 In his judgment, Justice Abass ordered that the sum of $450 recovered from the convict be returned to the victim, Robert Jackson through the United States Consulate as restitution.

Also, he also ordered that the laptop recovered from the convict in the course of his arrest be forfeited to the Federal Government.
