Jobs/VacanciesRe: He Applied For A Job Without NYSC Discharge Certificate by toolpusher(m): 1:35pm On Jun 18, 2015
I suggest you go to the venue. International Oil Companies like Schlumberger, Total, Chevron etc will allow you write without the discharge or exemption certificate but you will be disqualified during the interview if you pass the test. They will keep your test records for up to 2 years during which you don't have to write again but just progress to interview once your documents are complete.
Go and write it, I know folks who have written and passed such test with just Recommendation Letter from HOD when final degree result was not even ready. They sometimes see you as being proactive which is an added advantage. Go for it! Put your faith to work! Remember it's a risk for not taking a risk and also a risk for taking a risk.

RomanceRe: My Boyfriend Said Am Not A Wife Material, Plus Our Chat Pics by toolpusher(m): 9:24am On Feb 24, 2015
ClassicB here is what I think:
1). You are seeking attention on Nairaland, you want your post to trend and generate many comment. Because someone whose mind is excellent wouldn't even upload those pictures and even take time to edit it to hide some details. If you have enough discretion and wisdom to hide those details I believe you should also have enough to submit and humble yourself to do house chores.

2). You are one spoiled and lazy girl who doesn't know how to do any house chores. You don't do it at home and so you don't see any need to ever do it anywhere. Charity begins at home. Maybe you have people who do it for you so you never bothered. That isn't much of your fault but since you are an adult you should learn.

3). Your mindset is very deluded. Doing house chores for your fiance NEVER relegates you to a housewife or housemaid. Everywhere in the world, ladies do some house chores and men also. A wife is a help-meet, you ought to help him do some work at home.

4). You should be very grateful to God your boyfriend told you now. Some men won't even tell you, you will be told when you receive his wedding invitation. Then you would brand him a 'beast' for leaving you. Your boyfriend is a very nice man, he is matured.

5). Lastly, your ability to organize his house and life better than him gives him a good indication that you could make a good family. My advice to you, gradually start doing some of the chores that you can, because if you don't do it he will surely find someone else who will. Nature abhors vacuum. There are many girls who will gladly "spend the night" with him just like you do and clean the house like one 'Ekaette'. Be guided!

Christianity EtcRe: Nothing Wrong With Alcohol, Cigarette – Pastor Chris Oyakhilome? <<Rumor?>> by toolpusher(m): 1:35pm On Dec 02, 2012
Emmysteve: The founder and senior pastor of Christ Embassy, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome on Sunday told all who cared to listen that since the Bible does not expressly condemn both Cigarette and Alcohol, then there is nothing wrong with these stuffs.

It all started when a viewer of his television programme wrote in to enquire from the popular pastor if it was wrong for a 'Christian to work in a Cigarette company'.

Below is the response from Pastor Chris:
There is nothing wrong with Cigarette, the Bible doesn’t say anything was wrong with it... I know a lot of people do complain about it because of the relationship attached to it with some sicknesses like cancer...but if they really believe it is wrong why not ban it totally.

It is the same thing when you have Christians working in the Breweries. The Bible doesn’t condemn alcohol. The only reference made to alcohol in the Bible is ‘do not take too much of wine’. So you see these things has to do with the individual state...if they are convince something is not good they should just ban it..."

What do you think about the Pastor’s position? Share your thoughts.
