Kobojunkie: Democracy has never been handed anyone simply on grounds that he or she pays taxes. Even people living under dictatorial arrangements equally pay taxes. If you know this, why did you bring up entitlement mentality? People are working and cannot even feed properly or save, this wasn’t the case 4/8 years ago. So why can’t she demand more from her govt? |

Sublimesuccess: Hmmm
That was when my father bought a brand new car for less than #4000. So the annual salary of the president then would buy almost 13 of such cars. Imagine selling that car for 8 million naira in our own time and a modern day president can afford to buy 13 such cars with his BASIC SALARY of 104 million naira. There was corruption then as well.
Even the cover price of the newspaper should tell you something. That newspaper cost 15k then, now it is #300. If you divide #50000 by 15k, it's the same result you get by dividing #100 million by #300, the current price of the newspaper, and I don't even think the official salary of the modern day president is up to #100 million. For the president nowadays to buy the same number of newspapers the annual salary of the president then could buy, he must earn #100 million annually. Let's be relative with the way we think.
Likewise I saw people thinking that the man selling roasted corn in London had struck gold by selling one for £1. Converting the money into naira is a fairy tale. A bottle of coke there is about £2. Imagine selling one cob of corn for £1 and buying a bottle of coke for £2! It's like garbage in, garbage out.
Based on the values copied from Wikipedia below,in 1979, $1=60k, therefore #50,000 then in 1979=$83333. Let's convert the $83333 back to naira in 2024 when $1=#1235 based on the table, $83333=#103 million. So #50000 then and #103 million today are equal!!! Cutting it down further, #5 in 1979 and #10000 today have the same purchasing strength. Na statistics we go chop? Did he sell only one corn 🌽? Or does it mean he has to drink 100 coke because he sold 100corn? You stats are garbage! He needs to sell 2 roasted corn to buy one coke bottle as he doesn’t need more than a bottle a day, mind you he still has over 50 roasted corn to sell in one day (same day)! That’s profit in relation to your 2:1 as he doesn’t need more than a bottle of coke a day |

Foreign Affairs › Re: Russia-Ukraine War: World News, Weapons & Battlefield Discussions - Live by Tonididdyx: 8:23pm On Jun 27, 2024 |
obedience4: the truth is most of them supports Russia not base on ideology, ethical beliefs, family ties principles or religion affiliation, they support Russia because of "hate" they hate the "West'.
that's why sometimes I wonder how can you support Russia and also support a country like Iran, both are two distinct countries with different ideologies. RUSSIA may be bent on multipolar world, Iran dose not care about that, all they do is bring to destruction the Jewish state and in extension the USA
they claim hate the USA because they bully Nations, you support Russia that's ok, but you also support a certain China, who practically is the bully in Chief in Asia, they have build military installations in artificial islands over Asia, they keep violating countries territorial integrity by sailing ship's in countries territories
there is no ideology about them, as long as a nation is anti America, they jump to the nation.
you support Russia base on personal experience with a Russian native that's fine, That's a good reason, I have never had any personal relations with a Russian before, who knows a simple relationship can change your entire dispensation. Wiser words have never being Said….you see through them indeed Their hypocrisy is of the west, their skins black and their alliance is to Putin Nothing else defines CONFUSION best! |

Pfff….an empty barrel makes the loudest noise indeed. I dislike when self proclaimed “woke” persons cannot hold a simple mature debate without settling for anger, insults and frustration instead. It simply shows you’re empty….nor be to sit down for politics thread from page 1 to 2000 Can you hold an argument that will span Page’s that others will enjoy to read. Spell Russia incorrectly and some of you will cry more than the bereaved. Meanwhile hunger is ravaging your country from all cardinal points. I find it stupid that anyone who has never had a personal experience with Russia or Russians, Americans or America, Ukraine or Ukrainians will take personal others comments on here It’s pure stupidity! |

jjj37: Truly you think from your anus.. What more can i say? If i have my way, there would be IQ test/analysis before allowing some kind folks to comment on this forum.. hear him, What's my reason for supporting Russia??
If you ask for a reason to support Russia then you lack common sense and some form of modern education.. sorry, this thread isn't all for riff raff as most have attempt to turn it to., lots of us, are here as a follow up to our knowledge we've aquired over time on world politics and history, to also lend a voice and be part of a greater awakening that will soon sweep the world to a great reset. You may be here to argue sheepishly, write unlimited statements from morning till night, claim what you've never done but i tell you my friend never blush your silly clownish face on issues you don't have understanding of.. You said you've travelled a little, should i ask.. Where you shipped? Inside a box, wrapped on nylon via cargoes.. i ask this this cos you lack the intellectual exposure to comment of issues such as this judging from your reasoning prowess so far. Typical nairaland comment…bounce here and there without saying anything meaningful If your next comment is not to tell me why you support Russia, pls don’t bother wasting both our times on matters that are beyond U You want contribute what? What have you contributed to your nation Nigeria? Clown 🤡 |
