Thank you so much. This inspired me. Pls did they ask for dr’s correspondence/ appointment ?

I have been trying to get an appointment from. Doctors but they tell me until I arrive because they no longer give appointment which some people said the might require at POE,

Pls advise

Thanks again

No, they didn’t. But it’s advisable you have one. Contact Dr F. He’ll send one to you in no time. Of cos after paying $200 non refundable fee which will be deducted from the total dr’s fee. If you intend to birth your baby in Houston though

Please anyone here with recent POE experience or heard from someone that got in. Did you send email to embassy to notify change of intent and did you declare at POE your birth purpose? How does these affect admissibility? Kindly share experiences.

I got into Houston on the 4th of august and I declared I was here to have my baby even though I wasn’t asked purpose of visiting. I was asked how I’d be paying for the birth of my baby, where I’ll be staying and how much money I had on me.
There were no questions about change of intent letter or anything close. Although I had tried to send a change of intent a couple of times prior to my trip but never got a response.

In the light of your reply, i would just advice you go ahead and make the trip but with the necessary preparations like having Doctor and Hospital correspondence, accommodation arrangements and proof that you can pay your bills (either by carrying cash that you can show at POE Or having it in a card)
Thanks for your reply. I’ll be back here with some good news… hopefully 😁

where you asked your reason for traveling to the US, if yes, what was your response? If you were asked and child birth was not in your response, then you're on a long thing o and i don't think change of intent letter would do you any good. The change of intent letter is for people who got their visa when they weren't pregnant or didn't know and now they want to use it for child birth. But if you were not asked your reason for the trip, then i would advice you just go ahead and travel and hope for the best.

Like I said I applied 1st week in March and I was about 10 weeks then. In my form, I clearly didn’t write child birth as I didn’t know rules had changed since my last visa in 2018. There were no dates for an interview until this month. And when I got there, my interview didn’t last up to a minute. I wasn’t asked why I was traveling. It was already written on my application form. The one I sent since March right? She only asked my purpose for traveling previously to which I stated it was for child birth. She went ahead and told me my visa would be ready in 5 days. After that she added “I’m not saying you’re pregnant or you intend to have another baby in future, but there’s a new law for birth tourism”. And she handed the white paper for pickup. And I honestly didn’t know anything about applying for just birth tourism. That’s why I’m here seeking advice.

Please have you had a child in the US before? I also got a 221(g) after I applied through Dropbox. I am deliberating whather it has anything to do with having my children in the US.

Yes, my last visa was used for that purpose. As soon as the VO asked how many times I had been to the US, I told her, told her how long I stayed and why. She didn’t even ask for anything else. Oh yeh! And what I do for a living.

Also, I need advice please. I applied for Dropbox 1st week in March and after about a month, I got the 221g letter. Went for my interview on the 13th of May, obviously very pregnant but was still granted B1/B2 visa. Would it look funny if I sent a change of intent letter just a few weeks after getting my visa to say I want to birth my baby in the states? Hope my visa won’t be cancelled

What I did was book an appointment with the passport agency. If you have urgent international travel you can do this but appointment is limited. You need to be traveling within 2 weeks to book an appointment. You also need to have your baby travel itinerary. It cost &175 and you get your passport that day

Hi Demmy2021,
How did you get your baby’s travel itinerary without giving the airline its passport details? Delta insists I must have baby’s passport details to get her ticket. Please advice

Yes you can use your visa. Ensure you
get to the point of entry before the date your visa expires.

Thank you!!!

Hi everyone, I’m new here. Hubby and I are expecting our LO at the end of September/October. We intend to have our baby in Houston but don’t know how to go about it in terms of accommodation and affordable hospital.

Oh and my visa expires first week in September. Can I use it anyway? Please advice
