New PayTV operator, Telecom Satellite Television, TSTV, weekend, disclosed that it would commence commercial roll-out of its decoders to Nigeria by November 1, 2017. Addressing newsmen in Abuja, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the company, Mr. Bright Echefu, said the company would from Monday, deploy about 5,000 decoders to customers for free, and would also be installed for the customers to enable them test the reception, services and claims of the company. He explained that the delay in the commercial deployment of decoders to customers was to prevent sabotage by unscrupulous elements who would want to frustrate the company. He said, “We have not commenced commercial sales of our decoders because we are aware of the fact that we are running a business easily frustrated by competition. “We had applications from over 3,000 individuals who want to be our dealers, so far we have cleared about 750 of the dealers. We are currently conducting due diligence checks on our dealers. We do not want a situation where individuals posing as dealers buy up our decoders and go dump them somewhere.” He said within the next two weeks, the verification and full accreditation of dealers would be completed and the decoders would be rolled out. http://www.naijaolofofo.com/tstv-to-commence-commercial-sales-of-decoders-november-1st/

Dear Hushpuppi, I’m an admirer. Of your pictures. I don’t envy you. I think I would love to meet you in person – and disappear. Maybe, that’s why I admire your tenacity to ‘pepper’ the haters and ‘humble’ them, but since they ‘humbled’ the kidnapper Evans, I have been thinking about you. I didn’t say you are a kidnapper. Far from that. I am just worried about you. Let’s take a spirituality class. There is something called Wheel of Samsara in Hinduism. It rotates. It moves. It never stays in one place. It is like a table, which always turns. And within all of us, there is what we call willpower and the Cruel Mind. It’s okay if you say I am saying rubbish, but let us watch between now and August and see what happens. What we want will always come to us, if we focus on them. You have defeated poverty, but you spend a lot of energy dragging poverty along with you. You feel bad leaving poverty. You feel vengeful. You feel you need to retaliate. That is why you have chosen to oppress us, most of us who may never really enjoy the kind of life that you are enjoying. Money is addictive; it is also an illusion. Everyone needs an addiction, everyone needs it. When we have it, it is like a magnet, it attracts everyone. You know when you hold a magnet, it attracts everything that it can attract. It grabs them, hold them. That’s what you have done. I doubt there is any mind that has any positive vibes for you any more. We are tormented by your showcase of wealth. We may not say it, but we are not happy. A very famous musician, William Onyeabor was laid to rest recently. Mr Onyeabor, before his death, dissociated himself from the proceeds of his music. He said he had made the music with finances and money from a Russian mafia and syndicate. He died a Born Again, but he didn’t leave the house he built with that money. He died under the roof of that house. The precious thing that Mr Onyeabor gave us is his music. I am sure you know one of his songs, ‘When the Going is Smooth and Good’? Let me share some of the lyrics of that song with you here, quickly: When The Going Is Smooth And Good Many, Many People Will Be Your Friend Oh, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah! When The Going Is Smooth And Good Many, Many People Will Be Your Friend But When The Going Becomes Tough Many Of Your Friends Will Run Away Dear Hushpuppi, I love that you have really worked smart and escaped poverty. I can tell you that poverty is a terrible thing. When you are poor, nobody wants to be your friend. If people are honest with themselves, we only want to enjoy with the rich, like you, even if it’s just a pie of your happiness. You are really living well, based on statistics from social media. The pictures are so colourful, but I for once, I don’t envy you. I know why and I will tell you. Most of the victims of Chukwudi Dumeme “Evans” Onwuamadike are Igbo people. You know, they say the richest men in Nigeria are on the covers of Forbes magazine. I tell them, “No.” If you want to find the richest men in Nigeria, take a walk to Alaba, Balogun, Yaba, Onitsha markets and you will find them. I have briefly done business with these men. They are very secretive with their wealth. They do not like attention. Those of us who seek for attention for the penny we have, are not wise and because we are mostly attention whores, we seek for attention with anything. Also, what doubles it is that some of us who seek attention and validation from the populace come from poor homes. When a poor man begins to see little wealth, it gets into his head. I like that you want to ‘humble’ people, but there is no competition in the pursuit of wealth. Wealth will come and go. We all know that and you sef, will get bored of ‘humbling’ people some day and you will be ‘humbled.’ But, please, shine! It’s your turn to shine. Dear Hushpuppi, I know you don’t print money, so I want to assume that you have a glowing business that brings in lots of money. Hopefully, just like William Onyeabor left his music behind for us to enjoy, you will learn to leave a legacy behind; something that the next generations will talk about. It won’t augur well if your story turns out to be something similar to Evans’. That won’t be nice. So, be nice to us. Torment us with pictures. I look forward to reading captions that have your name on it. I actually genuinely admire the fact that you can have such freedom and expressively show your wealth to the public and don’t expect any reprisal of any sort. If I had your kind of money, I would be scared showing it online, because I am certain that my phones will ring ceaselessly: those I owe money and those who need money will call and make requests. I don’t know how you handle this. Also, I admire how you spend that sort of money in clubs with ‘friends.’ Your friends, I must say, are terrible people. They never show that they are proud of you. If I were you, when I am with you in the club, I would post pictures and even tell the world that you are the Reigning King and that everyone should fear you. Your ‘Champagne Friends’ wouldn’t do that, because the day you are going down, they are not going down with you. They are here for the drinks and the little cash. They are going to say sweet things to you, but you are going to carry your cross alone. Just because like you, I am an attention LovePeddler, I will end this letter now and hope to meet you someday. Hugs, Onyeka Nwelue http://www.naijaolofofo.com/must-read-open-letter-to-the-malaysian-based-nigerian-big-boy-hushpuppi/

Big Brother Naija First Runner up, Bisola Aiyeola’s Baby Daddy has denied ever abandoning her on the altar. He says they’ve never been to the altar, adding that their relationship just didn’t work out due to personal differences. Olanrewaju Malcolm who is an artiste manager and a showbiz promoter admits he’s the father of Bisola’s child, Leyla. In is words with Sunday Scoop, Malcolm said: “It is a big fat lie that I dumped Bisola at the altar; there was nothing like that. In fact, I’m still looking for the person who wrote that story online because it is malicious. We split because we had some personality traits that could not complement each other and there was never any marriage.” Expressing his opinion of her conduct while in the house, Malcolm said, “I think she was able to go there, represent herself well and also showcase her talent. She was lively and full of fun while in the house and I guess that’s what viewers want.” On if he had ever harbored thoughts that Bisola would one day participate in a reality show of that nature, he said, “I have always known her as a very talented person and she always goes for what she wants. In fact, she had been in reality shows before Big Brother.” Speaking about Bisola’s closeness to Tony while in the house, he said, “She is a grown woman and whatever she did on the show is her business.” He also said that their daughter, Leyla hasn’t really said much about the show, but “naturally, she’s happy that her mother won.” Responding to a question on whether they would still get back together, Malcolm said “Everything still remains the same. It doesn’t mean that because she was successful at Big Brother Naija, we are coming back together. There was a reason for our break up, which is personality differences, and those differences are still there.” SOURCE: http://www.naijaolofofo.com/bisolas-baby-daddy-speaks-bisolas-conduct-bbnaija-house/

Alleged Apostle Suleman’s ex lover, Stephanie Otobo reacts to her mum’s apology. The light skinned lady who is already in Canada claimed that her mum was threatened into speaking against her. This comes following the release of a video which shows her mother, popularly called Mama Tope, publicly begging Suleman, founder and General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministry, to forgive her daughter for lying. Stephanie, who insists she had an affair with the pastor also claims that her mother told her she was arrested and forced to give the public apology. Recall that Mama Tope had told reporters that she has not seen her daughter in the last three years, and stated that, ”she is not normal” Following her mother’s confession, Stephanie, who arrived in Canada over the weekend, claimed her mother had been arrested twice and was forced to say what she told the public. ”Hi everyone I just landed in the airport now in Toronto. I’m still on my way home. I’m on a taxi. And I heard my mother made a video or a statement so I called her and she told me she was threatened. That she has been arrested two times and they threatened her. This is what Apostle Suleman is doing, using his power. He should come to court. I will make a better video next time but i just want Nigerians to know my mother was arrested. http://www.naijaolofofo.com/mother-apologize-apostle-suleman-stephanie-otobo/

No doubt that the strike embarked on by the Academic Staff Union of Universities(ASUU) has been a nationalistic fight to finish, it came at a loss to the country. This is as voted by students, the top 5 losers of the ASUU strike: 1. Students- Aside being academically dormant for over 5months, thus raising the fear of mass failure during exams expected to be rushed within the months of January to February next year, while some have lost their lives or dignity indulging in one criminal activity or another, others are growing lean wondering how to tackle their house rents at school, that have most likely expired, with the academic year uncompleted. The strike will also delay these current finalists from making the February/March NYSC batch, pushing them to June and November. 2. Campus Businesses- Even here at Abia State University, the standard of living of the canteen operators have dropped. So also have times become rough for the motorcycle riders, photocopy shops, photographers, other businesses and even churches on campus. 3. Lecturers- Most of them were financially stranded by september when their nursery, primary and secondary school children had to return to school with no money for fees, uniform and books, owing to no salary and no proceeds from sale of textbooks and handouts. 4. Federal Government- The ultimatum that didn’t work showed how weak the FG is and set a bad precedent for other unions to follow. 5. President Goodluck Jonathan- This charade was bad for his political ambition of vying for second term, as well as for his political party PDP presidentially. The top 5 gainers however were: 1. Newspapers- Most newspapers especially those online enjoyed an influx of new customers reading updates on ASUU strike. 2. Vice Chancellors- They sat and watch ASUU struggle to make huge sums available to them to improve their various varsities. Some of these funds will be diverted for personal use of course. 3. Facebook- There was an increase in the use of facebook by Nigerian Public University students this period. 4. Lecturers- They are to be paid for not working, not being stresses, and shall enjoy earned allowances most of them probably lost hope of getting, or didn’t know they were entitled to earn. 5. Hostel/Lodge Landlords- They will earn payment for emergency periods of learning. The quest to retain one’s room for the rest of the semester or session ie. January to whenever, might force some to pay for a year they may not complete in that lodge. Going through the above, it is clear that the strike had more negative consequences than positive. Economically, Nigeria was at loss for this strike. SOURCE: http://www.naijaolofofo.com/ASUU-strike-top-5-losers-gainers/ |

Our attention has been drawn to the false and persistent claim by members of HKN Music that young music producer – Joshua Boafo a.k.a JOSHBeatz, is signed to HKN. Contrary to this, We wish to clarify that ‘JoshBeatz’ is officially signed on to Born Winners Empire (BWE) as in-house producer. All contractual obligations on the part of Born Winners Empire have been fulfilled till date. JoshBeatz is expected to produce a Mixtape under BWE. At the time of this incidence he was in d studio working on a new single for QUEST and also our newest signed artist – BAZINO. Be it also known that as at this moment JoshBeatz is still living in BWE premises in Lekki. The first news of this mischief broke on twitter on 21st Nov, when Davido via his @iamdavido handle tweeted “Welcome @joshbeatz to the family!!!! Hkn gang!! NEWEST MEMBER!!!! Congrats!!” This came as an embarrassment and sad surprise to us because Davido is well aware that JoshBeatz is on a valid contract with BWE, he and his crew have visited our Lekki office / studios a few times when JoshBeatz recorded him on a track for the JoshBeatz mixtape. We have utmost respect for Davido and HKN, and we contacted them to verify the situation, but they said it was just a random casual tweet by Davido and they have no interest in signing the young producer. Yet we continued to observe a manipulative and deceitful under-the table approach to woo our artist/producer. HKN further went ahead last week to release recorded materials produced by JoshBeatz whom they tagged ‘HKN newly signed producer”. Music business is Serious business, and there are rules to the trade. We must put a stop to this hell-destined ‘Hustle and Blow’ mentality and observe mutual respect as music business professionals. In an industry that is constantly faced with flagrant disregard and abuse of contractual commitment, it is disappointing that even well established record labels will now manipulate and conspire with Artistes to breach contracts. Its a shame indeed. In view of the above, the management of BWE finds JoshBeatz’s disloyalty and embarrassment totally unacceptable, and has opted to Terminate his (JoshBeatz) contract forthwith. We are not asking for any damages, and we do not wish to be drawn into controversies with anyone. Thank you.. Signed, For: Born Winners Empire (BWE). The British High Commission in Nigeria on Wednesday announced a new visa regime application whereby applicants for United Kingdom visa would be paying online in U.S. dollars. In a statement signed by its Press and Public Affairs Officer, Mr. Rob Fitzpatrick, the commission said that the new system would begin on December 16. “From December 16 2013 all applications for a UK visa must be completed using our online application system and paid for online in US dollars. Payment can be made using Verve debit card, Visa or MasterCard credit or debit cards or the e-wallet PAGA. “The move to online application and payments will deliver a streamlined application process and is consistent with a wider global trend to online transactions and payments. “It meets the requirements of the UK Government’s Digital by Default initiative and will help cut costs in the management of the visas operation, which in turn helps to keep visa fees down,” it added. PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan will meet the leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities on Monday (today), apparently with a view to resolve the Federal Government-ASUU face-off that has left varsity gates shut since July 1. But the union said it had got wind of Presidency’s plan to direct that universities be reopened, saying such directive without amicable resolution of the current strike would deepen the crisis. Chairman of ASUU, University of Uyo chapter, Dr. Nwachukwu Anyim, said this in a statement in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, on Sunday, saying that the union leaders were invited by the President. Anyim said the invitation by Jonathan should ordinarily inspired hopes that the four-month-old strike by the lectures would soon end but that the union needed to be cautious in its optimism. His statement read, “We are aware that President Jonathan intends to meet with the leadership of ASUU tomorrow, Monday, November 4, 2013, in a bid to address the deadlock in the ongoing strike by the members of the union. “Ordinarily, the invitation by the President to the union would give the impression that the resolution of the strike was on the horizon. While we appreciate the present show of concern from the high office of the Presidency, we are, however, cautious in our optimism that the meeting between the President of the country and the union would yield desired results. “The apparent lack of enthusiasm among our members concerning the outcome of the meeting is based on government’s lack of commitment towards the implementation of the 2009 FGN/ASUU Agreement and the memorandum signed with ASUU. While we hope that the Federal Government would see reason to finally resolve the issues in contention, we urge well -meaning Nigerians and stakeholders to persuade government to implement the agreement with the union in order to save Nigeria’s public universities.” It added, “We have received information that President Jonathan intends to direct that universities should be re-opened immediately. As a branch, we do not think that such a directive would resolve the issues at stake. Rather, such a directive would deepen the prevailing crisis. A show of force by the president could only, at best, result in a “pyrrhic victory.” “We stand on the existing agreement between the union and the Federal Government. The MoU between government and ASUU and also the NEEDS Assessment Report should provide the road map for the resolution of the ongoing strike by ASUU.” http://www.naijaolofofo.com/ASUU-strikejonathan-meets-ASUU-today-union-warns-force/ |
The United States Consul-General, Mr. Jeffery Hawkins, on Thursday, gave reasons why Nigeria was excluded from the 2015 Diversity-Visa-Programme registration. Hawkins told journalists at the U.S. Consulate General in Lagos, that Nigeria was among other countries that had in the last five years, sent more than 50,000 immigrants to the country through the programme. “As at today, Nigerians have graduated from being under-represented to being a fully well represented group in the U.S. “There is therefore no longer any need to encourage Nigerians to apply to travel to the U.S. through the Diversity-Visa-Programme. “Already there are too many Nigerians in the U.S. that have benefited from this programme,’’ he said. The envoy explained that the diversity visa was created to promote countries with low rates of immigration to the U.S. Hawkins said that Nigeria and other affected countries had already exceeded their quota in the last five years. He, however, stressed that the U.S. authorities would continue to give preference to Nigerians travelling to U.S for visits, business transactions, studies and professional engagements. “All other types of immigration from Nigeria to the U.S, apart from the diversity visa, would continue unabated. “Also, let me say that the ban has nothing to do with our relations with Nigeria now, and in the years ahead,’’ the News Agency of Nigeria quoted the envoy as saying to journalists. He also dismissed insinuations making the rounds that the move was to reduce the number of Nigerians travelling to the U.S. The U.S official also said that the development had “nothing to do with insecurity, activities of Boko Haram and other forms of upheaval in Nigeria.” It would be recalled that the U.S. Department of State, banned Nigeria, Bangladesh, Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador and Haiti from participating in the 2015 Diversity-Visa-Programme. Other affected countries are: India, Jamaica, Mexico, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, South Korea, United Kingdom and Vietnam. http://www.naijaolofofo.com/nigeria-excluded-2015-dv-lottery-u-s-envoy/ |
THE negotiations among the Senate, the Federal government and the leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU over the ongoing industrial action embarked by universities lecturers ended without parties reaching any compromise. The meeting which was at the instance of the chairman, Senate Committee on Education, Senator Uche Chukwumerije, PDP Abia North, was called to pacify the striking lecturers with a bid to finding a common ground. However, a source at the meeting revealed that all efforts to push for a call off of the strike proved abortive as members of ASUU stood their grounds. The source also said that for well over seven hours, Chukwumerije was literarily on his kneels pleading with the lecturers to consider the plights of the students and call off the strike, but ASUU members refused to shift ground. The meeting had in attendance, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, Minister of Education, Professor Ruquayyatu Rufai; Executive Secretary, National Universities Commission, NUC, Professor Julius Okojie and members of the Senate Committee on Education, among others. From all indications, first winner of the popular annual reality show, MTN Project Fame, Inyanya, would be older than sensational pop star, Wizkid, but the former has disclosed that he got inspired by the latter to keep his head high in the music industry and achieved the success he has today. Wizkid gained fame with his 'Holla At Ur Boy' song, which introduced him to the consciousness of many people. Soon after, he became a household name and started headlining big shows in and outside the country. For Iyanya, just when many thought he would become a household name in Nigeria after he won the maiden edition of the MTN sponsored music talent show, the Calabar-born singer struggled for few years until luck smiled at him and he burst into fame with his hit track 'Kukere'. Speaking recently on a TV show, the singer disclosed that Wizkid inspired him in the music industry. He explained that when he thought of giving up because of the cold reception for his RnB single entitled 'True Love,' which he released after winning the competition, the success Wizkid's 'Holla At Ur Boy' made and the subsequent singles released by the 23-year-old made him to say to himself that if Wizkid could do it, he could, which gave rise to his 'Kukere' hit track. http://www.naijaolofofo.com/inyanya-wizkid-inspired-me/

The anointed man of God, senior prophet TB Joshua gave words to the world, words of advice, prophecies, and amendment to the world… The title of the message/ note was – Carry The Youth Along —– (I’m seeing a revolution(protest)(I’m seeing people treking to the street)) Every revolution starts with a protest, eventually it will become so big it cannot be stopped, God has given us the way out Job creation – for the youth and the creation of a new social value system – this is because 90% of youths believe that it is by becoming political thugs they can be successful … Especially because those in the political offices do not want to retire in politics and become statesmen…… The YOUTHs feel: ‘No matter the level of education they have, they feel they have no place in politics and there nothing to keep them busy,’ There must be a new orientation…. In politics the youths should be considered for important positions such as assistant to the elders, while elders are ministers, the youth should be junior ministers, In every department of government or politics, the youth should be junior assistant to the head of such department… The chairman of a political party could be an elder while a youth should be a junior chairman under him as his second in command.. In all appointment into department of politics and administration, youths should be considered second in command…. By doing dis we are training them to take over 2mao… This is because they are leaders of 2mao… This is a msg to the whole world, not only to your country, This is because revolution is a weapon of change that, This is the vision I say: ‘Revolution is coming when people will take to the streets’.. Life has no value anymore TO the people…. It has started some where….. Any nation that will start it now will avert the coming revolution…. Carry your youths along in your administration, especially in rulling your country None of this words will go without coming to pass…. Read on me and see my history with prophecies.. MTN sent a message to me and it goes like this; “Yello Surprise! Activate Blackberry monthly or weekly service and get 20% discount instantly. Offer valid till July 17th”. -This is just a bonanza that will expire by July 17th 2013. it means that you can now activate BBC one month plan for #800 instead of #1000. Very soon, we will get another text “That you can now activate BIS for N200” I was just wondering what telecommunication will become by the year 2014, Because I don’t really know what MTN Nigeria is up to; but I still stick to my dream that Blackberry Internet Subscription will still become N100 for a complete month. Earlier this year, MTN and Etisalat reduced their Blackberry subscription price to#1,000 and #1,500 respectively. http://www.naijaolofofo.com/mtn-bis-bbc-now-n800-from-now-till-17th-july-2013/

Like every other Nollywood actress, Shan George has had her fair share of scandals. Shan George has been accused of going into marriage and coming out of it over three times, dating younger men and decorating her body with countless tattoos. What’s true and what’s not? In this interview, the half caste actress shares her painful story with Showtime Celebrity. This is Shan George beyond the scandals. On her challenges One major challenge I have always faced as an actress has to do with not being at home all the time and playing roles in movies that are opposed to my character. Let’s assume you were born in a Christian home and you imbibe what you were taught from when you were a kid. All of a sudden, because of your profession, you are called to be a Buddhist or a mermaid. You are talking about being something you have never experienced. I have never seen a mermaid or transformed into a mermaid before, but I’ve acted as one. You have to try and figure out how they talk, walk, smile and so on. Another challenge is when you go to the extent of interpreting whatever role you’re given to play in movies. People who watch the movie tend to associate you with that character. I’ll never forget an experience I had at Alade market, in Lagos, a few years ago. I went there to buy some things like every other person, but suddenly, some people started throwing rotten tomatoes at me. Many others were calling me unprintable names; a loose woman, husband snatcher. All because I played such roles in movies. I’m not like that in real life. I remember I acted a prostitute in the movie, Outcast. After the film was released into the market, I got a call from a guy based in Italy who told me that he just watched the movie, and he thought I was really hot. He said he would want to enjoy such a gesture like the guys in the movies any time he storms Nigeria. There are so many other challenges. You are seen playing roles where you are really rich with several big cars and houses at your disposal. People assume you’re like that in real life, but it’s not always true. Everywhere you go, people expect you to settle ‘agberos’ and drop something, but it doesn’t work like that. That is the reason some practitioners tend to spend money they don’t have just to meet the expectations of their fans. Her Scandals It is really crazy. A lot of these things are not true. For example, I have two grown up sons. Anytime people see me pose for shots with younger men, they conclude that as old as I am, I like young boys and that’s not true at all. It is very depressing sometimes. You need the grace of God to hear things about yourself that are not true and still be strong and get going. How scandals affect her It happened many years ago when I was still a toddler in the industry. I remember driving some years back and I saw vendors selling a particular magazine with my photograph and a caption that read: “Even Pastors love my boobs.” That day was so sad for me. I couldn’t even believe that I was the one they were writing about. On the multiple marriage scandals There was a time someone called to congratulate me on my new marriage. I was shocked. My first marriage was when I was 16, and I don’t count that because I was a child and I had no say in the matter. The ideal thing is that as an adult, you meet someone you like and you get married to him. What happens most times is that I act a movie where I get married, the pictures go viral online and everyone says I am married again. And I am amazed because I wonder, people who read this, don’t they calculate the years? I married once and my two kids are for my first husband. I read on some blogs that I had a child out of wedlock and I have been hiding it. But I wonder if I got married at the age of 16, at what age did I have that child? I was so young when I walked out of my first marriage to pursue my education. Later on, as an adult, I got married again, but we aren’t really together anymore. Marriage can be complicated. Current relationship status I have someone who is very nice and important to me. So, I guess you can call that a romantic relationship. I have always known this guy and he has been there for me. Tattoos Tattoos are a way for me to express myself. People wear clothes, fix their hair or nails; but for me, I love tattoos, that’s who I am. I have just two permanent tattoos, but sometimes I wear artificial tattoos depending on my mood. http://www.naijaolofofo.com/shan-george-opens-up-talks-about-her-sex-and-prostitution-scandals/

The Nigeria Football Federation has placed indefinite suspensions on four clubs after two scandalous results of 79-0 and 67-0 in a promotion play-off. In promotion play-offs into the Nigeria Nationwide League, the lowest tier of Nigeria’s domestic league, on Monday, Plateau United Feeders beat Akurba FC 79-0, while Police Machine FC demolished Babayaro FC 67-0. The incredible results forced the NFF to suspend the teams. All the teams were involved in promotion play-offs in which the winners would qualify to play in Nigeria Nationwide League Division 3. Before this, Ghanaian clubs had the record of such scandalous goals but they didn’t score more than 25 goals. Chairman of the NFF organising committee, Mike Umeh, who is also NFF First Vice President, said he was alarmed when informed and promptly directed that the four teams at the centre of the scandal be grounded, pending further sanctions on all involved. “It is unacceptable. This is a scandal of huge proportions. The four teams involved are suspended immediately and indefinitely, pending further sanctions. We will investigate this matter thoroughly and get to the bottom of it,” Umeh said on Tuesday. NFF director of competitions, Mohammed Sanusi, assured that the organising committee would mete out severe sanctions on all persons and institutions indicted by the investigation. http://www.naijaolofofo.com/nff-suspends-four-clubs-following-79-0-67-0-results/

Tonto Charity Dikeh has become a force to reckon with in the Nigerian movie industry, Nollywood. The actress and singer from Rivers State is of the Ikwerre tribe. Born June 9, 1985, Dikeh competed against other contestants on a reality TV show called The Next Movie Star where she was the first runner-up. ANTHONY ADA ABRAHAM writes about the many controversies of the sultry actress and why she should take it easy for a blossomed career. Nollywood, is second only to the Indian film industry in number of movies produced each year and it has produced world class stars like Omotola Jalade Ekehinde, Genevieve Nnaji, Olu Jacobs, Pete Edochie, the late Sam Loco Efe, Nkem Owoh and many others. Her Rise: Dikeh says that after her second movie ‘Holy Cross’, more movie directors and producers were willing to cast her, and she has appeared in scores of movies ever since. The actress has received criticism on many a movie she starred in making her a hot cake for producers who want her to be part of their movies due to her logic in script interpretation. The enchanting young actress still have a lot in store for her and she could achieve whatever she want to achieve in the industry. Nollywood is just a step in the right direction to become a world renowned. She has the charisma, physics, face and other attributes anyone could think of to become a star. But the crazy incidents of late is not telling good of her image. It could be a strategy to be hyped by the media, but controversies easily kills a celebrity image. Music: After enjoying acting several movies, she decided to try her hand in music though she once featured in Patience Ozokwo’s album when she was becoming known in the industry, her slight tilt to music suggests it could be a disaster like her counterparts Genevieve Nnaji who later found out it wasn’t her calling. But it wasn’t so as she already carved a niche for herself with songs like ‘Hi’ ‘Jeje’ and many others receiving applause from fans. In addition, she was rumoured to be dating Solidstar, one of 2face protege and with collaboration on the 5th single titled ‘Sheba’ featuring SolidStar, she looks determined to take her musical career seriously as she teams up with ace producer Popiti to create Sheba that best expresses her poppy music direction. Tonto Dikeh as she is fondly called took a role in the movie ‘Dirty Secret’ which has continued to generate controversy amongst Nigerians, because of the unclad and er*tic scenes. While some criticize her role of being untraditional and un-African, others say that she’s merely being professional. Her Weed Post: Though of late, people have continued to talk about her flaws, and her own kind of leisure, it was all over the social media that the sultry actress and musician might be in a lot of trouble after officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency was reported to have said she could face up to 15 years in jail for taking pictures of banned substances and encouraging their consumption. This is also to inform everyone to watch what they put up on social media, especially when you are a celebrity. Dikeh had reportedly post photographs of a wrap of hemp and grains of the weed formed into the letters, ‘Happy birthday POKO.’ She also posted a photograph of herself and added the inscription, ‘Mi smoke ganja mi smoke weed while my hatez smoke ma gossip.’ Her picture is a close-up of her face that seemed to depict her in a high state. According to the report, NDLEA spokesman, Mr Mitchell Ofoyeju, said the matter would be investigated stressing that the matter had been referred to the appropriate department of the agency, “Our attention has been drawn to the post quite frankly and I can tell you that action will be taken on it. “The law is clear and NDLEA has been very clear on the issue. No one is permitted to sell, use, cultivate or encourage the use of Indian hemp in Nigeria. The weed is one of the banned narcotics in the country. “NDLEA Act Section 14 (b) states that any person who conspires with, aids, abets, counsels, attempts to commit or is an accessory to any act or offence referred to in this act shall be guilty of an offence under this act and liable on conviction to be sentenced to imprisonment for a term not less than 15 years and not exceeding 25 years. “Investigation has not started as of now but definitely, a step has to be taken on the matter. Ignorance of the law is not an excuse; so, it is obvious that the actress stands the risk of 15 years jail term. The appropriate department is meeting on the issue for necessary action.” Her fall: After an embarrassing fall, coupled with an odd performance at Iyanya’s Kukere concert in London, Tonto Dikeh comes on to explain how it happened. She also tries to clear the air about the fact that she may have been ‘drunk’ or ‘ high’ or both before hitting the stage. In an interview with Nollywood Movies, Tonto explains that her dress was the chief culprit followed by her shoes and then the ‘slippery’ floor. “It was a big…well not a big fall and I managed it well. I fell because I had this very long dress, and this very high shoe and a slippery ground, and because I wasn’t supposed to dance at my first ‘coming out’. I had another outfit I could put on to really perform if I wanted to; it was my choice but I just came on and they played the song and I just had to dance and I slipped. I made it fun really, I got up and danced, I didn’t want to disappoint anybody especially myself. When I went back stage, I was dancing my head off. I couldn’t go back on stage because Iyanya was on stage,’ she explained. Charity: In January 2011 Tonto Dikeh took part in a charity fashion show in Lagos with Banky W, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde and others. This was a way of showing how passionate she was about charitable work. She is currently working on several movies. The believe is she should keep the fire burning and not allow her personal life and controversies destroy her hard earned reputation. http://www.naijaolofofo.com/actress-and-singer-tonto-dikeh-and-her-so-many-controversies/
