Car TalkRe: Help! My Mechanic Is Driving Me CRAZY by tobiak(m): 10:08pm On Jun 03, 2015
I know for a fact that Gazzuzz has been under the weather for some days. That's by the way, everybody has their own area of specialization. It is not possible to be more knowledgeable in people's area of specialization. If u can't trust Gazzuzz in the first place, it is illogical to even attempt to allow him fix your car for you. In some garages, you cannot even be granted access to the workshop floor talkless of seeing the repair work being effected on your car.
If you had gone ahead to buy the engine, and it had issues and you had to return it 3ce and for each engine installation, you are charged for Labour, you will appreciate things better.

Car TalkRe: Ph. D Research Topic In The Area Of Vehicle Electrical Rewiring For Elect. Eng. by tobiak(m): 8:38am On Apr 29, 2015
We are in the era of drive by wire where most mechanically controlled systems on the car are now electrically controlled. For you to increase the voltage to 42volt, you have two options. From ohms law, V=IR. You either increase the voltage or increase the current, the latter will require very fat wire which does not make sense.
Guitarlife:
Good morn bro, thanks for ur input but I posit that a 42Volts requirement might be a disadvantage.

I mean now that we are moving towards the era of solar powered cars and all, a higher power demand will require more resources which is not desirable.

However am open to any justification to consider raising the power demand.

Regards.
Car TalkRe: Ph. D Research Topic In The Area Of Vehicle Electrical Rewiring For Elect. Eng. by tobiak(m): 12:52am On Apr 29, 2015
You can research on the possibility of adopting a 42volt system in the car instead of the conventional 12volt system. As you are aware the electrical demand of newer car models is on the increase.

Best wishes!

Before you recommend him for a National Award; Y don't u show me where "Bob Boniface" is clearly written on his birth certificate?

Abi na Jelani Aliyu design the Bmw i8?

Wait 1st! Lemme check again whether this wikipedia is telling me the truth.

My interactions with Jelani showed that he is a very brilliant and complete gentleman. I hope he gets a CFR award or even a GCON award from the president soon.
Car TalkRe: What's The Effect Of Short Driving Distance On A Car by tobiak(m): 7:46pm On Dec 29, 2014
I believe the car should be allowed to enter a closed loop before take off. That should be more than 3-5mins in most cases.
EducationRe: HARDEST MATHS Question Ever by tobiak(m): 12:46am On Dec 28, 2014
The diagram shows 2 alternators (with in-built rectifiers and regulators) connected in parallel and charging a battery.
R1 = 0.0035 ohm, R2= 0.0055 ohms and the battery internal resistance
Rint = 0.0024 ohms.
The off-load (i.e. zero current) battery terminal voltage is 12.00V. Each alternators has a maximum output current of 120A. Alternator1 output is regulated to a maximum of 14.40V and Alternator2 to 13.80V.

Note: If the current limit of the alternator would be exceeded at the regulated output voltage, it will simply adjust the output voltage down to the voltage that provides the max rated current i.e. 120A

What would be the value of:

a) I1
b) I2
c) I3
d) the battery terminal voltage?
e) the voltage produced by Alternator1
f) the voltage produced by Alternator2

The multiple misfire must have triggered the knock sensor code.
GAZZUZZ:
OP this is how it works, your plugs were probably never bad in the first place, possibly a rich mixture caused them to fail, the rich mixture was caused by bad 02 sensors. Also you have bad wheel speed sensors.

Now you have serviced injectors (waste of time) replaced plugs (should have just cleaned old ones).

The new plugs will still get dark and fail, CEL will start blinking soon. You will damage your catalyst in in the long run, and I stand corrected but the speed sensors may affect gear shifting and presently your ABS does not work.

Advice: if you can't pay for standard service, don't think the roadside is any better. Replace your O2 sensors and yor wheel speed sensors.

P.s if you can't afford new O2 sensors you can get tokumbor at 5k a piece. Thaose wheel speed sensors cost arround 5-7k for new ones. The knock sensor might not be bad.(Leave it till a re-scan)

Car TalkRe: Maintenance Tips On Cars. by tobiak(m): 10:54pm On Aug 31, 2014
GAZZUZZ: Are you buying a brand new or Tokumbor?

Shocks and wheel bearings tend to wear out around the same time, so its best to replace in pairs.

You also get a better deal when it comes to price when you buy 2 instead of 1.
Shocks absorbers are replaced as a set. You can't buy just one, you buy it as a set. For one to have gone bad, definately the other side would ve been going weak too. It's also a standard procedure to replace the stabilizer linkages which usually go bad with the shock absorbers.
