Google has so many developments, many terms and names that an average internet/smartphone user can hardly keep up with. The one that seems confusing the most has to be that of the ones we come across in the mobile phones. We see some mobile devices with Android One inscribed on the back and we wonder what that could mean. It's not like anyone that buys these devices is part of a fraternity or association but on the other hand, it can be seen that way too.

Android One is an Android programme originally designed for first-time smartphone users in emerging markets but has now moved to the global audience. It was first introduced at Google's I/O developer conference in 2014. According to Wikipedia, Android One is a series of smartphones that run the unmodified Android operating system. It is a hardware and software technical standard created by Google intended to provide a consistent user experience and improved security through frequent updates and Google Play Protect. Being part of Android One brings with it a guarantee that it's a solid and stable version of Android that's not loaded with other apps, services, and bloatware. Android One devices are stock Android phones made by OEM partner manufacturers. What this means is that Android One devices are "Pure Android Phones" running the "unmodified Android O.S" (just the way Google made Android) but produced by other Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) like Nokia, Infinix and the likes rather than Google like with Google Pixel XL.

This one might sound odd, but Android One also offers support for hardware elements of a manufacturer's device. Android devices are so varied in form the Android One programme allows the addition of some hardware features with the software to control them.

In Conclusion, Google is so concerned about the security of its OS. The major disadvantage Android has over other operating system is security. The Android One is just the most secure form of android. It is Android the way Google wants it. The major advantage of Android one is that you get security updates every month and you can upgrade to at least the next 2 versions of android. The software will be secured by Google as the OEM has no right to alter it. It is the purest and to me, the best form of android.

With all the mutual relationship and support from Google to OEM, User's Device and the User himself, it now looks like a fraternity, right?
