Family › Re: Why I Slapped My Uncle Recently And Became A Bad Person by Tolupage(m): 8:59am On Jan 07 |
Lexzeey: In every family there's these uncles and aunts who knows nothing about you, they don't even know your name sometimes or how you survived into adulthood but feels you owe them allegiance whenever they see you.
first off I know it's an African thing to always respect people older than you, and before you crucify me I am also an adult now with his own adult life, I keep to myself and I don't force people to respect me as respect is earned.
A family member died and we all came back for it, coupled with the holidays, the whole extended family was present including some of those in diaspora, I'm an introvert so I keep to myself, I generally greeted everyone when I came and sat in my corner.
Then there's this useless Cockatoo who drank free beer until his brains froze, first he kept talking about yahoo boys, how they dress a certain way, how they do all sorts to be rich, how they kill people to be rich, they both with soap gotten from herbalist, they don't go to work yet they're living fine, they have cars at a young age etc.
Now when you're talking and you don't call my name trust me I won't answer you. Even if it's obvious you're talking about me, and from all indication this man was talking about me, one my mom is dead, two I earn online and don't physically go to work, third I am not begging I'm doing okay, but I still didn't pay him any mind, then he indirectly started talking about how they don't respect people enough, he was so pained for some reason and condescending.
I just got up and went to a shop outside our family house, as I was buying something this weyrey came, I got what I wanted and turned to leave and that was when I felt it, waaam at my back, this guy slapped me on my back, then he asked me directly, didn't you see me? Don't you know I'm your uncle?
I lost it, and like a reflex I slapped him back hard it was a resounding slap, he staggered backwards, and my cousins held me, before I know it has spread that I just slapped uncle whatever his name is, what's painful is everyone blamed me, for being disrespectful and suddenly it didn't matter what he did, I'm somehow supposed to attone for it.
this man didn't know how I survived till adulthood, not even a penny of his went into my upbringing, I don't know why he felt I owe him respect and allegiance, even if I did, why does he have to go about it that way.
Google image How old is your uncle, I know there are uncles who are 5 years older, some you're probably age mates. If he falls within this category, I'd say your reaction wasn't too bad, but if he's really as old as your parents, then find a way to apologise. Safe bro |

manuelkel: Unarguably, he's got a bad attitude, but something triggers such attitude. Osimhen is hungry and thirst for more, as a center forward it's annoying when your teammates become indecisive when pressuring. Is it a big deal to just pass when necessary? I've watched a lot of his matches, he overreacts when you don't give him what he wants which is the ball. Just give him the ball when you are sidelined by an opponent, he's always there, always in the right angles. Also, have Osimhen ever scold Lookman when he(Lookman) scores?? Infact Osimhen is always the fess to run to his wingers when they score. But just give him the ball when you're sidelined, don't gamble a 1vs1 display when pressuring knowing quite well Osimhen has the space, he's spaced brilliantly, he will also point to you the spaces, don't gamble a 1vs1 display give him the ball. Then if eventually you gamble right and score he will be happy, but if you don't it annoys him because he sees it as a clear miss of chances. I played CF role, it's annoying when your wingers are indecisive and gamble with opportunities like this after the runnings and energy wasted. Same reason Wayne Rooney overreacted at old Trafford . I saw someone who mentioned that teams don't want him because of his attitude, that's a fact lie. A big fat lie!! Attackers have the right to be selfish. You're winning comfortably, you've scored 2, its only normal for others to attempt getting their names on the score sheet, which is totally fine. What is not fine is consistent outbursts like this. Something that VO9 has littered across his playing career for different reasons. Yes, no big team wants players who is always in the media for the wrong reasons more importantly against his own team. VO9 needs to check his ego and temperament |

GanagiBitrus: Much ado about nothing. The outburst was driven by his passion to excel for himself & his country.

Family › Re: Help, How Should I Handle This Family Secret? by Tolupage(m): 11:38am On Dec 26, 2025 |
Kcash200: Hi guys,
I have a problem i have been dealing with since i was 12. I am from a large family and when i was 12, my mum told me my Dad is not my biological father and for me to make it a secret. I did not know what to do with such an information at that age but i knew it was wrong but i couldnt talk so i am not the one who destroys the family. Everyone lives in peace but i always wonder what will happen if only they know the truth. My biological father has other children and some of them know me that i am outside. He was involved in my life financially from 12years as far as i am aware of. He sent me money then and i kept quiet too and also supported me financially a couple of times though we have no personal relationship asides 2-3mins phone calls here and there and it is been like that for years.
I know my biological father and we kept in touch while i was in secondary school. Now that i am an adult now, i feel really sad about the whole thing and sometimes i even cry on my bed. I have been living in secret and a double life and fearing i might be outed one day. Some people in my mother's family are aware which is very strange and i find it shameful as a man now but i did not choose my fate. I have always tried to forget it and just leave my life but it is always just there especially when i think about starting my own family. I am striving hard for it not to define the way i see marriage and life as i am trying to write a different story for myself.
I grew up with my father who is not my biological father and i have been a good son to him as well and still taking care of him but it bothers that my whole life is a lie and it is hard knowing what i know and i can't say anything as that will scatter the family. I met some girls from a very good home who i can marry but i am scared if i tell her or other girls, that her parent will not let me marry her with that secret.
I am scared of getting married publicly as someone can take the news to my biological father as i do not intend to invite him as my biological father but i always feel heavy anytime i think about it. I want to start a new life for myself but i don't know how to handle this. I do not plan to tell my father as he is getting old and this can kill him at his old age as he has been through a lot in life. He is finally enjoying and i am taking care of him very well and he prays for me all the time.
I am building a good life for myself as a professional and have a lot of girls around me but i don't know what to do. Should i keep quiet and tell the girl i marry after marriage ? Isn't that me building my marriage on deceit. It is a shameful thing to talk about if you look at it.
Sometimes, i feel like they caused me trauma putting me in this position but i am an adult now and will bear responsibility for how i live my life and cant continue to blame any trauma or anyone. I am the one who has to keep quiet for peace to reign in the family.
I don't want to wait too long just incase it is a dealbreaker for someone but i also don't want to be disclosing to anyone.
Aside from marriage, i still do not know what to do with that information. Go meet you biological dad and let him know how you feel, tell him you wanna get married and Egypt you acknowledge him you would want your adopted dad to be your father. (Since he's agreed to take the back seat all these years, it shouldn't hurt him to do that once more - be firm in your decision) Meet your mum and tell her same, it's time she own up to her responsibilities and be accountable. Your dad (adopted), I think you should also find time and place to tell him, let him know you're still his son and you intend to always be. I don't think it's a secret to keep from your gf, I don't see it a Biggie if you tell the truth, it's only worse when you keep it a secret. While we don't all come from families with this kinda mess, sane adults know it's outta your control. So pick a side and let everyone fall in line. Start building your own future so you don't repeat your parents mistakes |

The President is the most important part of the Sovereign. It's not your market association President. The highest possible level of security must ALWAYS be around him! Same courtesy just extended to a former President GEJ. Lol. You still don't get it. No one said the president should be exposed. We are saying if the community is safe you don't need bloated convoy. Read that again You keep mentioning GEJ, GEJ was in imminent danger, definitely the country must do it's best to bring him back, something that the Nigerian govt failed to do. Does the president need convoy or escort of 50people to move around Aso Rock? I'd bet NO. That's because the villa is presumed "safe", it still doesn't mean there are no security physically with him, it only means physical escorts are reduced and efforts are made to secure the whole villa. |

Even ex President GEJ was in Guinea Bissau yet there was frantic effort to protect him . Does it mean there are no Nigerians still in Guinea Bissau till now? Of course not! There will still be thousands of Nigerians in Guinea Bissau. No one said take away his security, we are saying it should reduce if there is general safety. In a peaceful society, with no threat internally, there's no need to have a convoy of 50 - 70 vehicles. 10 - 15 is enough and use tech to cover the rest |

Though the parents were struggling financially, they made sure all his needs were met.
An opportunity came then with the Nigerian Government giving scholarship to scholars to school in Russia and this guy was successful as he got a scholarship to study Engineering in Russia .
That was it ,he married a Russian woman and broke communication with his parents and siblings in Nigeria .
The parents were heart broken especially the mum as it made her fall ill and she never recovered from it. She died and the son didn't come to Nigeria for final farewell.
The dad just died and still no show from him. Just got chatting with one of his siblings and he said he is yet to fathom why he acted this way as he was well treated as a kid before he went to Russia.
