Livingfire: i love jewelries, especially those made from beads......
|
InvertedHammer: /title of d movie pls |
after the first step, ur bead should be like............... A.................... B. C . D. where the dotted lines represents the thread/line ur using so u must continue adding one bead each to the line on both side and cross with another to keep forming and getting longer til It gets as long as you want ur purse to be.... |
HOW TO CROSS WEAVE to begin, ,measure a convenient length of thread... say about a yard or two. count 4 beads into d thread, u will now have 4 beads on. a straight line. now, hold the edges of d thread, one edge on each hand so that the 4 beads will now be at the center of the rope.... now, use the rope on ur right hand to pas through the first bead on the left side... confusing? now, say the beads u passed are beads.......................... A B C D ........................and in that order, the dotted lines is d rope now the rope on A end is on d left hand and data of D end is on d right hand, now pass the rope on the right hand through bead A. It should enter from where d rope on d left exits. . so that u ll still have one rope on each hand while d beads stays in d center now ur bead A should be uppermost, bead B and C on the same level in d middle and bead D on d down draw d line/thread thigh to keep bead in place ... if u get that u're more than half way done..... ANY QUESTION? NEXT... Now with an edge of thread on each hand pass one bead into each line and following the previous example... cross one bead into the line continue repeating this step until u have a line as long as ur purse..... shall we continue to next stage? what we will learn this morning is d chain maile necklace. chain maile necklace d simplest of wire work jewelry and also the most common It resemble the conventional neck-chain. see pix@. to begin this project, you need to know how to create a basic loop. Making loops or eyes Figure 1: Cut the wire, leaving a 3/8-in. (1cm) tail above the bead. Bend it against the bead at a right angle with the tip of a chainnose pliers. Figure 2: Grip the very tip of the wire in roundnose pliers. If you can feel it, the loop will be teardrop shaped. Figure 3: Without pulling, rotate the wire into a loop as far as your wrist will turn. Let go, regrasp the loop at the same place on the pliers, and keep turning to close the loop. The closer to the pliers tip you work, the smaller the loop. NOW... to create ur necklace, cut wires into smaller sizes like 1" (inches ) long and create a loop on both ends. after this, open a loop at one end and insert d loop on another wire end keep joining ur wires till u have. a desired length..... (To be continue... ) QUESTION TIME ♦♦♦ |
sereen: Pls ma'am,I suggest you make use of pictures for better understanding.thankz for ur assistance.of course I will illustrate with pix |
Things You'll Need Tools You will need: Round (for creating coils and circles) and Flat nosed pliers (for holding and bending angles) and Wire cutters (for cutting wire). these are the basics*** As you become more proficient, you might want to increase your range of tools to incorporate: Snipe/ or/Chain nosed pliers (similar to Flat nosed pliers but with tapered ends which are useful for intricate work), Hammer (for texturing, flattening and hardening) and a Steel Stake (to keep wire smooth and flat when hammered). other equipment includes: coiling gizmos, wire twisters, mandrel, French knitter, and of course: a table and a chair... 3 likes to continue (just to ensure someone is following)tx |

How to Choose Wire for Jewelry Proficient jewelry making requires the use of wire and a number of tools, along with materials like beads, glass, clasps and more. The wire used for jewelry making is created in a number of materials and sizes, called gauges or mm. The wire gauge, or mm, is the measure of the thickness of material. Depending upon the material type and size, you can choose wire for different jewelry projects. If you need to decipher what jewelry wire to buy for your next project, then read on to find out how to choose wire for jewelry. Steps Tips and Warnings 1 Choose your project . Different jewelry projects require different wire, so choose wire anew each time you begin a new type of wire jewelry creation. 2 Choose what material you want to use . Wire comes in aluminum, craft, colored, French wire, gold-filled, memory wire, sterling silver wire, silver plated and tiger tail. The price largely depends upon the material used to make the wire. Tiger tail wire is a very common wire in jewelry making. It is a braided stainless steel wire that is coated in nylon. It is very strong and comes in a number of colors. It cannot be used for wire wrapping, but it can be used to give the look of an "invisible" setting, where the beads look like they are floating. Other standard, inexpensive choices for skilled jewelry making are copper, aluminum and niobium. Copper wire comes in gold and silver colors and it is coated with enamel. Color coated aluminum wire comes in many colors and gauges and often has the color inside the wire, so you don't have to be as careful when working with tools. Niobium is light, comes in many colors and is not delicate. French wire is a coiled wire that is great for accenting jewelry. It comes in copper, gold-plated, silver-plated, sterling silver and vermeil. The smaller the coil, the more precious the metal, and the more expensive. Gold filled wire has 100 times more gold in it than gold-plated wire. It comes in dead soft, half-hard and full-hard, which is a scale from very delicate to extremely tough. This is an expensive wire, so it should probably be saved for special projects. Memory wire is made from carbon steel or stainless steel. It is great for bangles or other loops because it returns to the loop it was made into in the factory. It cannot be used for any projects that require wrapping. Sterling silver also comes in the strength scale of dead soft, half-hard and full-hard, Gold and silver-plated wires are great for creating a fancy look, but they can be easily ruined by tools. 3 Choose the size of wire you want to use for your project . Use 30-gauge or 28-gauge (0.25 to 0.32 mm) wire for delicate jewelry making. It is great for wire weaving, rings, bead work and making small chains. Use fine jewelry making tools for this gauge. Use 26-gauge (0.40 mm) to wrap beads and make smaller chain loops. This is the beginning of the finer gauges of wire. Also use fine tools with this gauge. Use 24-gauge (0.51 mm) wire for most beading projects. The gauge fits through most beads but isn't too bulky. It has a tendency to get kinks so you may need to buy a wire-straightening tool. Use 22-gauge (0.64 mm) wire for stone settings, earrings and pendants. It is a medium-gauge wire, which is commonly found in a number of materials and colors. Use 20 to 18-gauge (0.81 to 1 mm) wire for average clasps, jump rings and pins. This medium gauge wire can also be used for thicker chains or for stringing glass beads. Use 16 to 14-gauge (1.3 to 1.6 mm) wire, best used for large, heavy jewelry construction. If you use heavy beads or you are experimenting, this thick wire will make a statement. You can also use it for napkin rings or lampshade forms. |
