ProgrammingRe: What Is Your Favorite IDE [lately]? by Tomingo(m): 4:24pm On May 07, 2012
Seun: I used to love Netbeans because it supported multiple languages and it didn't impose any structure on projects, but since netbeans 7 dropped support for Python, I've been stuck with Netbeans 6.9.2.

I'm trying to pick up Eclipse because it supports most Open Source languages and tools (e.g. git) very well, but I find it to be far less responsive than Netbeans and much less flexible (for example, you can't include source directories outside your project directory)
I agree with you. And yeah even the latest netbeans IDE 7.1 does not support Python Integration. I really like netbeans because of its Visual Mobile Designer tools when working with J2ME
Art, Graphics & VideoMAYA Autodesk 2012 Service Pack Bugs by Tomingo(op): 2:52pm On May 07, 2012
Tried to make a model in Maya 2011 but everytime I use image planes, after a while Maya crashes. Only solution was to use polygon planes and apply my reference images to them. However this way I can't have perspective viewport in shaded mode and front/side viewports in wireframe mode at the same time(had to animate the default material's Transparency in order to be able to actually see my images behind the model).

Installed Maya 2012 to see if this issue got fixed but I came across another bug which is even more weird. If I use the "Insert Edge Loop" tool to any primitive shape, the tool works perfectly. If I start manipulating my mesh(trying to make a female character), whenever I try to use the Insert Edge Loop tool, the new edge loop doesn't follow my cursor. It remains exactly where I started clicking but if I let go of my mouse button, the edge loop will appear exactly where my cursor was when I released the button.

Has anyone encountered this issue yet?

Edit: Just realised that this problem occurs only when I use Image Planes in my viewports.. Otherwise Insert Edge Loop tool works fine and follows the cursor along the mesh's surface.
ProgrammingJavame SDK, Netbeans IDE, SVG Tiny Problems by Tomingo(op): 2:38pm On May 07, 2012
Hi guys,
I have been working with adobe illustrator and Inkscape(open source) to produce scalable vector graphics (SVG tiny 1.2, JSR 226) for J2ME 3.05 mobile apps interface with netbeans IDE integration. The problem here is i get XML errors ('saying file is not compatible) anytime I try to open the SVG.xml file in the Src Package through the visual mobile Designer. Is there any unique way of embedding or importing this XML files to my source code without error?
