Nigeria has the second largest FDI in Ghana? Fat lie! Where is your evidence? By the way, Ghana attracts the largest FDI in west Africa, more than nigeria.

Obamaofusa:

Igbos cannot grow an economy with their kind of petty businesses. The reason why their 5 states where we have the highest population of Igbos in the world, have combined IGRs below only Ogun state. There are a lot of Yorubas in Ghana helping them to grow their economy through Real Estate and the financial establishments.Nigeria has the second largest FDI in Ghana.

What happens in Ghana stays in Ghana. Busybody!

theghnews:
They say “friendship is nothing until you can forgive the unforgivable”.

But, will you be able to forgive your best friend if you find out he has been cheating on you by sleeping with your little sister?

This is the very friend who has availed himself to fully sponsor your wedding. In fact, he has even paid one third of the amount you need to organise your big day; and you eventually find out he’s bonking your sister.

Well, this is the case of Kwesi [not his real name], who feels betrayed because his best friend is funding his marriage but hiding behind him to sleep with kid sister who is only 17.

Sharing his ordeal on ‘Ghanaian Traditional Marriage’, a wedding planning platform on Facebook, Kwesi narrated that, his best friend whom he financially assisted to raise a business some years back, has offered to sponsor his marriage.

According to him, he agreed to accept his friend’s offer, knowing he [Kwesi] helped him sometime ago without taking it back.

However, Kwesi says he recently chanced upon a Whatsapp communication between his sister and his friend, where he got to know that it was actually her sister who convinced his friend to fund the marriage, without knowing he was bonking his 17-year-old kid sis.

“I just chanced on some chats between him and my little sister recently. Unknown to me she’s the one who convinced him to give me the money and in exchange he’s sleeping with her. She’s just 17 yrs old!!”, portions of his story revealed.

According to Kwesi, his friend has already paid GHC12,500 in support of his marriage and invitations have already been sent out but he is planning of canceling the event since the current happenings were against his conscience.

“I told my fiancee and she says my sister is old enough to decide for herself. I want to cancel the marriage and my family is saying no because plans are too advanced and the wedding is just in a few weeks. It’s against my conscience to do this”, his position stated.

Kwesi therefore needs help as to whether or not his stance on the happenings make real sense.

“Am I the only one who doesn’t understand why this should make sense?”, he quizzed. Read more @ https://theghnews.com/2020/09/05/my-best-friend-is-sleeping-with-my-sister-just-to-fund-my-marriage-man-cries/

Ghana enjoys 24/7 electricity. Yes, occasionally we have outages. Once in a while we may have issues with supply of fuel, but those are often addressed quickly. The last time Ghana had a major power crisis was about five years ago, and that was the major reason former President Mahama lost the 2016 presidential election.

My light at home has not blinked in over a month. I guess that isn’t 24/7 supply of electricity, huh? You Nigerians are pathetic. Instead of owning up to the disgraceful fact that 60 years after independence, nigeria can not provide ordinary electricity to its citizens, you are here trying to put sand into our eyes.

Your light in Abuja has not blinked in one week? Fat lie. I listened to your electricity officials talk on radio and tv. They said the highest hours of electricity anyone can get in Nigeria was 20 hours. Other places were getting lesser number of hours of electricity. If Nigeria produces electricity for one week without a single outage, I can bet my last pesewa, that parties will be organized to celebrate that. grin

you are not the only one that had lived in both countries, so talking crap. I did not only live in your country, I even had house there. If I start telling you what I know about your country, you will just open your mouth! angry

Electricity, education and tourism are the ONLY areas? Let me give you more. Inflation in Ghana is lower than nigeria. Nigeria’s GDP has dropped from $400 billion to $250 billion grin Ghana’s economy is growing at 2% while Nigeria is in recession.

What is life expectancy in Nigeria, compared with a Ghana? What is the poverty level in Ghana, compared with Nigeria? grin Do you know Ghana attracts more FDI than any other country in west Africa, including Nigeria? grin what is the level of corruption in Ghana, compared with Nigeria? grin

Can you sleep with your two eyes closed in Nigeria?

By the way, since Nigeria is “better” than Ghana, why are you people arriving in Ghana in their thousands every day? Even with the border closed, Nigerians are still sneaking into Ghana grin

stagger:

Ghana does not enjoy 24 hours electricity, though I must say it is very very constant and it is widespread. Where my house is in Abuja, light has not blinked in 2 weeks, but this is not widespread across Nigeria.

Electricity, education and tourism are the only 3 areas Ghana has advanced beyond Nigeria. Everything else (infrastructure, political arena, corruption, etc) is just the same in the two countries. Coming from someone who has actually lived in both countries enough to make a comparison.

Nigerians are big-time hypocrites! Nigeria, today, has laws in their country, restricting some aspects of its economy to only it’s citizens. Check the entire gamut of existing laws in Nigeria and tell me if there are no laws restricting foreigners from participating in some areas of the nigerian economy. So what happens to those Nigeria laws. On top of that, Nigeria closed its borders! What kind of stupidity is that?

Trade impasse: Ghana not at fault – Nigeria’s Speaker
By
Starrfmonline -
September 4, 2020

The Speaker of the Nigerian House of Representatives says the Nigerian delegation he led to Ghana for a two-day fact-finding mission has concluded that Ghana is not at fault in the trade impasse with his country.

Addressing President Akufo-Addo and senior members of his administration including the Speaker of Ghana’s Parliament, Professor Aaron Mike Ocquye, Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila said “the issue at hand is basically a misconception and misinformation,” which he and his delegation had come to understand of the situation during their visit.

“The people, perhaps, the media on both sides as well… As to what exactly is going on in Ghana as far as Nigerians are concerned, we have taken time to educate our people here about those misconceptions. We deliberated and resolved that whatever needs to be done on both sides, to make sure that this relationship remains the relationship it used to be and still is, we will do.”

Nigerian foreign minister

The Foreign Affairs Minister of Nigeria, Geoffrey Onyeama, on the 17th of August 2020 made an announcement in a tweet, as he expressed his government’s displeasure with a video that went viral showing the closure of some shops that allegedly belong to Nigerian traders in Ghana. In his tweet, Foreign Minister Onyeama said, “Nigerian government has watched with dismay the painful videos of the forceful closure of the shops of Nigerian traders in Ghana”.

Urgent steps will be taken.

The visit of the Speaker of the House of Representatives in Nigeria to Ghana to meet with the Speaker of Ghana’s Parliament, and subsequently the President of the Republic, can be seen as a legislative diplomatic attempt to arrest the unfortunate rhetoric of the Nigerian diplomat.

Request for Legislation Review

Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila, in his statement to President Akufo-Addo, said he has suggested to the Parliamentary leadership of Ghana to reconsider the legislation that imposes a huge surcharge on foreigners who intend to trade in Ghana.

“We have appealed to Parliament that if it is possible at all, and it is an appeal if it is possible at all to please look again at the issues as far as the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre Act is concerned, then they should please do so. If it is not possible, then let us look at ways where the pain can be a little bit reduced, or the difficulties in meeting those expectations espoused in the law can be reduced,” Speaker Gbajabiamila noted.

“We have proffered suggestions which we are working on, one of which is, as he did mention, was the establishment of a Ghana, Nigeria Business Council backed by legislation on both sides,” the Nigerian Speaker of the House of Representatives addressed.

President Akufo-Addo

Addressing the Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila-led delegation, President Akufo-Addo, said he was really taken aback and alarmed by the statement of the federal Minister for Information of Nigeria.

“I was alarmed when I read the statement. If these are really the attitudes and sentiments of the federal government of Nigeria, then we were in a really serious problem,” President Akufo-Addo said.

Anytime I read comments like this, I don't know whether to cry or to laugh grin And when I call Nigerians ediots someone will say I am insulting nigerians grin grin grin what are airports? airports are simply places for planes to land and for passengers and goods to be processed in transit. Functionality is what defines an airport. if the facilities work and planes can land and take off safely, the purpose of an airport has been fulfilled.

Nigeria is a very useless country with useless fools grin donald trump described is a shiithole and I agree grin grin

middle class, which middle class? 95 percent of nigerians live on less than $2 a day grin nigeria is a shambolic poverty capital of the world. while Ghana is offering its children free education, free meals , free uniforms grin, 15 million nigerian children are out of school, grin grin grin grin see how shitnigeria is breeding future terrorists, pr0stitutes, yahoo yahoo, kidnappers grin grin while Ghana is busy preparing its children for a good future, shitnigeria is grooming its children for a life of crime, violence poverty and misery grin grin grin grin grin

shameless nigerian, go look for your mates like somalia, sudan etc grin naija is not even fit to lick Ghana's azz grin grin grin

[s]
Rosskii:

The Nigerian middle class number 60 million, which is around three times the population of Ghana.

Ghana is a very poor country. You have only one modern airport in the entire country, in Accra.

Here is Kumasi airport, your 2nd biggest/best etc:

I mean, it's a goat shed.

Here is your 3rd airport, Takoradi ''international''' airport.

Again, disgraceful. It's like somebody's house.

Nigeria is not your level bro. These types of airport were done away with in Nigeria back in the early 1980s.

talking like......... grin igbo boy grin can you give me any official nigerian statement in September 2020 that says Ghana owes Nigeria for gas supplied to Ghana? stop peddling crap! Ghana does not owe nigeria shishi.

don't go bring any stupid stale news from 2010. bring any certified news report in August or SEptember 2020 that says Ghana owes nigeria money for gas.

Most times the gas from nigeria does not flow sef. the truth is that Ghana does not even need that gas from nigeria. Ghana has enough gas, more than 400 million standard cubic feet of gas daily from its own oil and gas fields. you can go and find out grin Ghana does not need the gas from nigeria, but Ghana is forced to buy the gas because it is a long-term contract, and the contract stipulates that Ghana pays for the gas whether it takes the gas or not. never mind, we can afford to throw some small change at our little brother nigeria, to help reduce the level of poverty in that zoo grin

Ghana makes $30 billion from nigerian students? ole! $30 billion grin if they sell the whole nigeria will it reach $30 billion?

chai naija. I love the way buhari is treating you mudder fuugerz. una mouths go kill una.

[s]
onyechez:

How is the guy good? He went to beg Ghanaian government, The response from the Ghanaian government isn't promising. He did not do his homework.
Ghanaian government claims Nigeria supplies 25% of gas to their power plants in other to provide electricity for their citizens.
Ghanaian government has been defaulting on payment of gas supplies over the past, out of $180 million dollars owed by Ghana ($10 million dollars paid, imagine that) has Nigeria government stop the flow?
Ghanaian government makes huge revenue worth $30 billions dollars from Nigerian students who enroll in their universities.
Huge fees of non citizens ID cards from non citizens which is extortion, have you seen some one who pay for visas, plus residents permit in Europe and asked to pay for non citizen ID card?
Nigerian government has supported their economy from the time of kufour to rawlings millions of dollars for aid yet they treat and harass Nigerian citizens.
Nigerian embassy building was destroyed recently but the Nigerian government did nothing, it let it pass.
Question : what has Nigeria as a country benefit from ghana as a country.
Gbajabiamila, is a coward. You don't go to beg a country to change it's laws or reform it, it would be seen as you are undermining their sovereignty as a country, such countries wouldn't respect you, you only do that when such countries contribute to the huge growth of your country not a country that's a leech.
That's why I like trump, he protects the interests of USA, not like other cowards. Trump doesn't share the same views with NATO not to talk of China or some idiotic countries.

RUBBISH grin how many Ghanaian traders in nigeria do you know? grin every country has a right to make its own laws. Go and make your laws and drive every Ghanaian out of your zoo. That is your problem.

[s]
olujastro:

Finally you decided to make sense this time.

One thing is clear, that such a law is very selfish. Another clear fact is that this law is only enforced against Nigerians, for obvious reasons that only Nigerians outdo, outsmart and out-compete Ghanaian traders in their own country. I have never heard of traders of any other nationality being harassed in Ghana.

Though Nigeria is a country that is very open to all and sundry, I expect the Nigerian government to create a similar law making any form of trading in Nigeria nearly impossible for Ghanaians only.

One of the Ghanaian Uber drivers that drove me kept complaining about how messed up life in Ghana is. He kept referring to Accra as "I cry". cheesy

Nigerians are in Ghana for just two reasons: to do business where there is far less competition...and to attend universities where there is far less competition for admission too.

talking to you is a complete waste of my time, to be honest grin grin grin sebi buhari has increased fuel prices, increased food prices in short prices are going through the roof in your country. instead of sitting down with your fellow countrymen and women to find solutions to your many many many problems in that shiithole, you are busy talking nonsense grin grin grin grin talking to you is a complete waste of my precious time grin grin grin grin

by the way, I live in my country Ghana. And I am proud to inform you that I have been enjoying free water and electricity for the past six months. My government is paying for it. even your sufferhead countrymen in Ghana are also enjoying it. Ghanaian children go to school for free and are fed by the government grin why won't I be proud to call myself a Ghanaian? grin grin tell me what you enjoy in nigeria as a citizen of that country? I will help you. poverty is number one. grin grin grin 2. kidnappings grin grin grin 3. bad government 4. no electricity 5. dumb and docile citizenry grin grin grin

how many Ghanaians still live in that shiithole? I understand they are not more than 500,000 Ghanaians in nigeria, according to our high commission, and already our government is making contingency plans to evacuate them in case grin

there are currently 7 million nigerians in Ghana, and the number is ballooning all the time.

nigerians are sneaking into Ghana even at a time the borders are closed grin grin grin desperados grin sufferheads grin grin one million more nigerians are waiting for the borders to open so they can run to Ghana grin grin grin grin oh dear oh dear grin grin grin

my brother you get sense! You will live long. I wish all nigerians get sense like you grin grin grin

I don't know whether it is poverty or what, but most nigerians are just not smart. I see what they write here and I am like...what the fvck.

Let me explain. Nigeria's problem is not Ghana or Ghanaians. It is called self preservation. every country is doing what it needs to do to survive grin. that is the global trend. every country, from US to China, to Ghana. so, instead of fighting with Ghana over rights for your citizens in Ghana, fight with your own government to make life better for you at home. That is the crux of the matter.

nigeria even started this nonsense by closing its borders to neighbouring countries. when neighbouring countries complained, nigeria said it was doing so to protect is economy. what kind of rubbish is that? Its only nigeria that knows how to protects its citizens and its economy, other countries don't know how to protect its economy and its citizens.

the whole thing is very annoying to me as a Ghanaian. you closed your border, and turned round to tell me to allow your citizens to trade freely in my country! what stupidity is that? even you nigerians have laws that reserve some aspects of your economy to only Nigerians. but being very hypocritical people, nigerians prefer to shout Ghana Ghana and not talk about their own.

laiperi:
Unfortunately, you are right.

Nigerians should not have been in this situation in the first place. You do not compete with your hosts by displacing them from unskilled labor locals live on.

On top of our arrogance and chest beating thinking we can live on past grandeur.

I do not blame Ghanaians but based on our past and what we have in common like NKRUMA, this time will pass and we will look back at our foolishness.

Nigerians grow up. You see your life!

While I agree Nigeria is not the best of Nations but sincerely Ghana should never be compare with Nigeria.A country as small as Ghana should not be as mess as Ghana is today.it's easy to be in Nigeria and think Ghana is doing well, but go there and see.
