Hello All,

I submitted the FLR extension for my hubby. just want to ask, is there a way to track or check your status.

Hi Sis... The birth certificate my hubby had was church birth cert. But he was advised to go to high court to get one..he did an affidavit
babyisUS:
Wow! Am so happy for you. Congratulations!
I am also going for my Biometrics on Monday! I put in Nov 18 as date I want to travel. Am so apprehensive if they would refuse my visa because of how close the date is. But reading your testimony now, am quite relieved. I am applying for an EEA family permit. And my hubby should be in the country this weekend to see me and also to accompany me to the TLS. I have been wondering what sort of questions they ask during the interview, ...now am reading in ypur post that they don't hold interviews for now? Wow! I hope I get to be told the same thing. Wish me luck sis. I can't wait to finally go join my hubby in UK.

Pls can you help with the documents u submitted? Also his birth certificate, is it the one from the hospital or National Population, that he submitted?
Thanks sis.

Hi Ports,

The affidavit and police report is not compulsory...my husband was told to do it because he did not have the original copy of the checklist, only had the photocopy...so they wanted to be sure that it's official

And yes he was told to leave the country within 30days, before 27th November...

Finally, yes o, I'm so much happy...he's been given 3years visa
Portsmouth86:
Do you get told you need to leave the country by a specific date?

Do you think i should get hubby to get an affidavit and Police check too? (applying in a week or two)

congratulations to you both, you must be jumping about on a high hehe smiley

Hi portsmouth,

1. Do you get told you need to leave the country by a specific date?
Yes on my hubby passport, he was told to leave before 27th November (within 30 days)

2. Do you think i should get hubby to get an affidavit and Police check too? (applying in a week or two)
It is not compulsory, my husband has only got the copy of the checklist, but because they needed an original, and not the copy, that was the reason he was told to go and do all those stuff, e.g. affidavit, and police report...it's not compulsory
My husband was told at the TLS to get the police report just to declare it officially

Wow! Wow!! Wow!!! VISA GRANTED...IN LESS THAN A MONTH (maybe because when they asked in the form when you wish to travel, and I put October, maybe thats y it was quick)... NO interview for him and I (was told that it was because they are not doing interviews for settlement at the moment, but for student visa people) ...All the glory unto the Lord God Almighty!!!
I think the VAF reference number shows that you have a visa, cos that is what is on my husband's passport.

I don't even know where to start but to firstly thank God Almighty, and to thank the people God has used via this channel.
Here is my Timeline:
I submitted the online Application 1st week in September..I used a Lawyer, paid him 800quid, but trust me he did nothing, only wrote a letter, and the letter was filled with vocabs and spelling errors. I used this lawyer cos my dad insisted. I didn't wanna disobey him, so I took that as a sacrifice.
Even after I sent the letter to my hubby in Nigeria, we had to make lots, and I mean lots of corrections, even on the Financial req form and bio form, we had to print them out again to amend it...it was the biggest mistake of my life, but like I said, it's a sacrifice...800quid gone for nothing.

Submitted online on the 1st week in September.
We booked appointment for 18th September
However when my husband got to the TLS, they told him that his name was not there. I had to call the lawyer insulting him, and asking him why he wouldn't know all these stuffs. The TLS boss told my husband to give him the username and password that the lawyer used, the lawyer was saying he can't give him, I was really pissed (But I want to let you guys know that in all things, always give thanks...assuming he did an interview on that day with someone and was refused - I had to accept my fate).. To cut the long story short, he was told to book for another appointment, we booked for 21st September,Monday
He went to do his biometric, submitted his bio form, the financial req form, passport, and tb. They asked for his birth cert, he said he didn't know he was meant to bring it. They told him to send it with the supporting docs to me and for me (who's based in UK) to send it to Sheffield.

After all these stuff, he gave my aunt the document cos she was coming to UK the following week. I received the documents on the 25th September.
I sent the doc to sheffield the next day 26th September, Saturday, to UKBA (Not the vulcan house), and it was received and signed cos I used special delivery.
I went online, searched for the address again, and I was seeing different address...I was confused and grew some grey hair cos of sthe stress (lol). I kept calling the embassy, they kept charging me, but I was not bothered.
At the end of the day, I sent a letter (using special delivery) telling them my situation that I sent my doc and I have not received any confirmation. I received an email that they've received the documents...I was still confused cos I wanted to be sure because I sent my docs in 2 envelopes cos of the weight of documents, so I wanted to know if they got the 2 envelopes. At the end of the day, I was satisfied my documents were received (bearing in mind that it was after lots of hassles and problem from me, and God's help)
I was so confident cos I got my docs complete, and I am not a fraudster, and my relationship is genuine)
In a nutshell, I got an email to send a prepaid envelope for them to send my documents back (up till now, they've not sent it)
Just last week WED (Oct21), I got an email that a decision has been made (on Tuesday)
I was expecting another email saying the passport is ready for collection, but no avail, it's been a week now.
My husband, who is in Nigeria told me that maybe he should go to lagos and he might receive a call from TLS, and I said ok. He got to lagos today and decided to go to this TLS IKEJA, wanted to know if they've received his passport (cos there was no call or email). To my greatest surprise and his, they told him that his passport is ready for collection (na wa o).
They told him to give them the checklist they gave him when he did his biometric, but that is with me...So they said he should go and do an affidavit and get a police report before they can give him his passport. He ran to do it, and now he's gotten his passport with visa stamped to live the country before Nov 27....PRAISE THE LORD!!!!!!!!

My advise to people...don't use a lawyer...follow this thread, pray, have faith.
My processing took just less than a month.
I swear down I'm happy that all these things are over.
I am using this opportunity to pray for those who are waiting, I pray that you will hear good news in Jesus name, Amen.

MY HUSBAND IS HAPPY AS WELL AND I WILL TRY TO BOOK HIS TICKET VERY SOON.......God bless!!!

Hi Oreskid,

This people are crazy in a way...can you believe I got the same email you sent days ago about tracking your status of application? Hmm, although that's after I sent a query. Then I reckon it's in a queue, and lets hope for the best...We're more or less in the same scenario, difference is you sent your documents earlier than mine (you sent yours on the 15th, and I sent mine on the 26th) ..Yours is 'it is WAITING to be assessed by an ECO', mine is 'It is YET to be assessed by an ECO'.. I reckon it will be on the queue, but you've got a high chance

Oreskid:
@ ToyinNick, thanks so much, yes I'm waiting until the end of the month before taking any action or process. I will keep u posted if any update or anything comes up. Cheers

You're lucky that they said that 'it's waiting to be assessed'...for me, I got nothing.

Don't worry about this. Even if you call them, they MIGHT say the same thing (you can try it though). I would advise you to be patient, wait till end of the month, if you don't receive anything then, hola me up. Don't stress yourself and don't give up on prayers...All is well...!

03001232241, choose option 2, and you can send your query by clicking on this link https://ukvi-international.faq-help.com/

I did not get any email to say that my documents were received. I eventually got an email on Thurs, 15th october, (dunno why - thinking it's cos I pressurised them) saying I should send the prepaid envelope. But try and call, although they will request for your credit/debit card to pay with, and it's £1.37 per min. During my own time, I did not send the prepaid envelope, I only sent my supporting document on the 26th and was received on the 28th sept. They got back to me on the 15th october saying that I should send a prepaid envelope, which I just did today with special delivery, they will receive it on Monday...I am just believing in God that I will get a call or email saying that my documents have been sent back to me...even if I don't get that email, I will be able to track it cos I used a special delivery. Good thing is that they didn't even call me or my hubby for interview (THAT IS TO SAY, they are satisfied).
Do feel free to ask me any Q if you're still confused.
N.B - Your application is still early since you sent it a month ago...be patient tho!

This was the email I was sent after I called and escalated it, and the guy called Barry was a nice dude and said a tricky statement that 'he hopes my hubby will join me soon'...which literally means that they have made the decision, but they wouldn't tell you...shocking, isn't it?

Dear *my name*,

Thank you for contacting UK Visas and Immigration International Enquiry
Service.

We have escalated your query to the relative authority concerning documents
sent to Sheffield 26/09/2015 under Case GWF..... and asked that they
now have all documentation. We will get back to you as soon as we receive a
reply.
For any further details, or should you need to contact us again please
refer to our website at https://ukvi-international.faq-help.com/, select
appropriate country, click next and then select 'E-Mail form' and complete
as instructed. We will aim to come back to you within 1 day.

Kind regards,
Barry

I sent the envelope with stamp with my supporting doc. Yes sent the supporting doc since 15th sep and received on 17th September.
TravelRe: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by ToyinNick: 7:55pm On Oct 16, 2015
Hi Oreskid,

I am the sponsor (British citizen). It was my hubby who did the biometric, and he did his bio on the 22nd of September.
What do you mean you include self address envelope, where?...I didn't quite get that!
Do you mean that you submitted the supporting document to Sheffield already?

If you are talking about the prepaid envelope, I am just going to send mine tomorrow (Saturday)

Btw, trust me on this, I was worried as well when I did not get email to say my documents have been received. I had to call them more than 20times and spoke to an adviser at the Embassy more than 20 times as well, even though they charged me £1.37. I had to put pressure on them...However I didn't even know that a decision had been made then cos I didn't get an email, but all of a sudden, they told me that I should send an envelope. When I spoke to the advisers, they do check their system, and will tell me that my document is not on their system. It was when I told the dude to escalate the matter, that he told me I will get a response in 5 days. In less than 5days (2/3days to be precise) I got the above message saying that I should send my prepaid envelope. Oreskid, you've just got to put pressure on them.
I believe that when I send my prepaid envelope, I will get a response next week.

Back to your Q, if you've sent your document and envelope, and you've nt heard from them, call them and tell them to escalate it, the adviser will get your details, and if you are nice to them, they will put your case upfront by prioritising it...Call them and let them know when you sent it and tell them to escalate it.
If you need their number or the site you can make a query, do lemme know...the query email helps as well because they get back within 48hrs or less.

Hope I have answered your Q, if not, expantiate further...and I will be willing to help.

Oreskid:
@ ToyinNick, Pls when do u submit and did biometric. Cos I sent supporting documents and had biometric on 15th September. But include self address envelope and didn't get sure message nor acknowledgement message for receive of document too.

Hi Newbie, Justwise, and others, please what does it mean when I get this kind of response...does it mean that my documents have been received as well?

We are in receipt of a Visa Application for the above named person. We have noted that no pre-paid return envelope has been provided with the documents submitted by the above named applicant or their sponsor. Please provide a suitable sized envelope with appropriate postage so we can return all the supporting documents to your Sponsors UK address.

When a decision has been made, we will be unable to despatch your documents until we receive a pre-paid envelope.

Please send to:
Sheffield Visa Section
Vulcan House Iron, Floor 4
6 Millsands
Sheffield
S3 8NH

Please note that the applicant’s passport will not be despatched in this method and will instead be available for collection from the Visa Application Centre that the application was made at. Notification will be sent from the staff at the Visa Application Centre when the passport is ready for collection.

Hello, don't work yourself up. If you read through my message when I got the visa, I stated that I never got an email confirming the delivery of my supporting documents, the postal address you sent to is the same one I used not the Vulcan House one and just like the email you said you received and posted here stated, mails from both addresses get delivered to the same office then they sort and I told you in my earlier post that it took almost a month after we mailed the documents before my hubby was contacted, I think it was just 2 days shy of a month. I'd advice you just hold on and tell your spouse to keep an eye out for the phone call. It seems like forever when you are waiting I know but it won't be long now anymore.

I don't quite get what you said about the two weeks deadline, can you explain?

All the best.

Thanks Newbie,

In regards to the 2wks deadline...my hubby submitted the form, tb, etc and did his bio in Lagos, he was told that they will send his application form to sheffield within 2wks, and that he should send the supporting documents within 2 weeks. it's going to be 2weeks on Monday, that's why I am worried...I don't want anything to happen to it.
Secondly, I am also worried because my documents were sent in two envelopes because of the weight, so I had to divide it, I just hope they will get them together, although I put the reference number on each envelope and document.

However, your last response really helped and encouraged me...I was getting all worked up and stressed cos of the whole thing...I pray I get a positive result at the end, fingers crossed...Thanks

Hi Newbie,

Since I sent the documents to S3 8WA, and I didn't send to Vulcan house, and the ECO has sent me an email saying my online application has been received, and they can't do anything until the supporting documents have been received, do you think it will still be reviewed? How about the two weeks deadline given? I have called the Embassy several times, when they check their system, they kept saying that there is nothing with the GWF reference number on their system. I am asking you because I think you've been in the same situation. Please come to my aid. I have not received any email about my documents, except email saying my online app has been received. Don't hesitate to contact me if you require some info.
Hoping to hear from you pretty soon.

No, I did not get any response that they received it, my hubby was called almost a month later for interview.

Oh ic, thx newbie...Actually I received an email saying this below (for those who are concerned like me about sending to a different address)

Dear Ma,

Both postal addresses deliver post to the same post room within UK Visas and Immigration and the post is then sorted and forwarded to the relevant department.

Hi I am having doubts because I called an adviser at the Homeoffice, and he told me the address is Vulcan house (not where I sent it to)...And also I have not received any email to say it's been received even after royal mail gave me the signed form that it's been received. I have received an email from the ECO that they've received my online application and they can't do anything until the documents are received
travelland:

The address is correct, why are you entertaining doubts about it
TravelRe: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by ToyinNick: 2:41pm On Oct 06, 2015
Congrats newbie,

Please I submitted the document to UK Visa and Immigration POBOX 3468 POSTCODE S2 8WA, I tracked it with royal mail and it's been signed by someone called McKenzie 2days after. However I have not received an email from the Homeoffice to say that they've received my documents. I only received email from ECO that Your online application has been received in Sheffield, UK. Your application is currently being prepared for consideration by an Entry Clearance Officer.

Please note that if you have lodged your Settlement application in the Caribbean region or Nigeria you must ensure that your UK sponsor has sent all relevant supporting documentation to the visa section in Sheffield. We will not start to assess your application until we are in receipt of these.

Please note that UKVI aims to complete all Visit Visa applications within 15 working days and all Settlement Visa applications within 12 weeks of the application date. If it is not possible to complete your application within this timeframe a member of our team will contact you to explain why.

If you have paid for Priority Service, your application will be placed in front of the queue and assessed ahead of other non-priority visa applications. As indicated in the terms of service, the amount paid for the priority service, as well as the visa fees, is not refundable if the visa application is refused or if the decision is delayed.

Please I need your help newbie, is it the right addy, if it is, how come I have not gotten any email?
newbie715:
Hello Everyone,

I really thank God. It's Yay time again grin The visa has come. grin I am really happy I discovered this forum‎. It guided me while I was putting documents together for submission and answered questions I had even after submission. I am particularly grateful to Justwise, Kazan and Girlfio cool for the suggestions then Karen (Portsmouth86) for crossing fingers and toes for me smiley.

Here is my timeline, it took more time than usual but that's because I had a setback so don't be discouraged.‎

March 23rd: I did the chest Xray for TB test then online submission‎

March 24th: ‎I was supposed to pick up the TB certificate and go for biometrics. Because I don't live in Lagos, I took 2 days off so that I could do the Xray, collect the certificate the next day then go on to submit passport and do biometrics but when I went to pick up the certificate, I was told that the Xray was abnormal, they said it was probably because I had pneumonia in 2013 and I had cough when I did the Xray, so I was told that I couldn't get a certificate as they don't work with maybes so they said they'd book me for sputum test, I had to come and cough and give them sample for 3 consecutive mornings and wait for 8 weeks atleast for the result (I couldn't believe my ears sad) but I had no choice so I did it, the result came out almost 9 weeks later so I picked it up and did biometrics on the 11th of June so I lost almost 3 months between online submission and biometrics, I had to keep going online to move my submission date so that my application will still be valid and because of the wait, I fell into the health surcharge period so I paid that as well.

June 11th: Submission, Biometrics and Skype interview‎

June ‎24th: Supporting documents sent to Sheffield

June 25th: We tracked the documents and we saw they had been delivered but I thought I was going to get an email confirming that they had received them. (it was at this point that Karen was crossing fingers and toes for me) It never came so I guess they don't acknowledge it‎

July 23rd: Hubby was called for interview

July 28th: Hubby had the interview‎ and when he asked the interviewer when we were likely to know the outcome, he told him 2 weeks that this is a busy period for them.

August 10th: I got ‎an email from Sheffield saying they had made a decision and that I'd get the passport within 3-5 work days

August 13th: I got 2 emails from Teleperformance, one in the morning saying a decision had been made that I will be contacted when they receive my passport. The second email came in the evening‎ stating that they had my passport so I should come and pick up.

August 17: I picked up the passport and it had Visa that had been issued on 31/07/2015. Yayyyy‎ grin grin

I am very happy and I am glad for all the feedback I got on this forum, what justwise has done here is highly commendable, not only did he create the thread but he constantly checks and assists people. Well done.

What I have to add is that everybody's ‎case is different. I didn't do the English test, we didn't have call log, o‎nly email history (lots of it) and BBM chat (just a few recent chats), because we had both changed phones severally we didn't have the old chats anymore. We are both busy at work during the day so we don't speak but we send loads of email then we Skype or do BBM call in the evening, we didn't print out the Skype but we had tickets and hotel reservations for holidays we took together, (3 holidays in total) so that and the email log was what we used as evidence of communication plus Hubby has been to Nigeria 4 times this year and about the same last year so we added the stamped pages of his passport showing the visits. Also a friend of mine was denied settlement Visa last month and one of the reasons is that she didn't state she knew her husband the 2 times she applied for visit visa but her records show that they had met as at that time. I fall into that category but they still gave me the visa...Thank God. Yaaay. The point is if you feel you are lacking in one area, do an overload of the one you have to prove that you have that area covered.

If anyone has any questions, I'd be more than happy to assist.

Thank you everyone once more, Nandos crew, are new members still welcome

Hello Paparazzom,

Please I have sent my supporting document since to UK Visa and Immigration POB 3468, Postcode S3 8WA, and since that time, I have not received any email regarding my document being received...Please do you have any idea?
Hoping to hear from you soon.

Kind Regards,
Angel
paparazzom:
Hey guys! hope you are all good.
As promised, here is my wife's UK spouse visa timeline.

After doing a lot of googling I came across this wonderful forum so I went through it from page 1 to 119 I think.
After gathering all the informations I needed, I decided to apply.

May 4th: I filled the online application for her here in the UK, paid the fees with my bank card, submitted it, then printed out the copy.
I sent the printed application along with supporting documents to my wife in Nigeria(I didn't realise I had to send it to
Sheffield myself)
I also booked her biometric day to may 18th at Ikeja.

May 18th: She did her biometric and was also interviewed on skype. she was also told that the supporting documents should be sent to
Sheffield.

May 19th: She received an email from UKVI stating that they have received her application and that they would send another email after
they have made a decision.

June 17th: I received a phone call from a guy asking me to attend an interview in Cardiff on June 22nd regarding my wife's spouse
visa.(I was so excited)
I went through my wife's application form, memorised where we got married and date, her parents names and date of birth,
where my wife was born, her address, and how we met.

Jun 22nd: I was interviewed on skype by one nice guy. He asked me a lot of questions e.g how I met my wife? how I met the financial
requirement? Accommodation and my job. (I was so relaxed) He told me after that, that was the quickest interview he has
ever done that a decision would be made as soon as possible

June 23rd: My wife got an email that a decision has been made and should expect the passport within 3-5 days.
Well she never received an email or text message from NonPerformace for collection so I asked my wife to go there and find
out what's going

July 07th: She went down to there office and showed them the email she got from UKVI.
Anyway she got her passport with visa on it. grin
Happyyyyyyyy grin grin grin grin grin
