I have a little grey area I'll need some help clarification on. @bigfido @ladyay @kayvann or anyone who has applied as self employed, kindly help with this. I have gone through the major parts of the threads (part1-5) but this area still seems unclear. Kindly permit me to itemize my concerns so others can easily go through.

Regarding the proof of self employment i.e written notes/letters from clients, payment from clients etc.
1. How is this supposed to be?
2. Do I contact clients from way back, say 3 years ago to provide these letters?
3. What format should these letters be? Emails from them or typed hard copy letters?
4. How many of these letters from past clients will be sufficient to show that one has over 3 years experience has a freelancer/registered business owner?
5. Kindly provide any other advice or tips as you deem fit.

A very big thanks in advance. May God bless you and help us all. Anticipating a response.

PS: I am a web/mobile developer. Been freelancing since January 2015 then registered my business in January 2017.

I have about 5 domains with them. Two have expired despite thr fact that I've paid for their renewal.

I even try transfering the domains to another host but they need to remove the registrar lock. I cannot get them to do that.

Some guys went to their office in lekki last month but their office is locked and neighbors said they have not been open for 3 weeks.

It's unfortunate.

Their website still seems operational. I hope word gets out to ppl out there before new customers start signing up with them.

Have you been able to recover your domains?

If you can trace LekkiHosts registrar, you could shoot them a mail, call, etc.

Very unfortunate. I already took up the case and sent a complain mail to ICANN. ICANN responded and I sent them details, screenshots and all. They said they'll follow up with the registrar. Lekkihost finally replied my support ticket about 3 days ago, saying they had a management change and bla bla. Renewed one domain the following day and the other one was done yesterday.

Don't know if ICANN contacted them yet or they just came around on their own.

I'll moving my domain names gradually. Can't take chances anymore.

After some bad experiences with some Nigerian web hosting companies, I decided to stick to foreign hosts. I use foreign web hosts for all my personal projects.

I later saw a review of lekkihost.com here on Nairaland and decided to try them out, been using them for small client jobs. It's been lots of ups and downs with them but since I only use them for small jobs, I just keep managing.

But this is becoming alarming. For about two weeks now, they have been unreachable. Not replying emails, not responding to support tickets, not picking up their customer care line (09081177716), switched it off after a while.

I paid for the renewal of two domain names last month which are to expire this month and next. I paid more than a month in advance- August 9. They didn't renew them as they claimed on August 15. Now one of the domains has expired and the other will soon expire. They did NOT renew both of them and have not been responding.

Is anybody facing the same with them? Does anybody know what is happening? How does one explain this to the clients?

I need to move all my domains and websites out ASAP. But they are no longer responding.

Akute is big, it doesn't start and stop at one location. You most likely went inside or after Akute.
