Show me where the apostles were reminding any new convert of their tithe.
the book of Hebrews went deep to clear us that the levitical law is no longer in place because the priesthood of Christ is of a higher priesthood that the levitical priesthood.

I cry for many.. especially for my country, Nigeria, where the gullible masses are higher in number.

here is where many mega churches are shouting poverty eradication mandate every day. yet the poor masses keeps getting poorer day by day.
we have been brainwashed that God is now a businessman that rolls back returns on investments. and the gullible ones are entangled in therefore, totally committed to paying the tithe which is preached as our financial security; with a bug expectations that the businessman God mist definitely pay back! aaahhhhh..

Dear Christians, the tithe we are dragging about is a buried law long ago after Christ's salvation. the dispensation of Christ is not a levitical dispensation of tithes but a dispensation of practical Christian living; helping the poor and needy and loving God above all things.
If your pastor is telling you that your tithe is a gateway to your complete Christian profile, then you are being misled to fill their hungry bank accounts.
God being merciful enough, he would forgive what these prosperity preachers are doing to these gullible masses. I just pray.

Well, to begin with, I must say two things:
1: There is NO direct bible passage or verse that nullifies or directly kick against an individual celebrating his or her birthday under a YES or NO commandment!
2: there is equally NO bible passage or text that also, in cognisance to the above, encourages birthday celebrations directly SD pertaining to individual and public celebrations
Nevertheless, the exploratory teachings of Jesus Christ particularly in the era if Herod,s reign, helped us to point out the picture of birthdays. Herod's daughter had a birthday present that requested for head of John the Baptist. Having been promised of her father, Herod the king.
the above scene pointed out the deadly acts of a pointless birthday celebration and its attendant evil carried along.
TO CARP OUT THE BIBLICAL APPROACH TO THIS, WE CAN SAY THAT A BIRTHDAY CELEBRATED WITH A WRONG MOTIVE AND WRONG DISPLAY IS SIMPLY A SIN AGAINST GOD.
BUT IS IT A SIN TO RIGHTLY CELEBRATE THIS BIRTHDAY UNDER CLEAN GROUNDS OF APPRECIATION TO GOD FOR ADDING TO YOUR AGE? NO!
ABSOLUTELY YOU CANNOT GO TO HELL FOR celebrating YOUR AGE AND GRATITUDE TO GOD ON CLEAN GROUNDS!
BUT THE POINT IS THIS: PROPER EVALUATION OF THE IMPORTANT IMAGES OF CHRIST'S LIFE NEVER INCLUDED ANY BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION. WHY? NOT BECAUSE IT IS A SIN AGAINST GOD, BUT BECAUSE IT WAS NOT AND NEVER A FUNDAMENTAL PART OF ANY MISSION MINDED PERSONALITY. HE SAW IT AS TOTALLY IRRELEVANT!
INSTEAD, HE WAS A LOT MORE FOCUSED ON THE REDEMPTION AND THE DAY OF SALVATION WHICH IS HIS DEATH! THIS IS WHY EASTER IS OF HIGH PRIORITY IN DEEP SENSE THAN CHRISTMAS THAT WE ALL CELEBRATE TODAY.
for those that are stressing this point to doctrine doctrine, pagan or whatever, you have simply not understand Jesus Christ's lifestyle and the new testament dispensation. Jesus Christ did not roll down list of commandments more than two: both of which dealt with practical christian living in LOVING GOD AND LOVING YOUR NEIGHBOUR AS YOURSELF. He was more of doing than listing! and ALL THE DOINGS CARRIES EVERYTHING NEEDED FOR US TO WATCH AND FOLLOW SUIT; WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT HELPING US THROUGH. THAT'S CHRISTIANITY

FOLLOWING THE DOINGS OF THIS GREAT MAN WHEN HE WAS ON EARTH, HE WAS NEVER DIRECTLY AGAINST BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS. RATHER, HE NEGLECTED AND TOOK IT AS LESS IMPORTANT!
IN FACT, THE MORE A YEAR ADD TO HIS YEAR, THE MORE HE WAS FOCUSED ON THE MISSION OF REDEMPTION!
WHAT SHOULD THEN, THE CHRISTIANS LEARN FROM THIS AS REGARDS TO BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS?
BIRTHDAYS CELEBRATIONS ARE NOT WRONG OR TOTALLY A SIN AGAINST GOD, BUT THEY ARE IRRELEVANT!
THE CHRISTIAN JOURNEY IS MORE OF HEAVEN AND CHRIST LIKE LIFE WITH A ZERO HEART FOR WORLDLY MERRIMENT;
HENCE, BRODA, IF YOU WISH TO CELEBRATE YOUR BIRTHDAY EVERY YEAR, YOU ARE NOT WRONG BUT YOU TAKE THE IRRELEVANT OF YOUR MASTER FOR RELEVANCE. HENCE FOCUS MIGHT NOT BE TOTALLY ACHIEVED.
MOREOVER, FROM CHRIST'S LIFE AND PRIORITIES IN LIFE, HE PRACTICALLY SHOWED THAT THE MOST IMPORTANT DAY THAT SHOULD BE REMEMBERED IN A MAN'S LIFE IS THE DAY OF HIS!HER SALVATION AND REDEMPTION. APPLYING THIS TO THE PRACTICAL CHRISTIAN LIFE, THE GREATEST DAY THAT SHOULD EVER BE REMEMBERED AND GIVEN IMPORTANCE IS THE DAY WE TOTALLY GIVE OUR LIVES TO CHRIST AND IT MARKS THE DAY OF SALVATUON BEING MADE MANIFEST IN OUR LIVES.
IT IS THE DAY WE ARE BORN AGAIN, OUR BIRTH DAY IN CHRIST.
FINALLY, BIRTHDAY CELEBRATED WRONGLY LIKE THAT OF HEROD'S DAUGHTER IS APPARENTLY A SIN. YOU CANT GATHER CLUBBING, ALCOHOLIC DRINKS, DIRTY MUSIC AND ANY OTHER ACTIVITY THAT DOES NOT GLORIFY GOD AND COME OUT BEING A GOOD CHRISTIAN. NO

Think of these things, and Help yourself to practically follow Christ and his footsteps on earth
CHRISTIANITY IS MORE OF PRACTICAL LIFE IN CHRIST. THE HOLY SPIRIT HELPING ALONG.

These people are not doing anything serious in actual sense. it is just for formality sake. After everything. we still have a completely deteriorated system with thieves hijacking the integrity and resources of the nation meant for the citizens.
