Maybe you've just eaten, or finished a meal an hour or so ago — and now your stomach just doesn't "feel right." You feel bloated and uncomfortable. Or maybe it's more of a burning sensation. Maybe you feel queasy, or even throw up. You might say you have an "upset stomach" or indigestion. If there is no known medical cause for your symptoms, your doctor would call it "dyspepsia" or "bad digestion." Indigestion is real. The medical term for persistent upper abdominal pain or discomfort without an identifiable medical cause is functional dyspepsia. The symptoms can come and go at any time, but often eating is the trigger. Sometimes the discomfort begins during the meal; other times, about half an hour later. When your digestive system is running smoothly, you tend not to think about it. Once trouble begins, your gut — like a squeaky wheel — suddenly demands your attention If you suffer from functional dyspepsia, you're not alone. Roughly 25% of the population is affected, and it hits men and women equally. It's responsible for a significant percentage of visits to primary care doctors, in part because many people worry they might have an ulcer. While it's frustrating that the cause of functional dyspepsia is unknown, it's even more frustrating that there is no surefire cure. The good news is that there are simple things you can try to help get some relief: 1. Avoid foods that trigger your symptoms. 2. Eat small portions and don't overeat; try eating smaller, more frequent meals throughout the day, and be sure to chew food slowly and completely. 3. Avoid activities that result in swallowing excess air, such as smoking, eating quickly, chewing gum, and drinking carbonated beverages. 4. Reduce your stress. Try relaxation therapies, cognitive behavioral therapy, or exercise. An aerobic workout 3-5 times per week can help, but don't exercise right after eating. 5. Get enough rest. 6. Don't lie down within two hours of eating. 7. Keep your weight under control. Source: Harvard Medical School Publications

Nairalanders, which of these two sites is your most reliable source of high quality transparent information? Personally I choose nairaland especially because google indexes any post here in a second after you publish it but LindaIkeji is gradually becoming a noisy market place....I sorry for her if she doesn't upgrade soon, cos all those brands are gonna use the blog till they milk it dry! Do you agree with me? |

If you're an aspiring manager in a meritocratic organisation, let me help you on your quest. Having risen from corper to Executive Director and Shareholder, perhaps my observations and insights might be useful to you. See, only 4 types of people ever make it to top management: 1. The Closer 2. The Meticulous 3. The Believer 4. The Rainmaker THE CLOSER: If you've ever watched Suits, Harvey Specter comes to mind. There are some people who just get shit done - no excuses. You give them a job and you can go to sleep knowing the job will be done. You give them young people to mentor and you can be sure they will expect the same exacting performance from them. They are priceless in any organisation and almost always make it to top management. Brilliant people with incredible ideas who lack an eye for detail or the ability to deliver on schedule are a pain and need to be micro-managed. They are rarely put in charge of anything or anyone. But they prosper and get rich within their organisations for their contributions. THE METICULOUS: This group comprises detail oriented mavens, quality controllers and process efficiency experts. They provide the back-end support for excellent organisations and brands. They are invaluable. THE BELIEVER: The Believer is the custodian of an organisation's culture. Believers are the bridge to the next generation and identify completely with a company's values. They protect, shield and promote an organisation. They are its brand ambassadors and internal mentors. THE RAINMAKER: Simply put, rainmakers make money for an organisation. They may be deficient in their jobs but are master networkers and deal makers. They ensure that a steady stream of income flows to an organisation. So, are you CLOSER, METICULOUS, BELIEVER OR RAINMAKER? If you're none of the foregoing, perhaps it's time to consider a career in a politicised organisation where progression is not based on merit. Shared by Subomi Plumptre, CEO Alder Consulting. |

Voke, 23, was born in a sub-standard health facility, almost lost his Mum at birth, attended fairly good basic education schools and struggled to gain an admission into the University to study Biochemistry, though He'd put in for Medicine. He went on, struggled through the University, got sexually abused but fought to stay alive and see his dreams come true. He is now a graduate, with no job but exploring his digital media skills, aiming to employ others and hoping to inspire the world with his African story. This is the story of many Nigerian youths who are faced with numerous problems from their first till last breath. I cry when I think about the seemingly insurmountable challenges the Nigerian youth faces daily and the biggest challenge we face, in my opinion is......http://www.voicesofyouth.org/en/posts/the-biggest-challenge-of-nigerian-youths

timmyblast:I totally agree with you but they can be a source of information e.g when you see a vacancy ad from oando/unilever/ibm on a site like jobberman, it informs you that they are hiring and you will definitely get more info on the company website where you can apply directly. |
Very helpful! thanks |
To avoid getting scammed, apply directly via the company's website. Do not apply via a job board. Using the company's website gives you more information about the company you are applying to. Kindly post any other tips for avoiding job scams below. Thanks |
cliffemmy:Ok. I have made corrections. |
Inner Pages and VPI has come up with an amazing new plan to create 500 tech savvy entrepreneurs in one year! The project is called One Year Of Code! It is a mobile school offering one year of code training for 500 students in 5 secondary schools. A "One Year of Code" Mobile School has 1 vehicle, 25 laptops, and 2 Instructors. It serves 5 secondary schools in a year, training 100 students in each school for a duration of one year. The students will pay a token, not more than N5,000 for the year. During the weekends, the school stops at a community centre to train another set of 50 young people. Training is done for Coding, Web Entrepreneurship, Sound production, Video editing, Graphics, and Business Plan Writing. Annual Training Capacity: 600 students Duration:1 academic year The project is in need of funding for the purchase of 10 Laptops! The popular and prestigious Cheetah Fund has accepted to fund 70% of the program but the remaining 30% must be funded by well meaning individuals like you in order for the remaining 70% funding to come from Cheetah. I'll tell her, Miley more people loved you as that decent Disney girl. Please go back to the good old days, even though Nudity is the new trend, it's not good enough for you. |
Miley Cyrus was born on thursday, November 19th 1992, the same day I was born and we celebrate our birthdays on the same day in different places though (lol) Anyway, what do you think about this 20 year old girl appearing nude in her new video that has broken viewing records worldwide. Is this the best way to make money in the 21st century? Is this ethical? Is it healthy for youngsters today? If you had a minute to give Miley some advice, what would you tell her? |
