My DIY route experience....Festac Office
After being charged 50k by an agent and it would take six weeks to be ready due to the new policy according to him, i decided to go the DIY way...

1. Payment online of 26k (25k+1k charges fee)using the saana pay option on immigration portal.
2. Download payment receipt, Acknowledgement receipt, guarantors form and application page.
3. Certificate of Origin from my state liason office cost 3k with one passport attached.
4. Took my already filled guarantors form to a magistrate court for stamp and seal. Cost 1k.
5. Guarantors passport photograph just 1 was requested.
6. Original Birth certificate.

On getting to the immigration office i proceeded to servicom met an officer who assisted to arrange my documents in the following manner using servicom file i observed that it is quite different from other white files i do not know why tho ( please do go with originals as they will request to sight it and ensure you have no conflicting details such as name, DOB as it will cause you more delay):-

3 copies of payment slip, Application page, 2 passport photography (applicant), 1 copy of guarantors passport photo attached to the guarantors form, Datapage of guarantors passport, NIN slip photocopy (applicant) Nin slip of guarantor not requested. He arranged all in the file and entered the details In a register, and took me to another area where an officer vetted the documents, stamped behind the last document in the file and directed me to another officer who entered my details in another register. Afterwards i was directed to another officer who checked again,entered details in her own register , gave me a slip and asked me to come for capturing the next day.

I must say the officers are kind contrary to what i have read about them. None of them asked for bribe and the whole process was fast and easy. On getting to the NIS gate a lot of touts came and started telling me testimonies of their in house link and why i should patronise them but i didn't pay attention to any.

Day 2 ..... Capturing

I arrived the passport office at about 9am, we were asked to stay in the waiting hall (special candidates and DIY) and people were been called as soon as their payment has been confirmed with all needed vetting and stamping. I was eventually called for capturing around 12:40pm we proceeded to the capturing area (strictly no mobile phones allowed) and capturing was concluded around 1:25... After capture i was given a number and asked to come for collection in about 4 weeks time.

All the officers are approachable and willing to guide and assist.

DO NOT WASTE MONEY.. ALWAYS GO THE DIY WAYYY.. It is time consuming but worth it i must add.

My Application is for a fresh passport. No, you can't process at a different center other than the one you selected during application.

I thought one can use national id card instead of certificate of origin

22nd June... But it appears you can visit as soon as you can.

I called the Osun State liaison office in Lagos today and I was told 10k to get it.

i later did it at the liason office ikeja GRA for 3k didn't take 10mins

As regards the certificate if origin/residence, can i visit any local government and get it ? The man i met at the local government has charging me 5k for it is that fair price ?

Tell one of your friends to snap/scan the data page of his/her Passport and passport photograph. Then, you print at a cyber cafe (50 or 100 Naira) and photo studio (400 Naira for five copies). I used my friend as well who was in Lag while I in Ilorin, and it is what I did.

bro is the notarized stamp same as the one used for court affidavit ?
