Nigeria Police Force on Friday, dismissed allegations of forgery, alteration, falsification, and unlawful production of a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate levelled against the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, describing the claims as baseless. Speaking on the matter, the Force Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, said the police found no evidence to support the allegations after conducting a thorough investigation. According to him, the investigation established that there was no proof of forgery, alteration, falsification, or unlawful production of the minister’s NYSC certificate. “After an exhaustive investigation into the allegations, it has been established that there is no evidence whatsoever of forgery, alteration, falsification or unlawful production of the minister’s NYSC certificate,” Hundeyin said. He explained that the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) was contacted during the investigation and confirmed that the certificate in question was duly issued to the minister. “The NYSC was contacted and it was verified that the certificate was duly issued by the corps to the minister. The allegations are therefore unfounded,” he added. The development comes a day after youth and civil society groups staged a protest in Abuja over the alleged certificate forgery involving the minister. The demonstrators accused Tunji-Ojo of providing conflicting information regarding his NYSC records, which they said raised concerns about integrity in public office. Addressing journalists during the protest, one of the demonstrators said the minister had yet to publicly respond to the allegations. “We have not heard from him. He has not come out to clarify to the public whether what is being said is right or wrong,” the protester said. The protesters also argued that in similar circumstances, some public officials had resigned from office when faced with such allegations, insisting that accountability should apply equally to all public office holders. “We want accountability, and we want everyone to be treated equally. What is good for one person should be good for all. If other ministers could resign over similar issues, we do not see why he should still remain in office,” the protester added. They warned that failure to properly address such allegations could erode public trust in government institutions, particularly among young Nigerians, and undermine the credibility of public offices at the federal level. Humans are same in everyone country, why is it hard for them to renew their visas stay |
Tunji-Ojo makes things happen. He can only do more. |
In turn journalist should protect the national image. |
I think investigation should be carried with suspicions and dubious Chinese nationals. Their dealings has no direct connection with HM interior. |
There are a few names that have caught our attention. Among them is the Minister of Interior, who is described as one of the shining lights of this administration, under whose leadership the Renewed Hope Agenda has found full domiciliation in the Ministry of Interior. He is said to be the reason many Nigerians, both at home and abroad, have had their hope rekindled and their belief in the Nigerian government restored. When people see good work, they acknowledge that he is putting in the effort, and they observe how his initiatives are translating into better and more efficient systems. This, in turn, makes citizens more hopeful about governance and public service delivery. https://youtu.be/QnVhB7pmw8s?si=pZWhB-48EB4A7_EP |

The inaugural BTTV CSR outing at LEA Primary School Apo has delivered a powerful message of hope and opportunity to pupils in Abuja. BTTV, also known as Blue Tile TV, took its first major corporate social responsibility step with a visit to LEA Primary School. The initiative was designed as a day of impact, focused on giving back and investing in the future of pupils. The BTTV team engaged directly with pupils, encouraging them to believe in themselves and strive to become better versions of who they are today. The atmosphere was lively and interactive, with students responding enthusiastically to the team’s presence. As part of the outreach, essential learning materials were donated to support classroom activities and enhance academic performance. The gesture was welcomed by both pupils and staff, who described it as timely and impactful. Representatives of BTTV emphasised that education remains a powerful tool for change. By equipping children with basic learning materials and words of encouragement, the organisation said it aims to contribute meaningfully to community development. The outing marked the beginning of what BTTV describes as a sustained commitment to social impact projects across schools and communities. Following the successful event, viewers were invited to guess which school the team will visit next. The move has sparked engagement online, as followers anticipate the next stop in BTTV’s CSR journey. With its inaugural outreach completed, BTTV has set the tone for a series of community-focused initiatives aimed at empowering young Nigerians through education. Primate Elijah Ayodele, founder and head of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Oke-Afa, Lagos, has inaugurated a mosque he personally built and named after President Bola Tinubu’s late mother, Abibatu Mogaji. The inauguration ceremony took place on Saturday during Ayodele’s annual thanksgiving event at Oke-Afa in Lagos. The event drew dignitaries from religious, traditional, political, and entertainment circles, including Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, Tinubu’s first daughter, who sent delegates in her absence, and Agbu Kefas, governor of Taraba State, who was represented by his special adviser on Islamic matters. Speaking at the event, Ayodele described the project as a “direct divine instruction” he could not ignore, noting that the mosque is simply a house of worship for God, akin to churches, and that he has no personal interest in its operations. He handed it over to a Muslim cleric present at the event. “Building this mosque isn’t because I want attention or anything from anyone; it was a divine instruction that I cannot ignore,” he said. “I am only answerable to God, so whatever anyone says doesn’t matter to me as long as God is pleased with me.” On the naming choice, Ayodele said he initially planned a different name, Folawuyo Mosque, but changed it following what he described as “divine direction.” He dismissed perceptions of political motives or criticism of his past stance on the APC and Tinubu, insisting the act was not for favours or appointments. Muslim clerics at the event praised the gesture as a powerful symbol of interfaith unity. An Islamic cleric, who opened with Christian hymns, quoted Proverbs 3:3 to commend Ayodele, saying it showed “we are one” and promising reciprocity. The representative of the Chief Imam of Ikorodu Division described Ayodele as a true prophet sent by God, likening his name Elijah to the Quranic figure, and urged Nigerians to avoid religious conflicts in favour of unity. https://chronicle.ng/presidency-el-rufai-thallium-kaduna-probe/ |
The Presidency on Sunday dismissed former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai’s recent correspondence to the National Security Adviser (NSA) regarding the alleged procurement of thallium sulphate as a calculated attempt to stir political tension and divert attention from corruption allegations levelled against him in Kaduna State. Specifically, it referenced the Kaduna State House of Assembly’s reported unanimous endorsement of a petition to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), seeking an investigation into alleged financial improprieties amounting to N432 billion during his tenure. It added that the anti-graft agencies had since invited the former governor for questioning. Reacting to El-Rufai’s inquiry letter to the NSA, Nuhu Ribadu, the Presidency said the former governor was spreading misinformation capable of generating fear and unrest while seeking to cast himself as a victim of persecution. In a post on his verified X handle, @TheTope_Ajayi, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Temitope Ajayi, maintained that there was no government procurement or importation of thallium sulphate into Nigeria through the Office of the National Security Adviser. Ajayi further alleged that El-Rufai had already received an official response from the NSA’s office but deliberately withheld it from the public. “Mallam El-Rufai certainly got a reply to his letter from the NSA’s office, and he should be honourable enough to release it just as he mischievously released his own letter,” the statement read. According to the Presidency, the former governor’s actions were driven by two principal motives: to create political instability through what it described as deliberate misinformation and to shift public focus from the corruption allegations he faces in Kaduna State. The statement argued that El-Rufai was attempting to “nationalise his personal challenges” with the Kaduna State Government, insisting that the controversy was neither about Bola Tinubu nor the National Security Adviser, but about the former governor’s waning political influence in the state after eight years in office. Questioning his political standing, the Presidency claimed El-Rufai had lost the support of key stakeholders in Kaduna, including political allies, and had fallen out with his successor, Uba Sani, whom he previously backed. The Presidency urged El-Rufai to desist from what it described as political theatrics and instead address the allegations against him through appropriate legal and institutional channels. https://chronicle.ng/presidency-el-rufai-thallium-kaduna-probe/ |
